Dirty Aces MC Box Set #1(61)
Author: Lane Hart

“So you want my sister, huh? Too bad,” he says with a grin. “She promised me she was done with you.”

Goddamn it.

“We’ll see about that,” I tell him. “Where does she work?”

“Why should I tell you?” he asks like a total moron.

“Because if you tell me, we’ll let both of your arms and legs keep working,” I explain.

“Fair enough,” he says, swallowing audibly. “Jetta got a job at one of those waterparks in town.”

“Which one?”

“Fuck, I can’t remember,” he grumbles, scrubbing his palm down his sweaty face. “I think she said that they have a shark mascot or something.”

“Okay. What else?” I ask.

“What else? What do you mean what else?” he snaps.

“Why did she change her hair?” I ask curiously. “Does she do that often?”

“Huh?” he mutters at the same time Fiasco chuckles.

“Answer the fucking question!” I yell at him while punching the side of his car with my fist. “Her hair was purple a few weeks ago, and now it’s blonde. Or has she changed it again already?”

“Yeah, I guess her hair is blonde,” he says with his brow furrowed. “I don’t know why she changes it! I guess it’s because she wants to do hair like professionally or whatever.”

“Good. That’s good to know,” I reply even though I’m not sure why. It’s just something I didn’t know about her before and now I do.

“She’s not going to fuck you again,” Sean says confidently. “Not unless I tell her she can. And I won’t unless you forgive my debt.”

“Oh fuck off,” I tell him. “You owe the Dirty Aces every single penny you bet on and not a dime less, fucker. I wouldn’t forgive it even if I could. Now get your ass to work so you can pay it off and we can be done with your sorry ass.”

Jetta

* * *

It’s another record-breaking day of our heat wave; and while I’m surrounded by water, I’m not allowed to actually cool off in it unless someone, god forbid, is drowning.

So far, after working at the water park for several weeks, I haven’t had to do any rescuing because most parents keep an eye on the little kids and the water isn’t that deep for the adults.

As usual, sweat is dripping down my back and the crack of my ass like a fountain by mid-afternoon when a group of men come waltzing in like they own the place. Some of them didn’t even bother to put on boardshorts, wearing cutoff denim instead. From high up in my lifeguard stand, I can tell the group is in great shape, lean with cuts of muscles. I can also see tons of ink but am unable to make out what the tattoos depict. And when the one with black, ear-length hair puts his hand up to shield his eyes while tilting his head up in my direction, it doesn’t take long for me to recognize him.

Devlin.

How the hell did he find me?

Sean must have blabbed! That’s the only possible explanation.

When he lifts his hand and waves at me with a grin, I pretend to ignore him, glad to have the dark sunglasses shielding my eyes.

In fact, he’s a distraction I really don’t need here. What if someone needs me?

There’s a lot of movement around the chairs occupied by Devlin and his friends. Apparently, none of the parental figures want their kids near them. Some relocate to the other side of the wave pool while others pack up their shit and leave the entire park.

If nothing else, that right there should tell me the reputation these men have. They are a bunch of motorcycle club thugs and everyone but me knows that. Well, except for a few young women who gravitate toward the hot bikers. Not that I can blame them since I did the same thing myself just a few weeks ago, which I now know was incredibly stupid.

For the next half hour, I occasionally sneak glances at Devlin when he gets into the water, his chiseled six-pack sparkling with droplets in the sun. So, of course, I see him approach my chair before he grabs the front of the stand and says, “Hi, Jetta.”

“Hello, Devlin,” I reply. “Nice group of friends you’ve got there. They sure do know how to clear the place out.”

“Ah, yeah,” he says as he glances back toward the lounge chairs that are now mostly empty. “Guess we have somewhat of a reputation.”

“No kidding. You’re thugs who carry guns, beat people up in their own homes, and steal from them! I really wish I had known all of that before I slept with you.”

“That’s not the full story,” he tells me. “Although, I’m not surprised it’s the only side you’ve heard from your brother. But Sean James doesn’t get a free pass just because his sister is hot and let me fuck her in public before she knew my name.”

“Go away, Devlin. I’m working.”

“What’s the matter?” he asks, not budging even an inch. “You don’t like being reminded of how hot you got that night when I rubbed your pussy with ice? Or how you screamed when I went down on you and made you come all over my face?”

“I’m working here, and there are small kids around!” I warn him through gritted teeth, annoyed that my body perked right up at the reminder of the things we did together.

Ignoring me, he goes on to say, “That night is all I’ve thought about for weeks.”

I have to get rid of him, not only because I don’t want to get fired if my boss comes out and sees us talking, but because I cannot let myself go down that road again.

“Did you and Rob Lawrence have fun without me after I left that morning?”

I’m pretty sure Devlin’s face pales as he lets go of my chair and takes a step backward.

“What? No!” he exclaims. “I left right after you did.”

“Really? Because I had to wait around awhile for my ride, and you didn’t get off his bus before I left.”

“You must’ve missed me,” he says. “Whatever. See ya, Jetta,” he adds before he hurries back to his group, making me wonder what did happen on the tour bus after I left. I know Rob was hoping for more with Devlin, but Dev shot him down. Did he change his mind by morning?

And god, why does the thought of Devlin and Rob together make me so wet? My traitorous body shouldn’t have that kind of reaction for the asshole who beats up and steals from my brother.

I really need to get out and date more.

Chapter Twelve

Devlin

* * *

“That lifeguard you were talking to is hot as fuck,” Silas says when I flop back down into my lounge chair, making me want to knock all of his teeth out.

“Dev fucked her at the concert a few weeks back,” Fiasco informs Silas and Wirth, who also wanted to spend a rare day off by the pool. Wirth is a full-time auto mechanic; and, for all I know, Silas could be a lion tamer or a snake wrangler in his free time. The dude is strange as hell. But back to the topic at hand…

“And I’m going to fuck Jetta again in the near future, so don’t even think about it,” I warn the guys.

“Really?” Fiasco asks. “She sounded pretty pissed at you that day at James’ house.”
