Excitement rolled through Emily. “Right. Then you should get on with making love to your wife, huh?”
Fletch didn’t need any other encouragement before his head dropped between her legs. He always made sure she was more than turned on and wet before entering her. It was one more thing she loved about her man.
When she was ready, Fletch came up on his knees and pushed inside her with one long, hard thrust, making them both moan softly. Then he made hard, fast love to her. She came too quickly, trembling and shaking with the intensity of her orgasm. It only took Fletch three more hard thrusts before he followed, exploding deep inside her body.
Twenty seconds later, they both heard a loud, whiny voice from down the hall. “Mooooom! Ethan is hogging the beanbag! It’s my turn!”
Fletch sighed and lifted his head where he’d let it fall bonelessly against her shoulder after he came. He smiled down at her and brushed a stray lock of hair off her slightly sweaty forehead. “I’ll go deal with them. You stay here. Naked and drowsy. I’m gonna want to do that again once I get the boys settled, and make sure my daughter and her boyfriend haven’t gone too far.”
Emily knew she should probably get up, put her clothes back on and help her husband deal with their brood, but she was too comfortable at the moment. Besides, all it would take was one stern word from Daddy, and Doug and Ethan would calm down. She was also confident that there was no way Frankie would disrespect Annie—or her and Fletch—by seducing their daughter on the couch. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t give him some incentive to hurry back to her.
“Okay,” she said, running a hand down her naked body seductively. “I’ll be right here.”
“Damn, woman,” Fletch complained as he refastened his pants after standing. He leaned over and kissed her long and deep before lifting his head. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Do you remember our first kiss?” he asked out of the blue.
“Yes. Do you?”
“We were on my couch and were playing that ‘get to know you’ game. I’d just convinced you to live with me, and you agreed to go on a date. I was holding your hands, and I leaned over, and the second my lips touched yours, I knew my life had changed…for the better.”
“Wow, you do remember,” Emily said.
“It’s seared on my brain,” he admitted. “I like Frankie. He’s going to be a good man. And I hope like hell he appreciates what he has in our daughter.”
“He does,” Emily said without hesitation.
“And I hope our daughter remembers her first kiss as fondly as I do mine, with you,” Fletch said. Then he turned and headed for the door.
The second it closed behind him, Emily repositioned herself on the bed and got under the covers. She turned on her side and sighed in contentment. Her life was chaotic with four kids, and a husband who sometimes drove her crazy, but she wouldn’t change one thing about it.
She was so happy that her daughter had found someone who seemed to love her as much as her own husband loved Emily. “Hang on to him, Annie,” Emily whispered. “A guy who’ll appreciate getting a bobblehead as a gift is a precious thing.”
Closing her eyes, Emily couldn’t help but wonder where her daughter’s life would take her. Would she join the Army? Would she and Frankie stick it out? Would she have children?
Whatever happened, Emily knew Annie would be all right.
And now she had the memory of a perfect first kiss to look back on too.
Emily fell asleep before Fletch returned and never even felt him climbing under the covers with her. She didn’t feel him kiss her forehead and hold her close. All she’d felt before drifting off was safety, and love, and the certainty that all her children were happy and healthy at the moment. All was right in their world.
