While You Were Sleepwalking (Sprung Like Spring #2)(8)
Author: J. D. Light

Yes, I craved his touch more than ever now, but regardless of the fact that he'd told me I could do whatever I wanted to him, it didn't feel right. Well, it felt really right, like really, really right, but the man had no idea what he was doing.

I tried one more time to shake him awake, gripping his hip and nearly ripping his fingers from my hole I shook him so hard, but he rolled his hips, grinding further into me instead.

When the wet head of his dick rubbed against me, letting me know that his dick had somehow made it at least partially out of his pants, I knew I had to do something… so I elbowed him in the ribs… hard.

He grunted and I cringed, hating myself for that almost as much as I did for fucking him while he was sleepwalking. I rolled quickly, dislodging his fingers, and moving away from his body just a bit.

"Oh shit, Ave. I'm sorry," I said, doing my best to make my voice sound normal instead of like I'd been seconds away from letting my best friend fuck me. "I was dreaming."

He groaned and rolled out of bed, walking toward the bathroom. "You're fine, Arch. I know you didn't mean to," he said, making me feel guilty all over. "Your dream must have been completely different from mine," he said on a laugh before shutting the door.

"Oh, fuck me," I groaned into the dark. "We still have two more nights."

Chapter Four

That scent. In the light of the morning, the events of the night before made no more sense than they had to my mostly asleep brain. But that fucking scent. It was the same scent I'd woken up to after being sick. The scent I'd woken up to when Archer had admitted something had happened between us.

I hadn't wanted to push him, because he'd been so embarrassed, but I had to admit I was extremely curious about what had happened during my little bout of sleepwalking. What he'd let me do to him and had done in return.

In all my heated fantasies, I'd imagined all kinds of things. All my dreams lately, before and after that night… and during, had been the kind that you woke up from sweating and covered in your own come. In fact, the one from that night had been so vivid, I still had a hard time thinking about it around him, because I'd get so fucking turned on.

I'd been having one of those dreams last night when Archer had elbowed me. And then to wake up with that incredibly alluring scent on my fingers, it was hard not to think that there was a connection. I'd put it off as the scent of his shampoo or something last time, but I'd gone and smelled every bottle in his shower and then moved on to the rest of the house, and there was nothing like it anywhere.

But after last night… Could it be from his body? Could it be… no. Surely, if I'd had my fingers in his ass, he'd have… no, he wouldn't do that. But if that scent… It had been on my face! Surely…

It was not the time to think about all that. Eventually, I might get the courage to ask Archer about all that stuff, but thinking about it in a room full of people was a bad idea.

We were sitting in the living room of the lodge. Ronni was recovering from a hangover in one of the chairs while her boyfriend sat on the arm, watching the odd flirtation of Evan and Scout, looking slightly horrified.

It was probably pretty odd for somebody who'd never been around the two. Someone who didn't know what everybody but them seem to know already. They were crazy about each other, but it was going to take a freaking miracle for either one of them to admit it.

Until then, they were just going to keep up the incessant foreplay that we were all forced to witness. Like right then.

They were on the couch across from Archer and me, and if I had children in the room, I'd be covering their eyes.

Archer was beside me, sitting a little further away than normal, but also mostly asleep since, though he pretended he was sleeping when I got back from the bathroom the night before, I knew what he was like when he was actually sleeping. He'd stayed like that most of the night.

I was playing on my phone, trying to ignore the idiots across from us as they practically dry humped each other in the middle of the living room surrounded by both of their families, and pretending like I didn't notice every move Archer made.

I didn't know what it was lately that made it impossible for me to not notice him. We'd been friends for twelve years, and though I'd always, always wished we could be more, I'd managed to make it this long without doing something stupid. But lately, it was like I'd lost all control.

It was like a wall that I'd built to protect my friendship had crumbled. I didn't know if it was the sudden tension in the air that went both ways, or the fact that he admitted to inappropriate behavior while I was high on drugs and sleepwalking, therefore admitting––at least partially––that there was some level of attraction there. It truly didn't matter what it was that had broken, all that mattered now, was that I desperately needed to find a way to fix it.

It was getting harder, and harder every day not to take our casual touches and turn them into something else, not to lean down while we were in the middle of a discussion and pressed my mouth to his.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Archer make a face, before leaning over, pressing his shoulder to my arm and tilting his head back to whisper. "I don't know about you, but I'm like super disturbed at the fact that I'm pretty sure those two are actually dry humping on the couch right in front of us."

I glanced over at the other couch, surprised but not really at the display before me. The fact that Ronni hadn't caught on yet was a testament to just how hungover she was. And I didn't know how any of the aunts and parents hadn't noticed, especially since it seemed like they noticed everything, but if somebody didn't stop this soon, those two were going embarrass us all.

Cringing, I glanced down at Archer, knowing if Evan and Scout were making me uncomfortable when I wasn't technically related to either one of them, he was definitely uncomfortable considering Evan was his brother.

I chuckled at the expression on Archer's face when he turned to look at me. It was pure disgust.

I bit my lip, my eyes moving to his mouth just as he snaked his tongue out to lick his bottom lip.

You're killing me, Arch.

Evan rolled up off the couch quickly, drawing our attention back over to the two idiots. Scout scrambled up, trying to cover his junk. Evan barely gave him time to take a breath before he was picking the omega up and throwing him over his shoulder, grumbling something about a family meeting.

There was a little arguing back and forth between him and Ronni, but in the end, I think she was too hungover to give chase. Which was probably good, considering I didn't think that her following them was going to stop whatever was about to go down there.

The rest of the weekend went fairly normally for one of the family reunions. Turned out, Evan and Scout finally got their miracle while playing a trick on Tanner who was apparently unaware the entire time that they were not actually related, and so thought that their flirting and eventual fucking was incest. To think, all the years of heated looks and definite sexual tension, and in the end all that was needed for the two of them to finally come together was a common goal. It said a lot about the both of them that the goal that they had shared was one to freak Ronni's boyfriend out by making him think they were being incestuous.
