Ethan (Confessions #7)(30)
Author: Ella Frank

The barista brought over her caramel macchiato, and then the bell over the door jingled and Chloé’s eyes zeroed in on the two men who stepped inside.

Tall and commanding, they all but sucked the air out of the room with their presence. Like yin and yang, they balanced out one another—Zayne in his blue jeans and a grey t-shirt and Ethan, put together as always, in a suit. They made her mouth water, and Chloé’s nerves kicked in.

Damn, had she really been naked between those two? If she hadn’t been there, she might not believe it.

They walked in hand in hand, and something about seeing that, witnessing the obvious relationship, made them even sexier. It had never occurred to her before to pursue a sexual experience with a couple, but Shayla was right—it wasn’t all that shocking, considering the family she came from.

As they made their way over to her, she reminded herself to breathe. There was no reason to feel nervous. They had tracked her down. Had asked her for another night. She needed to remember that.

“Mornin’, Red. Hope you haven’t been waiting too long.” Zayne smiled as he took a seat across from her, and Ethan stopped by the end of the table.

“Not long at all, actually. I just got my coffee.”

Ethan gestured to the menu. “Would you like anything to eat with that? I’m going to go put our order in now, and Zayne is sucker for a pastry.”

“Got to fuel this body.” Zayne patted his stomach, making her laugh.

“No, I’m good. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Ethan gave a clipped nod, and as he walked off, they both took a second to watch him—and Chloé realized they weren’t the only ones. Several customers had glanced up from their computers and books to watch the handsome man who’d just stepped up to the counter. Whether it was his perfect face or the confident way he held himself, Ethan got attention.

“Does he own anything other than a suit?” Chloé asked as Zayne settled back in the booth.

“I’m not sure—maybe a pair of jeans?” He chuckled, and Chloé instantly relaxed. “We were happy you agreed to meet up with us again. We weren’t sure if you’d be excited or horrified that we tracked you down.”

Chloé laughed and tucked one her curls behind her ear. “Not horrified. Slightly mortified, maybe. The last place I expected you to show up at was my job, and considering I was still finding it difficult to, um—”

“Walk?”

Her cheeks heated, and she nodded. “Yes, it didn’t make it any easier seeing you both sitting there.”

“You won’t hear us complain about that.”

“Complain about what?”

They looked up to see Ethan unbuttoning his suit jacket, and when he slid into the seat beside Zayne, Chloé sucked in a breath. Alone, Zayne was easy to talk and flirt with. It was simple to forget that behind closed doors he was as formidable as the man who’d just sat down beside him.

Her mind flashed back to that moment in the elevator with the two of them—Ethan’s hands on her breasts as Zayne played with her clit—and suddenly she was shifting on her seat.

Seeing them shoulder to shoulder like this was an instant reminder that these two came as a pair. Literally and figuratively.

“Red was just telling me how difficult she found it to…walk after the night she spent with us.”

Oh my God. There went her cheeks again.

“Ah, I see.” Ethan eyed her. “And to think, that was us taking it easy on you.”

“Easy?” Chloé’s eyes widened. “You both took me several times.”

Ethan lowered his gaze down over the delicate material of her jumpsuit. “I remember, and had you stayed the night, we would’ve taken you several more.”

Chloé’s body clenched, her thighs instantly tightening.

“You like that idea, don’t you, little girl?”

Her eyes flicked to Zayne’s, and something about the naughty twinkle in them made her brave. “Yes, actually, I do.”

Zayne laughed and looked at Ethan. “I told you.”

“So you did. Maybe I just had to see it to believe it.”

“See what?” she asked.

“You, sitting in front of us, admitting that you enjoyed submitting for us.”

“I didn’t say that.”

“Yes you did.”

Chloé instantly bristled, and was about to tell him how arrogant he was when the waiter appeared with two coffees and a pastry.

“Thank you,” Ethan said with a clipped nod.

When the waiter was out of earshot, Chloé scoffed. “So, it’s just me you’re rude to.”

“Rude?” Ethan picked up his coffee and took a sip. “I’m not being rude. I’m being direct. And the reason for that is you don’t know me yet, and if that’s going to change in a sexual or personal way, then you need to trust what I’m telling you. The best way for me to do that is to be upfront at all times.”

“How do I know that your being upfront isn’t the lie?”

“Because I’m not trying to spare your feelings.”

Okay so he had a point there—he definitely wasn’t going out of his way to flirt and fill her head full of sweet talk. “What about Zayne?”

“What about Zayne?”

“He flirts, talks up a good game—are you saying that everything he says is a lie?”

“Hey now.” Zayne put a hand to his chest, but tossed her a wink. “That hurts.”

“It’s not a lie, no.” Ethan glanced at the man sitting next to him, and the look of pure affection that crossed his features just about made her heart stop. “Zayne loves people. He has an innate ability to ease someone’s mind when they’re troubled, or make them laugh and forget why they were worried in the first place. He’s a light in a dark room.” Ethan looked back to her, that affection now replaced with a grave expression. “I’m the dark room.”

Chloé looked between the two of them, more intrigued than ever about their story.

How did they meet?

When did they meet?

What did Ethan mean by being a “dark room”?

“So,” Ethan said, pulling her out of her thoughts. “You said you wanted to renegotiate?”

“Oh, yes. About that.” Chloé opened her purse and pulled out the much more extensive paperwork she’d printed out after her and Shayla’s little chat. Then she took a deep breath and slid it across the table. “I have a new contract that I worked up. One I’d like the both of you to look over and sign.”

HOLY. SHIT.

RED had brought her own contract. Of course she had.

She was new to this scene. Totally naïve when it came to the proper order of things in this world. Otherwise, there was no way she would’ve just presented two doms with a contract for them to sign.

It was kind of cute, really. Cute and very brave.

Zayne did his best to contain his laugh as she sat back in her seat and clasped her hands on the table, much the same way Ethan had done that night in their office. But if she thought she was running this show, she was in for one hell of a surprise.
