Fall From Grace (Medici Warrior # 4)(43)
Author: Emily Bex

"Mrs. Canton, follow me please. The President is expecting you."

The butler led Rissa to the private elevator that took them to the third floor. He escorted her to the door leading into the family quarters flanked by the Secret Service and tapped lightly. The President answered the door and extended his hand to Rissa, giving it a firm shake.

"So happy you could accommodate me on such short notice, Mrs. Canton. Please, come in."

As Rissa entered the room, President Ashton nodded his dismissal to the butler and closed the door. "Now, can I get you a drink, my lovely?"

Rissa glanced around the room and smiled to herself. One day very soon this would all be hers. "What a beautiful room, Mr. President. I’d love a red wine."

Ashton was nervous as he poured a glass of wine for her and a double shot of bourbon for himself. He downed the drink in one gulp and refilled his glass before turning to her and offering her the wine. "Please, sit down, and call me John. Make yourself comfortable. Can I get you anything? Have you had dinner?"

Taking the glass from his hand, Rissa could sense his nervousness. The stupid fool probably never fucked anything this hot in his whole miserable life. She sat elegantly on the upholstered chair, her tight fitting dress hugging every curve. Crossing her legs with a dramatic flair, her skin was shimmering. She tossed her long blonde hair over her shoulder and rolled her huge blue eyes up to him, the smile spreading across her face.

"Oh no please, I’ve had dinner, but thank you for the offer. Imagine having dinner privately with President John Ashton, the most powerful man in the world. I’m so honored to have this invitation. I couldn’t possibly ask for anything more than your wonderful company." Taking a sip of the wine, Rissa was careful not to ingest too much, this wasn’t Midnight, but a small amount wouldn’t harm her.

The President sat down next to her, taking in her long tanned legs. Unlike his wife, Rissa didn’t wear hosiery. He was wondering what else she might have left off under that skirt. He let his hand rest on her knee as he tested the waters. "Well, maybe next time I can arrange for us to have a private dinner." She didn’t pull away from his hand, so he moved it slowly up her bare thigh before stopping.

Rissa resisted the impulse to move away from this repulsive man. She knew she had to let him make the first move as that was what Alec needed. "A private dinner would be wonderful, John. I’d look forward to it. And, the Secret Service? Do they stay outside that door?” Rissa gave a nervous laugh, loathing every minute of this charade. She hoped he didn’t take all damn evening to get to the bedroom.

"The Secret Service always stands just outside the door. But don't worry about them. They won’t enter the family quarters unless I call them or push the panic button. I don't think there will be any need to push the panic button, do you?" He slipped his hand further up her thigh and under the edge of her fitted skirt.

Rissa laid her hand on his thigh and licked her soft red lips. "No panic at all, Mr. President." Lifting her hand from his leg, she slid it along his sagging jawline. In a breathy voice, she spoke to him, "You’re so handsome and powerful. I adore powerful men, how they handle every situation with such ease and grace."

Ashton's heart raced as she responded to his advances. He was well aware of the men who used their power to attract women, but he’d never played that game. It had been a very long time since a young woman flirted with him, and he felt clumsy. He downed the last of his bourbon and set the glass on the table before taking her hand. "Maybe you’d like a tour? The family quarters aren’t open to the public."

Rissa could sense his nerves and his anxious need to take her. Setting her wine glass down, she stood and reached for his hand. "Well, that’s an invitation I’m most eager to accept. It’s not often such a powerful man offers me a personal guided tour."

As Ashton stood, she wrapped her arm around his elbow and leaned into his ear whispering in a husky sexy voice. "Lead on, show me all of the dark corners and special places I should see."

He almost stumbled as she whispered in his ear. He led her in the direction of his private bedroom, which would put a little space between him and the Secret Service. He pushed open the door and held his hand out for her to enter ahead of him. "After you, my lovely."

"What a beautiful room." Walking ahead of Ashton, Rissa wandered slowly around the room, stopping to kick off her heels, and quickly spotting the cleverly positioned cameras Hyde had placed earlier. Sauntering to the bed, she could feel his eyes burning a hole in her back. Letting her hand slide along the finest linens on the bed, her eyes swept to his.

"Do you sleep alone, John, or does your wife join you? I can only imagine that a man in your position of power can be under so much stress. It would be a pity not to have someone to comfort you on those nights."

Ashton joined her and sat down on the bed. "I'm afraid my wife has her own bedroom. She says I toss and turn at night and it keeps her awake." He brushed a stray lock of hair from her cheek. "I can't imagine you’d ever sleep alone, my lovely."

Sighing heavily for effect, Rissa had him right where she wanted him. "I sleep alone quite often, more than you could ever imagine. Alec...is so busy. He’s absorbed with his career. We barely see each other and I...."

She let out a soft sob as she sat beside him and curled into his shoulder. "Oh John, you don’t know the loneliness I feel. Alec’s attention is always on his work, not me."

Ashton placed his arm around her shoulder, stroking her arm. "Then I have sorely misjudged him, my lovely. What man in his right mind would ever let you sleep alone? Clearly, he needs to re-assess his priorities."

He nuzzled against her cheek, his breath hot against her skin. She was wearing a delicate perfume that intoxicated him.

Rissa could feel his breath against her cheek and resisted the impulse to recoil. She must give him a sign she accepted and wanted his attentions. Sliding her tongue softly around his ear lobe, her hand glided down his chest. She grabbed his cock through his pants and felt his hardness. "You’d never let me sleep alone, would you?"

With a quick intake of his breath, he almost jumped when she slid her hand between his legs. He knew she’d be an eager one. "My lovely, I can't understand how any man could ever leave your bed. I confess, I’d never get any work done if you were mine."

He kissed her neck, leaving a wet trail on her skin as he worked his way to her lips.

"John...show me how you’d never leave me lonely."

She slid her hand in his hair, and felt his lips close to hers. Snaking out her tongue, Rissa licked around the edges of his lips, and then kissed him softly. Releasing the kiss, she jumped off the bed and stood with her back to him, her hands over her face. "Oh, I can’t believe I said that. What must you think of me? I’m so sorry. I just need someone..."

Ashton couldn’t believe his luck! She was practically begging him to take her. He stood and removed his tie, letting it drop to the floor. He started to unbutton his shirt. "Please. Don’t apologize to me. I can't believe what a fool Canton is. I promise you, my lovely, you won’t leave here tonight doubting how desirable you are."

Rissa moved in for the kill. Reaching around to unzip her dress, she moaned as she pretended to struggle with the zipper and watched as he moved to help her. "Your hands, their so strong, so commanding."
