I grinned. “Me neither.”
Still, our two bare bodies in proximity to the bed led to a fun hour of slow but sweaty lovemaking before we took yet another shower and stared into the closet at our still relatively meager wardrobes.
I cocked my head at the selection. “What shall I wear?”
“It’s still pretty chilly in the evening. How about your pink sweater?” He flashed his teeth.
“You don’t think it’s too much of a statement?”
“Hey, considering the event, I’d say it was just right.”
We both dressed and then looked each other over, me inspecting Bubba’s new white sweater and him smoothing my pink one.
Funny how even the slightest touch from him still had the electric charge of two bodies inexorably pulled together. I blinked. “I love you.”
“Hey, guess what? I love you too.” He kissed my nose.
He held me close for long minutes and I basked in the sensation of joy.
I looked up. “Did you ever think we’d be going to something like this tonight?”
He shook his head. “Nope. Never crossed my mind. But ya know, considering everything that’s gone down in the past year between my frat bros and yours, I’d say it’s about time.”
I nodded. “Indeed. An inevitable conclusion. Apparently, forced proximity leads to decreased friction and increased understanding.”
“I love it when you talk dirty, baby.” Bubba laughed and pulled me out the door.
