Grown and Sexy for Christmas(28)
Author: Ja'Nese Dixon

There’s hot chocolate, warm apple cider, every kind of pizza imaginable, then Quanesha takeover the kitchen baking her infamous cookies. Her folks warn me to stay out of her way, but staying away from Quanesha is impossible.

I enter the kitchen as she’s removing a pan of cookies from the oven.

“You look like you know what you’re doing.” I tease.

“Because I do.”

I reach for a cookie, and she smacks my hand. "Ouch!"

“Wait, they’re hot.” She transfers the chocolate chip cookies with pecans onto the cooling rake. “This has been the best Christmas ever.”

“Tell me about it, baby.”

“Daiya got married, I had chicken in a waffle cone, I wrote my first real script, I quit that damn job, I’m spending time with my family and yours on my favorite holiday…”

I see the excitement in her eyes and hear the emotions in her voice.

“And…” she sniffles.

I take a sip of wine from her glass. “And…”

“And I found you.” I lean over and kiss her, slipping her a little tongue, and she whispers, “You know what this means?”

“No, baby, what does it mean?”

“Christmas wishes are real.”

I remove the spatula from her hand and the oven mitts. I sit her on the island, resting between her legs.

“What did you wish for?”

“I wished for you and writing, and Santa gave me both.”

I pull her body flush with mine and bring her mouth to mine. I kiss her with everything in me. This is truly the best Christmas I've had in years. My house is full of family and friends, and I have this astonishing woman in my life. I didn't wish for it because I wouldn't have imagined it could be this good. But it is.

“I love you, Quanesha.”

“I love you, Carson.”

I glance around, and everyone's occupied or sleep. I have my woman to myself and an idea.

“What am I supposed to do while we wait for the cookies to cool?” I discreetly lower her zipper and wiggle my hands inside her pajamas. I massage her breasts until her nipples feel like perfect chocolate morsels for my consumption.

She moans, “How about a tour of the master bedroom?”

Carson’s eyes turn white with passion. He slowly closes my pajamas and pops a cookie in his mouth.

“Oh, man, that’s good.” He reaches back for another.

“I told you.”

"You did. But do you know how many women try to win men over with the old fake and bake?" He laughs, guiding me up the stairs.

My heart races, and the moment the door closes, he carries me to his custom bed, and I'm naked.

He tours the length of my body, first with his hands, and his mouth follows. He tells me all the ways he plans to love me, how he'll shower me with gifts, and I tell him all I want is him.

Carson loves me until I’m weak.

Then he lies beside me, slipping a hand under me, pulling my body against his. He’s so quiet I think he’s asleep. But I can’t sleep. I’m still wired thinking about all that’s happened.

It’s funny how days like today send my mind down memory lane. How one decision could have resulted in an entirely different outcome and how every major decision is truly an act of faith. Trusting that the unknown details will work out in my favor.

Momma Alma thinks I'm next to get married, and I can't think that far ahead. However, if he asks, I'd say yes as a tip to the universe that I'm here for all of the things.

Happiness.

Friendship.

Family.

Love.

No more fucking drama.

What more could I want for Christmas? What more could I want for my life?

A month ago, I asked for a grown and sexy Christmas in New York City, and this is what I got. Fine-ass Carson Wellington, an appointment with a producer to read my script, and me—Quanesha Rachelle Montgomery.

I got me, all of me.

This is so amazing that I can’t make this shit up.

How in the world will we ever top this Christmas?

“Babe,” Carson growls, biting my neck.

I giggle, leaning into his body. “Yes.”

“What you think about getting married on Christmas Day next year?” His hand appears with a rock on his pinky finger.

“I say, hell yeah!”

Carson’s laughter fills the room. “I love you, and Merry Christmas.”

"Merry Christmas, babe." I look at the ring, ain't that something. Then I whisper, "I love you," wiggling until the curves of my body mold to him, and I close my eyes.

Oh, I almost forgot, and Merry Christmas to you, too!

Acknowledgments

I had so much fun writing this book. My work felt like play and it made this unprecedented time—the pandemic—bearable.

Danyelle and I are real sistafriends. We’ve even took a road trip with our husbands and our children. (Now that’s a story. lol) This book was another adventure and I’m thankful to have her as a friend, sister, and writing buddy.

Thank you Danyelle! I’m looking forward to the next books in the series.

I also want to acknowledge our hubbies. We wrote overnight many nights and they were kind and kept the coffee flowing.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge YOU for taking a chance on our Sweet to Steamy concept. I hope you had a blast and you’re eager about reading more in the future.

Sneak Peek! Lavish Love

Another Christmas Romance

“Hello, handsome…” I whisper, brushing a hand across the cold coated paper. The slight shake of the magazine makes it hard to focus on the bold headline—Latino Businessperson of the Year. His thick black wavy hair flows away from his face, his bedroom eyes whisper, Remember me. And I do.

The sound of laughter invades my private moment with Mateo Rodriquez. My eyes dart to my open office door and back to the man who has invaded my dreams ever since he called Platinum Prestige a week ago.

According to Hunter, one of my best friends and business partners, Mateo contacted us about importing supplies and asked for me by name. I haven't returned his call because quite frankly I'm scared. Then I went to the corner store for a Coke and there he was on the magazine rack.

I've unintentionally kept up with his career. Here and there. Not going out of my way, not avoiding it. It's hard to ignore him when the man is featured in magazines and on television shows. And now he's on top of the list of the Most Powerful Latinos in Business.

The steady cadence of my breathing is an act I've perfected. I'm the big bad Alexandria Martinez. I don't take shit from anybody, and I live by my own rules. But with him, it was different. I was different.
