Fight Like You've Never Lost (Summer Lake #14)(14)
Author: S.J. McCoy

 She laughed. “You’re not serious?”

He nodded solemnly. “Deadly serious. Come on.” He caught her hand and led her upstairs to the bedroom.

She looked around with an odd look on her face, but he didn’t worry about it. He went into the closet and grabbed a pair of sweats. He took more time over the T-shirt. This was for his viewing pleasure, after all. He smirked when he spotted the perfect one. He came back out and went to the dresser and took a pair of boxer briefs out of the top drawer.

She laughed when she saw them. “You want me to wear your underwear? I’ll tell you for nothing; you’re not wearing mine, mister.”

He laughed with her. “Err, you’re right. You couldn’t get me into a thong even at gunpoint—not unless you’re still in it.”

He loved that her cheeks flushed at that. She’d been under him, come for him—hell, she’d had his cock in her mouth. But she still blushed at his words. It was just one more thing that didn’t sit right with the bold bitch she made out she was.

“I figured that since you’re so high maintenance you’d probably want to take a shower and rinse your delicates, ready for morning. You can wear these in the meantime—or none.” He smirked. “Your choice.”

She smiled at him through pursed lips. “Okay. You win.”

His heart rate picked up when she started unfastening her blouse. He hadn’t expected it, but he wasn’t going to complain. He pulled his T-shirt up and off over his head. “What did I win?”

She laughed. “Round two in the shower.”

He couldn’t look away when she unhooked her bra and freed her breasts. His hands were on them before the bra hit the floor.

She slid her hand inside his pants and worked him while he teased her nipple with his tongue. This was going to be one hell of a weekend.

In the shower, she pushed him back against the wall and kissed him. This was the woman he’d expected her to be. Aggressive, taking what she wanted, pressing herself against him, digging her fingers into his ass—he loved it! He wanted to find her softer side again, but for now, he was happy to enjoy this side of her. He slid his hand between her legs, but she moved away. Putting a hand to his shoulder, she pushed him back until he sat on the bench. He reached for her hips as she straddled him. Damn, this was perfect.

She took hold of him and stroked herself with him as drops of water rolled down over her. He watched as they rolled over her erect nipples, then traced their path with his tongue. She let her head fall back, seemingly lost in the feel of it. Her hand stilled around him, and he took advantage of her lapse in focus. Closing his hands around her hips, he pulled her down at the same time he thrust up. He closed his eyes as he entered her tight, wet heat. He moaned as she tightened around him. She was amazing.

Leanne closed her eyes and let the water run down over her face. He’d told her she was the best. She wasn’t sure if she’d tell him, but he was, too—the best she’d ever had. He was hot and hard inside her—and so damned big. He stretched her, filled her as he thrust his hips and pulled her down onto him.

She moved in time with him, finding the perfect spot where he rubbed against her—no thumb required. His hands shifted to her ass, holding her wide open as he picked up his pace. She grasped tight to his shoulders as he carried her higher and higher. He was going to take her over the edge, and this time she was going to let him. She’d let him inside her in every physical sense there was this weekend. And then she’d close him out.

“Give it up for me, baby.”

He was thrusting deeper and harder. His hand came up to close around her breast and he teased her nipple with his tongue. “Ryan!”

She rode him harder, grasping him tighter and tighter with her inner muscles as she felt him tense and stiffen. His next thrust sent her over the edge. “Yes!” Waves of pleasure wracked her whole body. Her orgasm triggered his and he let go deep inside her with a low growl that resonated through him and into her. She clung to him as he carried her away, flying high above the clouds until they slowly came back down.

She slumped against his shoulder, and he turned to kiss her neck. It sent an aftershock rippling through her, making her tighten around him and return the favor.

 “You really are the best.”

His words sent a ripple of a different kind of pleasure through her. One that she didn’t want to examine too closely—it was easier to dismiss it.

She smiled against his neck, wanting him to feel just as good. “I think I’ll have to share that title with you.”

His head came up and he grinned at her. “Why, thank you.” He pressed one of those sweet little kisses to her lips.

Man. She’d have to watch herself. It’d be way too easy to fall for him.

Chapter Seven

Ryan brought the truck to a stop in front of the cabin and turned to Leanne. He had to laugh at the expression on her face.

 “What’s up?”

“Nothing’s up, Mr. Brady. I’m just struggling to figure you out.”

His heart sank. What did he think he was doing? He shouldn’t have brought her here. He shouldn’t have persuaded her to spend the weekend with him. He was being greedy—and therefore getting careless. Of course, she couldn’t figure him out. She wasn’t supposed to. Nobody was.

He made himself smile. They were here now. He’d make the most of this weekend but then he needed to get back on track. Forget about her. Get this course done with and get back to work.

 “What are you struggling with?”

 “Let’s see. You’re supposedly a student.”

He tensed when she said that—if even she could pick up on the fact that it was only supposedly …

“You’re also supposedly a boring banker. I expected you to drive either some cheap old POS to go with the student persona or maybe an expensive import if you were a successful banker. But nope.” She looked around her. “Here we are in your full-sized gas-guzzling truck.”

 “It’s a diesel.”

She shrugged. “Either way. My point is that it doesn’t fit with who you’re supposed to be.”

He knew that. They’d told him he should leave his truck at home and buy an old piece of shit while he was being a student. But he hadn’t been able to resist. He loved his truck. And he was hardly ever around to drive it anymore.

“Then, you say we’re going to your friend’s cabin in the redwoods. So, I figured we’d head north out of San Francisco, that we’d end up in some modest little place in some kind of resort. But nope again. Here we are in freaking Big Sur and …” She peered through the window at the cabin, which was really a log home far too grand to be called a cabin. “And you seem to have brought me to some private estate that indicates that if you really are a banker, you must be a very successful one.”

 “It’s not my place.”

She held his gaze for a moment. “But it could be if you wanted to buy it, right?”
