Dark Genius : A Forced Proximity Mafia Romance(20)
Author: Joanna Rose

“Do… do you want to talk about it?” he asked.

She shook her head, and Lorenzo was ready to let the matter drop. He could only imagine what was stirring in her brain, and he simply sipped his coffee as she finally finished and plated the food.

“Breakfast is served,” she said. Lorenzo’s mouth watered at the sight of the fluffy stack and the crisp bacon before him.

“Just the butter, right?” he asked.

“Trust me. You won’t be sorry.”

Heeding her advice, he slathered the hotcakes in butter. Waiting a second or so, letting the pale-yellow pads start to melt and run toward the rim of the plate, he finally seized his knife and fork. The former was hardly necessary as the pancakes was so moist, and when he took the first taste, he groaned his approval.

“Good, right?” she said.

“Good doesn’t even begin to describe it,” he said. “It’s a work of art.”

“And I have plans for lunch and dinner, too.”

While a part of him looked forward to the upcoming meals, and any snacks in between, he saw her play with the food on her plate, never bringing the fork to her mouth.

“Michelle?” he carefully asked, reaching across the table and caressing her wrist with a light touch. “You okay?”

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I’m trying to make the best of this.”

“It’s far from best,” he said, agreeing with her basic point. “But at least we’re not in it alone.”

Just looking up, her eyes grew soft as she clutched his hand in hers. “Agreed,” she said. “Now eat up before it gets cold.”

Lorenzo did not protest, polishing off the plate and reaching for seconds.

“So… what now?” she asked as she watched him eat with pleasure.

“Well, we need to watch our step.”

“I know. I meant more in a literal sense, as in what do you want to do now? Have you actually looked out the back window?”

Admitting that he hadn’t, Lorenzo pushed away from the table and walked to the far window. With one glance, he saw a sloping hill leading down to a small pond under the cover of trees. Definitely at least a quarter mile away from the house, but it still seemed safe enough, and he returned to the kitchen.

“Care to go for a swim?” he suggested.

She brightened considerably as she nodded her head.

“Do… don’t you want to get changed or—”

“This is less to take off,” she said.

A bulge in his shorts was evidence of his approval and they headed out of the house after locking the front door.

“We might want to watch our step,” he started to say when Michelle forcefully shook her head and quickened her pace.

“No. Let’s run!”

She didn’t wait for him to respond one or way or the other as she heightened her pace and kept his hand close. Lorenzo felt his bare feet grow wet against the dew-soaked blades of grass. She kept holding his hand until they reached the edge of the pond.

Only then did she loosen her grip.

“Can you swim?” she asked as she started to remove her robe.

“Of course I can,” he scoffed. “Why would you even ask?”

“Just being cautious,” she said with a smile, suddenly standing before him in all her nakedness as she stretched her arms over her head.

“Jersey shore for me,” she sighed. “Pop took me every summer.”

“My zio did the same,” Lorenzo responded.

“No waves crashing here.” She tipped her toe into the calm water and shuddered some. “It’s cold!” she squealed.

“Can’t you take it?” he challenged.

“Oh, I can take it.” Michelle dove in.

Lorenzo saw her agile form disappear under the ripples. He held his breath for a moment or so until she rose like a mermaid, the water coming off her hair in crystal droplets as she laughed and beckoned him forward.

“Water’s actually fine!” she chirped. “Are you going to join me or what?”

She didn’t need to ask him a second time. He stripped and swam toward her, finding her legs under the water as he started to kiss his way up her torso until he found her mouth.

“Hello,” he murmured before kissing her again.

“Hello to you, too.” She wound her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. Her legs mingled with his under the water, and she nipped at his neck before her mouth moved to his ear.

“I never said thank you,” she said.

“For what?” he asked as he pecked her wet hair.

“For saving my life.”

He pulled back and found her eyes. Lorenzo stroked her cheek and pressed his brow to hers.

“I don’t want anything to happen to you,” he said in a thick voice.

“I want to get back to Brooklyn,” she admitted. He pushed back, expecting to see her eyes filling with tears. Instead, her face was adorned with a smile. “But if I have to be stuck in the sticks, you’re definitely good company.”

He said nothing else as he kissed her again and pulled her under the water. A beam of sunshine cut through the water, and he caught sight of her face, serene and moving slowly under the air. With more than enough breath still in his lungs, he crushed his lips to hers, feeling her body grow stronger in his arms and only wanting to have her all over again.

Sensing his need, Michelle swam to the edge of the short pier and pulled herself up. She laid back, resting her body weight on her elbows, and slowly spread her legs.

Enzo powered through the water and brought himself up to the dock with one fluid motion. Dripping wet, he looked hungrily at what she offered. He was already hard and more than ready.

“I can still feel you,” she said, clasping his neck and dragging her lips across his face. “I need to feel you again.”

His hands ran down her back, cupping her ass as her legs swirled around his hips. He entered her immediately, groaning as he sank into her. “Feel this, baby?”

Michelle moaned her answer as she brought her face to his shoulder. Her kisses found him there, and she dug her nails into his back.

He winced but savored the small second of pain as he thrusted harder and faster and watched her head fall back. Her hold slackened as her essence opened and that was when he pushed, going even deeper inside of her. Her tight warmth squeezed him, and he knew he wouldn’t last long. He gripped her ass even tighter, pulling her into him and felt her raise her legs higher, letting him go ever deeper.

The hard, passionate fuck ended nearly as quickly as it had started; neither able to last against the delicious friction and deep penetration. He grunted as he spilled his hot load in her, while she gasped her way through a climax, pressing hard against him.

When she looked up to meet his eyes once more, she smiled. When he was able to focus again, he saw her smile and kissed her.

After catching her breath, Michelle picked up the conversation where it had left off. “If we have to be stuck out here,” she repeated, “let’s make this part of the morning routine. But I could do with drying off,” she said. “Maybe a shower?”

She lifted her eyebrows around the question, and Lorenzo did not argue as he helped her up from the pier. Their bodies were still damp as they donned their clothes and took the long way back to the farmhouse to avoid the slips and slants in the ground.
