Cold Heart(23)
Author: Ruby Wolff

"I will be over," Atlas tells him, then Aiden leaves.

"Do you all own the hotel?" I ask, now I know they all live here.

"They both own a small share." Atlas walks over to his bed and takes his jacket. "I've ordered the items that you wanted, they should be here tomorrow," he tells me, and I walk over to the door as he does.

“Thank you,” giving him a smile. I go to open the door, but stop when Atlas puts his hand on top of mine.

"Your health. I want to know when you're not feeling well. I want to know if something feels off. My doctor will be here tomorrow to look at your notes, and he will let me know; but I want you to be the one to tell me, if not then it will really disappoint me," Atlas tells me, then he lets go of my hand.

I spent a few hours the other day wondering how he got all my notes, but nothing came to me. I mean the man had me kidnapped. If he could find out where I lived to have me snatched pretty easy, he must have gotten every detail of my life; I bet that was one boring read for him. I'm still surprised that he has gone through all this for me- a person he's never met.

“Do you understand?” Atlas asks, as I haven’t responded.

"Yes."

We both walk out of his bedroom, and he walks down the stairs, and I watch as he talks to Rhys and Aiden.

Where do we go from here? Does he regret what he did?

I was praying she didn't say a word when I gave her an out, but she did and I couldn't back down from what I’d said.

The first few times I struck her skin, Brooklyn tensed. But, after a couple of smacks, she began to relax when I touched her. I had pictured that moment a few different ways: her liking it, hating it, screaming, begging for me to stop and let her go; but Brooklyn did everything I’d hoped for. She enjoyed it. When she came, she vibrated all over like some of the toys I like to use; I felt her tense every muscle.

I got harder, every time she moaned; it took everything in me not to bury my fingers inside her again, to feel how wet she was. I desperately wanted to flip her over, spread her legs and eat her out.

As much as I want to do all these things to her, I have to wait until the doctor says she is fit and healthy. I have to go slow with her; at the moment she hasn't stopped me, but I might push her into something that will scare her away. That is something I really don’t want to do.

She might have Lucy's heart inside her, but I have to think of her as Brooklyn, and not Lucy. The fact is that I love the heart inside her, I always will, but Aiden was right: Brooklyn is not Lucy. If I can make Brooklyn fall in love with me, then I will have both the love of Brooklyn and the heart of Lucy.

As I get to the bottom of the stairs, to meet Rhys and Aiden, I can feel Brooklyn watching me. I don't look over, I need to focus on work; the guys would have only called if it was important.

Rhys hands me a file, I don't open it straight away, I have a question first.

"Mr. Knowles show up?" I look at them both as they smile at me.

"He called a few hours ago, said he would like to bring his wife. Told him she can watch, no touching; if she does, then he needs to pay,” Rhys tells me, as we walk to the door to the club.

"We've got the staff set up, and they've all signed the paperwork," Aiden tells me as we make our way over to my office.

I didn't think Mr. Knowles would show up. I thought the wife would have told him he’d lost his mind and she wanted him out of the house. It just goes to show how people can surprise you.

I can feel them both watching me, and I'm waiting for one of them to ask about what happened with Brooklyn so I can tell them to fuck off; it's none of their business.

As I sit at my desk, I look at them both; they aren't asking, and that works for me.

I look through the file Rhys gave me, and then I look at him. This can’t be right. I’m confused as I turn my attention back to the file and read through it once again. Maybe I missed something the first time? Fuck. How the hell has this dick head been coming here when he has a history of assault? Every guest goes through an intense background check. I know the time they were born and how much gas and air their mom had during delivery, what grades they got in school, how many detentions they served, when they got their driving license, when they were late for their paper round, to every fucking piss and drug test they failed. So how the fuck did he get past me?

“How?” I look at them both.

"He changed his name, we need to bring in fingerprints into our background checks, so we can make sure that this doesn’t happen again," Rhys tells me, and I close the file.

"Is he here?" I ask, getting off the chair as I take my jacket off. They both look at each other; the last time a guest lied to me, they had a long stay in the hospital; they're both worried I will do it again. I walk out of the office. "Where?" I ask them.

"Mirror room," Aiden tells me as I make my way down the corridor, until I get to the room he’s in. I walk in; one of my girls is riding him as he watches himself in the ceiling mirrors.

"Vee, would you leave please? We need a word with him," I tell her, glancing over towards Aiden as he puts a bathrobe on Vee. As I wait for her to leave, and as she makes her way to the door, I lock my eyes on Dean.

Dean, a guest for over a year now, spends every day here. Always pays on time, and we’ve never had a problem with him, the girls have never complained about him. Dean opened a coffee shop, worked hard to build it from nothing, nothing in his past was flagged up. But he did the one thing I hate. He lied to me.

“What was one of my terms, Dean? When you signed on the dotted line, I told you if you lie, things wouldn’t be pretty for you.” I let out a small chuckle, as I watch Dean scrambling to put his pants on, only a few seconds ago his dick was hard and now with the fear running through him, his dick has shrunk into nothing.

“I never lie-”

“What happened six years ago?” I cut him off.

The man looks like he's seen a ghost. I don't like people lying to me, especially when it puts my staff in danger. He could have hurt them, and it would have been on me.

“A mistake, one that I can’t take back, one that I regret every day,” Dean looks between us, pleading, and I look over at Aiden and Rhys.

"Your membership is terminated. Immediately.” Rhys tells him. Dean takes a small step forward but stops, he begins to open his mouth to talk but quickly closes it again, unsure of how to fight his case. He’s shocked I’ve cut him off so fast; he needs to know I'm not going to change my mind, so he can stare at me all he fucking wants.

“It was a mis-”

"Then you should have told me from the start; you signed a contract which stated you do not have a criminal past. You lied." I take a step closer to him, but he stands his ground. "You never hit a woman! To us, hurting a woman is a giant fucking no! There’s no line to cross, because there isn’t a line for assaulting a woman. You did the one thing I will never accept," I hiss at him as I look in the mirror and see Ash walking in. "Get him out of my club," I instruct Ash, as I begin to leave the room. I grit my teeth as I tighten my jaw muscles, I know I’m becoming angrier when I realize I’ve balled my hands into fists and can feel the pressure I’m using in my grip, breaking my nails. I want to beat him for hurting a woman, but I know I can’t; I’m trying to control myself.
