Fuck him! Fuck him! Fuck him!

Call me your plaything and then fuck one of my friends? What the hell is his angle?

Fucking asshole. Motherfucker!

Okay, so I’ve had too much to drink tonight. And I think my brain short-circuited for a moment when he had me pinned against the wall earlier. Why does he smell so fucking good? Why does he look so fucking good?

It’s unfair. I’ve read so many books about the alpha male assholes and the heroines that melt in their arms when they’re told what to do.

I won’t be that girl.

Fuck him and his bullshit.

He wants to fuck Ophelia? Fine. Go ahead. She’s hot and sweet . . . Perfect body most women would kill for.

Shit, am I thinking about Blake or Ophelia here?

I try to shake that off as Knox’s tongue plunges into my mouth. His hand squeezes my ass, and I struggle to stay focused. Knox is hot. He’s fucking gorgeous. And kind. He’s not a fucking dick like Blake.

He would never play these games with me.

I let my hand slide under his shirt, grazing an impressive set of abs. He pulls back slightly, his hands resting on my hips as he looks into my eyes, but I don’t want to look at him.

I force myself not to follow the heated gaze I feel burning my skin from across the room. “Elle, you’ve been drinking.”

Please don’t be so nice to me. I shrug my shoulders and look at Knox, into his brown eyes I’m wishing were icy blue. “So have you. Everyone here has been.” I lean in my lips brushing across his. “It’s a party.”

His eyes look around the room as mine look over his shoulder and lock on Blake’s, staring right back at me like I knew they would be.

Icy blues strangling me from his position with Ophelia on the couch. They haven’t moved since I made my move and kissed Knox.

Knox’s attention is back on me as he speaks but mine is still on Blake. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

One nod of my head, sure and determined as my right hand cups the back of his head, my eyes shouting a “fuck you” to Blake as I close them and meet Knox’s hungry mouth with my own.

I shouldn’t use my boss to get back at Blake. It’s juvenile, but is it that wrong? Knox isn’t in love with me or anything, I’m just another warm body in the sea of bodies in this room. My back meets the wall as his mouth dips lower over my jaw then my neck, and I lean into it, my hands in his hair. But I make the mistake of opening my eyes and see Blake calling my bluff.

His lips on Ophelia’s, his large hands in her pretty hair nearly severs my heart in two, and I gasp, making Knox meet my eyes. “Are you okay?”

I nod, my nose brushing against his as our lips meet again. “I’m more than okay, Knox.” My hands slide over his stomach again, resting on the hem of his jeans, hooking a thumb in them and pulling him closer to me. “Don’t. Stop.”

My eyes slide to Blake, and I watch as Ophelia lies back on the couch, not totally lying flat, but close, and his body covers hers. She nearly disappears underneath him as his hand slides up her bare, tanned, toned thigh and disappear under the skirt of her dress.

You can do this, Elle. Do not let him get to you.

My hands slip under the soft fabric of Knox’s shirt and onto his toned back, pressing his body against mine. No one around us is watching, everyone is too busy with their own party, and it’s as if it’s only four of us are in the very crowded room.

I tilt my head to the side as I feel Knox’s stubble scrape the soft skin of my neck, and his lips dip to collar of my t-shirt. My fingers dig into his smooth flesh as I let out a soft whimper, encouraging him to move further.

My eyes narrow on Blake as he nips Ophelia’s neck, looking over her shoulder at me. His eyes full of fire as I give a calculated smile in his direction and lean my head back against the wall, Knox’s hand snaking under my shirt and cupping my breast over the cup of my bra.

I want this to feel good. I want to want this so fucking bad, but I can’t stop looking over his shoulder and watching them. My nipple pebbles from the friction as his thumb sweeps over it, but no real reaction from my body. There isn’t need there.

Blake’s hands are fucking everywhere. God only knows where Ophelia’s are, but I can hear her moans from over here, even over the music and all the people. And I don’t think I can handle knowing.

I want to fucking kill him. I want to tear him apart. I want to slap him and scream at him, but I want to feel his lips on me. I want his hands to be all over my body right now.

My head is swimming, and I’m regretting my own stupid decision to get involved in this stupid battle with Blake.

Of course, he’ll fucking win. He has zero feelings.

Knox’s lips meet mine once again, and I kiss him back, but it’s weak as I fight the confusion and regret, my hands resting on his hips lazily.

Fuck. Don’t do this. You’re stronger.

I drop my hands to his ass and kiss him back, nipping on his bottom lip and then slowly leaving little kisses down his neck, licking his Adam’s apple on my way down, pulling a hearty groan from between his lips as my hands find the button on his jeans.

My eyes flick over to the couch, and I see Blake, his arms holding him up, hovering over Ophelia’s body, all his muscles pulled tight, the vein in his forearm stretched and taut as his arms hold him up, but his eyes are trained on me, animalistic hunger and spine-tingling anger coming at me in waves from those beautiful eyes.

I double down and flick the button through the hole, unfastening Knox’s jeans. And Blake is off Ophelia in a flash and standing next to us, grabbing my hand and pulling my body to his.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” His chest is heaving, and he looks like a wild animal on the hunt.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Knox is understandably pissed as I handle it by separating the two with one arm and facing Blake as Ophelia joins us, tugging her dress down and catching her breath, her red lipstick smeared all to hell.

From his lips.

“I never kid, Blake.” I glare at him, deadly serious. “And I never back down.”

We’re both worked up, an electric charge between us I wouldn’t know how to fight if I tried. I think he’s going to say something, but he doesn’t. He just takes my hand and drags me down the hall, finding an open door and nearly shoving me through it with him.

He closes the door, leaving everyone else behind.

“You don’t want to fuck with me, Elle.”

He’s angrier than I thought he could get, his breathing still labored, his fists clenched at his sides, and the muscles of his arms flexed tight.

I take a step closer to him. The room is dark and quiet, but I think it’s Ophelia’s bedroom. I can make out a bed and a dresser. “Why not? I won.”

His hand wraps around my waist, tugging my body to his, and it feels good to be pressed against him. Too good. “You think so?” His thumb sweeps over my bottom lip as if he’s trying to make any trace of Knox disappear.

“I know so.” My throat is dry with the anticipation.

“How do you figure?” I can feel his eyes on me even in the dark as he looks down.

“You caved.” My voice is a harsh whisper. “You couldn’t stand his hands on me.”
