Wynter (Silver Skates #1)(38)
Author: Mia Harlan

“Where are you going, Wyn?” Ghost calls out as I jump to my feet and rush by him.

“I need to make a few calls,” I shout over the celebratory crowd. “And then, we’re going to catch a thief.”

Chapter Eighteen

Zoe

After the game, we pile into Ghost’s car—all except Xavi, who tells us he’ll walk—and head to O’Malley’s. A bunch of other players are already there, and we stop to chat with them until the ice block shifter arrives.

We choose a rounded booth by the bar and slide inside. Me in the middle, Ghost on my left, Xavi on my right, and Leith to his right.

A bunch of hockey players drop by while we wait for our food. Fans run over to get Leith’s autograph, or take selfies for Screech. But once our food arrives, we finally get some much-needed privacy, and I go over our thief-catching plan.

“Hey, not bad.” Xavi grins when I’m done. “I think that might actually work.”

“I know it will work,” Ghost tells him. “Because our Wyn’s brilliant.”

My cheeks flush as Leith raises his beer and the guys clink glasses, their heated gazes zeroed in on me.

Since all thief-catching will have to wait until tomorrow night, we stick around at the bar long after the other players leave. Ghost and I catch up and share slow, sweet kisses that I feel down to my toes. Xavi holds my hand, his fingers threaded through mine, and only lets me go when Leith asks him to switch seats. And then, my hockey player pulls me onto his lap, gives me a hard, rough kiss, and shifts into a bee. Then brags about bee control when he shifts back without getting squashed.

The guys spend a lot of time talking amongst themselves, too. They laugh, share stories, and slowly get to know one another. And the longer I watch them get along like this, the more warm and squishy I feel inside.

At one point, Leith and Xavi step out of the booth to chat by the bar while I tell Ghost about how I apprehended the vampire who made Snowball. The story involves using a round cage as a bowling ball and making the vamp face-plant in the middle of the lab… a story Ghost thoroughly enjoys.

We’re both grinning when I glance at the bar and spot Leith talking to a teammate. He sees me watching, grins, says something to the other player, and joins us in the booth. Where he kisses me until my toes curl.

“Ready to go, baby?” he asks, sliding out of the booth.

“Sure. But where’s Xavi?” I ask, since there’s no ice block shifter in sight.

“He had to go pick up a few things. It’s a surprise.” Leith grins and pulls me to my feet.

Ghost slides out of the booth, too, but hesitates, then licks his lower lip. “Wyn, if you want to call it a night…”

I swallow hard. Because the thought of him leaving, even if I’ll see him again, makes my chest ache.

“I think what he’s trying to say is he’d like to spend the night with you. We both would.”

“You would?” My heart leaps and my belly somersaults.

“Of course,” Ghost nods. “That is, if you want me to. I don’t want to pressure you. Or rush things.”

Leith snorts. “He means he thinks you’re hot. And he’s trying to be a gentleman.”

“I don’t want you to be a gentleman.” I blush. “I just want you.”

I lean up on tiptoe and kiss Ghost until a wolf whistle from the vicinity of the bar has us pulling apart. We grab our coats, head to Ghost’s car, and Leith gives him directions to the Royal Inn.

I’m excited before we even get there. I’d heard it looks like a mini palace, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Leith leads the way up the staircase and knocks when we get to his room. Xavi opens the door, and I gasp.

The room is huge, with large bay windows and a set of glass doors that reveal a sweeping balcony and the moonlit gardens outside. But what has my attention are the rose petals surrounded by candles that are arranged into a giant heart on the floor.

“You did this for me?” I ask, tears springing to my eyes.

“Does that mean you like it?” Xavi asks hopefully.

“I love it.” I throw my arms around his neck and pull him in for a tight hug.

“You deserve romance,” Leith adds. “Dinner, candles, rose petals. And a whole lot of orgasms.”

And just like that, I’m more than a little wet. And picturing all the different ways I could be orgasming with my guys.

Xavi takes my coat, and I watch Leith and Ghost remove theirs while my heart beats wildly in my chest. And when all three of my guys surround me, their eyes taking me in from head to toe, my pulse spikes and I get the sudden urge to clench my thighs.

“So, how do we do this?” I swallow hard. Part of me just wants to tear my clothes off and beg the guys to fuck me, right here, right now.

“We start by getting you naked.” Leith gives me a small smile, and I grin, because he and I are on the same page.

He closes the distance between us and pulls my sweater over my head. Second time in one day. And then he kisses me. Rough. Hard. Fast. Right before he ice blocks and knocks over half the candles.

For a split second, I think we might burn down the Royal Inn. But then Ghost sends his wind to blow them all out, plunging us into darkness. Seconds later, the lights flicker on, but I don’t get a chance to find out if it’s magic or Xavi, because Ghost distracts me.

He brushes my hair aside and runs his lips along my neck and his hands up and down my back. And then Xavi’s there, in front of me, making love to my mouth with his.

I gasp, then gasp again as Ghost unsnaps my bra. I try to focus on Xavi’s kiss, but Ghost distracts me. Pulls the straps slowly off my shoulders and lets my bra fall to the floor.

My heart pounds in my chest as his warm hands cup my breasts. Because, for the first time in forever, I feel his touch—and not just his air.

And speaking of air, a small gust of wind slides inside my jeans and flicks across my clit. Just once. Enough to make me cry out against Xavi’s lips.

My ice block shifter gives me one last gentle kiss and pulls back. “Zoe…” he says my name hesitantly. “Do you like ice?”

“Of course I like ice.” I reach for the hem of his shirt, but he places his hands on mine, stopping me.

Ghost circles my nipples with his thumbs, and I gasp.

“I meant in bed,” Xavi says.

“Huh?” I gasp as Ghost distracts me by sending another gust of air between my legs. This time, it tickles my clit—the tease—and I clench my thighs as I try to focus on Xavi’s words. “In bed?”

Xavi nods. “If you’ll let me.”

“Yeah… yes!” I cry as Ghost’s wind slips through my folds, slides inside me, and then dissipates.

Xavi gives me another quick kiss, pulls away, and Leith takes his place.

“My turn,” he growls, covering my mouth with his as he unsnaps the button on my jeans.

He shifts into a troll, his lips getting larger and fuller. Then, he grows a rough beard. But through it all, he’s still Leith. Always Leith. And his tongue is sliding into my mouth just as Ghost’s magic yanks my pants and panties down and swirls around my thighs.

It stops just shy of my clit, then surrounds me, lifting me and carrying me to the bed. Leith and Ghost follow, and Xavi joins us with a bowl of ice.
