A shiver ran across her skin. He’d noticed her reaction when Caleb said those words to her.
“Bedtime,” Caleb told them. “She’s exhausted.”
Wolfe nodded. It was way past her bedtime. He stood then held out his hand to help her up. She stared at his hand with a dazed expression then slipped her hand into his. He helped her stand, holding her steady. She turned and half-stumbled her way towards Caleb who helped her into bed.
Wolfe pulled on his boxers and pants.
“You staying?” Caleb asked.
Wolfe looked over at Caleb who was climbing into bed. Genevieve lay in the middle of the bed, watching him with sleepy eyes.
Could he stay? Should he?
He wanted to. If he couldn’t sleep or there was too much contact, then he could leave.
“All right. I’ll sleep in the chair, though.” He wasn’t quite ready to sleep with them all in the bed.

But he left, quickly mixing up the drink and putting it back in the big baby’s bottle. He also grabbed his blanket from his room.
When he returned, the shower was off but Aleki hadn’t appeared out of the bathroom yet. The only light was coming from the nightlight.
“She’s basically asleep,” Caleb whispered.
Wolfe nodded, sat next to her, placed the bottle against her lips. The bathroom door opened and Aleki walked out. He stilled, staring down at them.
“Not sure she’ll drink it,” Caleb told him.
“Babies drink in their sleep. I think she just might.”
She started sucking, drinking down half the bottle. He slipped the nipple out of her mouth then opened a bedside drawer, pulling out her pacifier. He placed it against her lips. She opened her mouth and started sucking lightly.
Caleb gave him a surprised look. “I didn’t know about this.”
“Sorry, meant to tell you. Thought it might help stop her grinding her teeth in her sleep. She slept with it last night.”
He climbed off the bed. “You sleep with her. I’m taking the chair,” he told Aleki.
“You sure?”
Nodding, he settled on the chair with his weighted blanket. And fell asleep quicker than he had in years.

Aleki leaned against the counter, drinking water and watching her.
