Formula (The Driven World)(27)
Author: J.M. Kelley

Her lips part and she cries out my name. Her muscles contract, squeezing my dick like a vise. I continue to drive inside her, hard and deep.

“Yes…yes.” She writhes underneath me, her fingers digging into my flesh. “Jace!” she cries out, her back arching off the bed. Her pussy clamps down, milking my cock over and over.

“Oh, fuck.” I shudder, burying my face in her neck. My body tenses, as I swell inside her, my orgasm ripping through me like lightning. A hoarse growl erupts from my throat, my cock pulsing as I empty myself inside her.

Her tender hand threads through my damp hair, our sweaty bodies staying connected for a moment. My first thought as I come back down to earth—attempting to learn how to breathe again—is fuck, we didn’t use a condom. My second thought is fuck, because I’m developing some pretty deep feelings for her. I’m so screwed.

I carefully roll off of her, and fall on to the bed alongside her, both of us still breathing rapidly.

“That was…fun,” she giggles.

“That was definitely fun,” I chuckle. “Be right back.” I give her a chaste kiss on her lips before I slide off the bed and make my way to the bathroom. I clean myself, and quickly return with a warm washcloth for her.

“Uh…you’re not cleaning me with that.” She smirks, reading my mind. “I can do it. Hand it over.”

I lob the cloth over to her with a grin, and it lands on the center of her chest. “Jerk.” She chuckles as I grab the two mini water bottles off the room service tray and hand her one, slipping back into bed next to her. “You should know…you’re safe. I’m on birth control.” She uncaps her bottle and takes a long swig.

“I figured. I saw your pills in your bathroom, when they were installing the alarm. I’m sorry, I should have made sure.” I’m not sure why the fact she’s on birth control makes me think of other guys she may be sleeping with, and it pisses me off. I have no right to be irritated. And why do I not give two shits if she’s on birth control or not? My emotions are all tangled up inside like a fisherman’s knot.

“I could have stopped you. I’m not sorry.” She places the bottle on the nightstand and rolls over into me, resting her head on my chest. “It’s a good thing I’m not driving tomorrow.”

“Why’s that?”

“Because my legs are numb.”

I laugh. “My humor is rubbing off on you.”

“I could think of other things I’d like rubbing off on me.” She slowly circles her fingertips across my abdomen, my dick already starting to rebound. “Unless you still think I’m an ice queen?”

“What?”

“Last night in your drunken confession, you mentioned I was an ice queen.”

“I don’t think I said that.” I nestle her in close to me, stroking her silky hair.

“I’m pretty sure you did.”

“If anyone’s ice, it’s me.” I lift her chin so I can kiss her. “This pretty mouth on mine is the only things able to thaw me out.” Her lips on me; her touch is perfection. I’m falling for her, and I can’t find the willpower to stop it. I think about her all the time. I worry about her safety when I’m not with her.

We settle into a comfortable silence, wrapped in a warm embrace. This is so much more than sex. By the stillness, Charlotte’s wheels are turning as fast as mine. “You’re overthinking,” I say, wanting to know where her head’s at.

There’s a long silence before she speaks. “This is all happening fast for me, but I can’t seem to resist you.”

I’m falling for her too, but I’m not sure where it’s going. I ignore the booming voice in my head telling me this girl could be my happiness.

“My life is…complicated. And you’re pretty busy with your career right now. If anyone finds out about us, I won’t be able to protect you. I’m not willing to sacrifice your safety. Moving forward…we should keep things professional.” I don’t want her to doubt what this means to me, but I’m unable to give her everything she deserves. I should tell her about Kylie, but what does it matter? The job will be over eventually, and we’ll both move on.

“I understand.” Her long silence tells me she doesn’t. “I won’t jeopardize your job.”

“Nothing will ever compromise me keeping you safe.”

“Look, we had some fun. Just because we have to spend time together doesn’t mean we can’t remain…” She rolls away from me to grab her water bottle. “…professional,” she says with sarcasm in her tone.

“You deserve more than what I’m offering.”

She sighs. “I get it, Jace. I’m broken too. We have a couple one-night stands. We give ourselves this weekend. I need this. Monday morning you go back to being my big bad bodyguard. And when this is all said and done—we go our separate ways.”

“This doesn’t feel like a one-night stand,” I say in a soft tone.

“Look, Jace…I watched my fiancé die two years ago. I’m sad all the time. I’m moody and angry, and you deserve better. Give me this weekend. It's all I’m asking you for.”

I don’t know what to say for the longest time, I just hold her. Until her stomach growls. “We should eat those cold burgers.” She sits up and climbs over me, straddling my hips, resting her hands on my chest. “Or I could order you something else if you want.”

She rubs her pussy against my already stiff cock, sliding back and forth, making us both groan. “Let’s go again. We can eat later.”

“Before we continue this, I at least need a snack.” I wrap my hands around her waist, urging her up. “Get up here and sit on my face. I’ve been dying to taste you since our first night. You ran out, and I never got the pleasure.”

Let’s see if I can’t make this sexy little race car driver scream.

I’m fairly certain I’m fucked. I want to give her all the one-more-times. I can’t resist this beautiful racer, and I’m pretty sure she’s going to bring me trouble. But I can’t find the strength to care. For the first time in my life, I wish I had more of me to give.

Why do I feel like things are about to become complicated?

Chapter Fourteen

Charlotte

Professional. That’s the only way to describe how the past week with Jace has been. No hanky-panky. No monkey business. No two-person push-ups here. I’m currently in the friend zone with my hot bodyguard.

Have I mentioned how hot he is, and how I want to climb him like a tree every time he’s around? Makes for a lot of late-night bean flicking. It’s like Jace opened up some sexual portal on my body, and I’m walking around in a constant state of horniness.

I can’t worry about my stupid hormones right now, no matter how good the man standing next to me smells. I need to remain focused. I let out a harsh sigh as the crew frantically works on my car. We’re at Barber Alabama Motorsports Park, and it’s qualifying day.

“You okay?” Jace mutters. I’m sure he senses how anxious I am. Nobody wanted to talk to me after the disappointing track time I had this week.
