How did I get here?
I keep asking myself that, and the truth is, I got here with a lot of love, a lot of support, and a lot of blessings.
This series started on a whim, and only three people knew about it: Krista Davis, Valerie Fink, and Jessica Baker. The pushed, pleaded, and cajoled (and occasionally threatened) me to keep going. Their support of what would become the Blackwater world was unwavering. The love they gave me was incomparable.
The game changer, for me, was when Vonetta Young got ahold of it. She refused to let me keep this book to myself (which was all I wanted). She forced me, in the best ways, to expose myself and my novel to people who embraced it and championed it.
The rest of my Inner-Sanctum Crew: Lisa Gaibler, Asis Dashkov, Tracy Kirby, Katie Akers, Kayleigh Gore, Ricarda Berger, and Emily Bright. I would be lost without your friendship, enthusiasm, and guidance.
