Dating the Boss (Blue Harbor #2)(41)
Author: Jaclyn Osborn

The card wasn’t signed, but I knew who’d sent them. Tears welled in my eyes as I glanced up from the card and looked at Daniel’s office. I hopped up and knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

I walked inside, shutting and locking the door behind me, and approached Daniel at his desk.

“Is everything okay?” he asked, tilting his head up to me once I reached his chair.

I grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him. He froze a moment before kissing me back, smiling against my mouth. His hands moved to my hips as I straddled him, and I felt him get hard. Fuck, I was hard too.

If we weren’t at work, I would’ve stripped him out of that suit and fucked him right there on his desk. However, he had a meeting soon. Definitely not enough time to have my wicked way with him.

Minutes passed as we heavily made out. I wasn’t the best with words sometimes, but I wanted him to know how much I appreciated the kind gesture.

“Thank you for the roses,” I mumbled against his kiss-swollen lips.

Daniel’s expression softened as he caressed my cheek. “You’re welcome. I worried it was too cheesy.”

“Not cheesy at all.” I laid my head on his shoulder, breathing him in. He smelled like warm spice with just a hint of his aftershave. “It’s the first time anyone’s ever gotten me flowers. I love them.”

As the L word fell from my lips, heat gathered in my belly and spread up to my chest. The roses weren’t the only thing I loved. But there was no way in hell I could tell him. He’d think it was too soon.

“You should get to your meeting,” I said, sliding off his lap. I adjusted myself, trying to be subtle about it.

“You do this to me and expect me to go to a meeting?” Daniel motioned to the bulge of his crotch. A fucking big bulge.

“What time is it?”

“Eleven fifteen,” he answered after checking his watch. “Why?”

I dropped to my knees in front of him and unbuckled his belt.

“What are you doing?”

“Think you can come in ten minutes?” I asked, grinning up at him as I tugged down his pants.

His nostrils flared and his breathing quickened a bit. “If you’re really good, you’ll make me come in seven.”

“I’ll make it five,” I said, gripping his thick base. “You’re so hard.”

“And you’re to blame.”

“Sorry, not sorry.”

“Stop giving me lip and put that pretty mouth to work,” Daniel said, touching my jaw before relaxing in his chair.

“You remind me of a mob boss,” I said, running my lips over the head of his cock. “Dressed to the nines in your sexy suit and bossing me around.”

“You read too many books.”

“Impossible.” I slowly stroked him from root to tip. “You can never read too many.”

“True.” He smirked and arched a brow. “My dick won’t suck itself.”

“Fuck, that was hot,” I said before slipping the swollen head between my lips.

As his salty flavor burst on my tongue, I moaned to add vibration to his tip and stroked his shaft. I fucked him with my mouth and sucked him without mercy. A guy I fooled around with in the past said I had a magical mouth when it came to sucking cock because I had little to no gag reflex. And I certainly put it to good use with Daniel. Four and a half minutes in and he was already on the edge.

“Reed,” he groaned, tightly gripping my hair as his big body started to tense. “Holy shit. I’m coming.”

I had heard his moans when we were alone, so I knew he was holding them back as his cock twitched and shot his load down my throat. I swallowed every last drop, making eye contact with him as I did.

“Have a good meeting,” I said, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand.

Daniel tucked himself back into his pants, his chest moving quickly with his short breaths. Then he pulled me in for a kiss and murmured against my lips, “Thank you. I wish I had time to take care of you too.”

“You can make it up to me later.” I pecked him on the lips again before standing up. “Quinn is cooking me dinner, and you’re coming with me. That wasn’t a request, by the way.”

“Is that so?” Daniel stood from his chair and slipped his arms around my waist. “You’re ordering me around, now?”

“Yep. You might be the smokin’ hot mob boss, but I’m the one really calling the shots.”

“Can’t argue with you there.” He brushed the bangs off my forehead and gave me the kind of smile that had my stomach doing flips. “I’ll see you after my meeting.”

When I returned to my desk—after making a quick trip to the bathroom, for reasons—Jennifer and two other coworkers, Whitney and Cameron, were standing in front of my roses.

“Who are the flowers from?” Jennifer asked.

“A boyfriend?” Cameron added.

“Or is it a stalker?” Whitney asked, then shrugged when everyone looked at her. “What? I watch a lot of serial killer documentaries.”

“Boyfriend,” I answered, gently swatting them out of my way so I could sit at my desk. Saying the word out loud felt a lot better than I thought it would. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d ever actually called a guy that.

“What’s his name?” Cameron asked.

“Is he older or younger than you?” Whitney chimed in.

“Older,” I answered. “But not by much.”

“Okay, okay. Enough,” Jennifer said, guiding both of them away from me. “Let’s give the man some breathing room.” But she gave me a look over her shoulder that said she’d be back later to get all the juicy details.

I shook my head with a smile and got back to work.

My heart was so damn full.

“Should I have changed into something more casual?” Daniel asked as we pulled into Quinn’s house later that afternoon. He looked down at his suit. “I feel overdressed.”

“Better to be overdressed than under,” I said, gently squeezing his hand. “You look great. I love you in a suit.”

“You look amazing in them too,” he growled, taking hold of my chin. “But you’re absolutely gorgeous no matter what you wear.” He dipped his head to kiss the area below my ear.

I sighed happily and rested my cheek on his. “We should go inside before Quinn sends a search party. We’re already running late.”

“That’s not my fault,” Daniel said, shutting off the car and opening his door. “You’re the one who attacked me right before we were supposed to leave.”

“The birthday boy wanted some dick. Sue me.”

Daniel chuckled and rested his hand at the small of my back as we walked up the stone path to the front porch. The door opened as soon as we reached it.

“Happy Birthday, you sassy bitch,” Monty said, pulling me in for a hug. He was hot as usual, his dark hair in a preppy style, and he was wearing a faded Texas State sweatshirt.

“Thanks.” I walked into the house with Daniel right behind me. Then I introduced them. “Monty, this is Daniel Sawyer.”

“The big bad boss I’ve heard so much about,” Monty said, shaking Daniel’s hand. “Nice to meet you, man.”
