All I can say is this: my nana is one shrewd, cunning woman.
It was a setup.
And I shoulda known. It wasn’t her first time.
By the time she got to us, Nana was a master matchmaker.
It worked like a charm.
I got my woman. Nana got her great-grandbabies.
And the world got a nice big dose of Alexi smut.
I’m proud of her. She’s an amazing woman, to put up with me. She’s a wonderful mother to our three children. And she can pen one hell of a love story.
As for me?
Happily retired.
And just simply happy.
“Well?” Alexi pipes up. “What do you think?”
I hold up one finger, indicating I’m still reading. I’m not quite as fast as she is. No one is. When I get to the end I look up, drinking her in. Hot damn. After five years she’s still the most stunning image my eyes behold.
“Dang, kitten.” I lower the manuscript into my lap. I’m not saying I’m as good as I once was, but I can still try for a devastating smirk. I proffer it. She blushes. I mean it one hundred percent when I say, “Very nice.”
