The Single Life with Zola Patterson Part 2(15)
Author: Danielle Allen

I opened my eyes, but it was him that seemed to struggle to maintain eye contact. His face contorted and he bit down on his bottom lip as he started losing control. Letting out a low growling noise, his eyes closed, and his head fell back.

Watching him come was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen.

“Oh my God,” I panted.

That was the best sex I’d ever had.

We ended up in a naked heap in the middle of his bed. Satiated huffs of air were the only conversation between us as we caught our breath.

His hands slid up my thigh and once he cupped my ass, he pulled more of my body on top of him. My legs brushed against his hard dick and we both groaned.

Kissing me tenderly, he whispered, “I can’t get enough of you.”

“And I want more of you,” I murmured, letting my tongue meet his. He moaned in my mouth. “Do you have another condom?”

Chapter 6

After a shower, I put on my olive-green military style dress without panties. My stomach growled as I made my way down the hall. I tiptoed down the hallway, but my footsteps announced my arrival before I entered the kitchen.

“I hope you’re hungry,” Saint stated without turning around.

“I’m starving,” I told him, inhaling deeply. “It smells delicious in here.”

“Thank you. It’s the macaroni.”

My eyes traveled down his shirtless back. His broad shoulders and muscular arms were on display as he searched the cabinets. His jeans fit him just right, but I wouldn’t have been opposed to him being completely naked in just an apron.

Does he have an apron?

“I am out of my secret ingredient.” He turned around. “I thought I had another bottle, but I don’t. I need to run to the store.”

“Oh…okay.”

“You can stay here if you want. It’ll take me fifteen minutes.”

I shook my head. “No, I’ll come.”

He walked over to me and cradled my face in his hands. “Whatever you want to do.”

“I’m coming.”

He leaned down and kissed me. “I plan on hearing that at least one more time for dessert.”

“Mmm,” I cooed, wrapping my arms around him. “You are going to spoil me.”

He paused, looking me square in the eyes. “Yes.”

My heart lurched.

I couldn’t explain what was happening in words if I tried.

“Let’s go to the store so we can get back,” he announced, letting me go. “It won’t take me long to cook the steaks, but the sauce sets it off.”

I had to shake off the daze he’d put me in before I could respond. “Okay.”

The smile that played on his lips made me think he could read my mind. “What are you thinking?”

“All I have to do is put my shoes on. Are you going shirtless?” I teased.

He laughed. “I took it off because I got stuff on it when I was mixing the—you know what?” He turned and headed toward his bedroom. “I’m going to get a shirt. I’m not explaining myself to someone who doesn’t have books on her bookshelf.”

It was my turn to laugh. “I have books!” I yelled at his back.

I put on my combat boots and waited for him at the door. When he rounded the corner, the look he gave me made my entire body flush.

“What?” I wondered softly when he was directly in front of me.

“Nothing.” He opened the door for me. “I just like looking at you.”

“If you’re trying to get in my pants, it’s working,” I told him as we walked out.

“Good to know.”

He locked the door and then followed me to his car. He unlocked the doors and then as he was helping me into the SUV, his hand slipped.

“You’re not wearing anything underneath that?” he asked as I got comfortable in my seat.

I pulled his face close to mine and placed his hand on my knee. “What was I supposed to do?” I murmured, allowing my lips to brush against his as I spoke. “You got the other ones so wet that they’re still drying out.”

His mouth covered mine and his hand traveled between my thighs. I opened my legs to allow him easy access to his destination.

A car horn blared causing us both to stop suddenly.

“Shit, Zola…” He removed his hand just short of touching me where I wanted him to. “You are so fucking addictive.”

I kissed him one last time before pulling away. “The feeling is mutual.”

He adjusted himself and closed my door. When he got in on his side of the car, he was still shaking his head. “My dick is hard as hell.”

“Well if you would’ve moved your hand up one more inch, you would’ve felt the effect you have on me.”

His eyes flashed before he looked away from me and backed out of his parking spot. “We have to talk about something else. The oven is on so we have to get back fast, and I can’t go in the store like this. So let’s talk about something else. Tell me about that contract you signed at work.”

Grinning, I stared at his profile. “It’s the same thing I’m already doing, but for more money and exclusivity…”

He kept asking questions, so I kept telling him about The Herald, what I’d be doing and how often I’d have to drive to the office. By the time I was done, we had made it to the high-end market.

“I underestimated how attracted I am to your intelligence and business acumen,” he said me as we parked. “I’m hard as a rock.”

I took off my seatbelt. “What can I do to help?”

“Stop looking at me like that, Zola,” he warned with a laugh. “You’re not helping.”

“Come on,” I giggled. “We don’t want your condo to catch on fire.”

“Shit, you’re right.”

“I’ll stand in front of you.”

He looked at me in exasperation. “You’re trying to make it worse?”

I laughed. “Come on.”

We walked into the store laughing and joking. He grabbed a handbasket and held it in front of him to block prying eyes from the bulge that was still noticeable in his jeans. It was funny, but I also was glad that he was covering it up.

“Hey, it’s this way,” he told me, grabbing my hand and gently tugging me in the right direction.

My heart skipped a beat.

I shifted out of the way of an oncoming shopper and noticed that we were still holding hands. I knew what we looked like and for whatever reason, I didn’t immediately pull away.

“There it is,” he said, bringing my hand to his lips to kiss my knuckles before letting me go to grab the Shaoxing wine.

Pretending my hand was a piece of paper, I wrote the name of the wine down with my imaginary pen. “Shaoxing wine,” I stage whispered.

Saint playfully slapped my hand and then pretended he was ripping the paper. “Are you trying to steal my recipe?”

I feigned shock. “What? Me? No?”

“You dirty little thief,” he growled, grabbing my other hand and snatching my pen. “Try to write without this.” He cocked his arm back and threw the imaginary pen over into a different aisle.

My head fell back, and I laughed so hard that no sound came out. I had tears in my eyes as I held my side.
