Delilah's Scandal (The Cove Sisters Trilogy #2)(71)
Author: Sienna Mynx

“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” if he blasted off in her mouth. He wouldn’t be able to finish her the way he desperately needed. So he let go of her head and pulled out. Maverick pulled her to her feet and took her to the bed. She wrapped her legs around his waist, and he plunged into her tightness, feeling hot and sweaty bliss. He loved her with several strokes, looking down at her beautiful face. It was then he found he was again trapped by his emotions. The duality of the emotion brought tears to his eyes. She didn’t care that she hurt herself. And that hurt him. He was a fool. A desperate fool to think he could replace his dead wife’s affection and his best friend Camille’s friendship with Delilah. She didn’t need him or even want to love him. She didn’t respect him. Instead, she used him. He looked away from her face, and tears did slip despite his resistance. She could have thought it was nothing but sweet. He glanced to Noah’s baby oil on the nightstand. He reached for it while making love to her. With some in his palm, he pulled out. He flipped her. He oiled his dick the best he could, and she crawled away from him, thinking they would do the next act in their dance. The one they rehearsed every night when he fucked her pussy from the back while she was on her knees. Not quite so.

“You want it rough,” he said with clenched teeth. He pinned her back down to the bed and forced her thighs apart and her knees to lift to push her around, perfectly shaped ass up for him. He used the gel and rubbed it over her opening.

Delilah's eyes stretched in shock. Before she could object, he thrust half his dick inside of her. Delilah cried out. “Maverick!”

He dropped on her and bit the top of her earlobe. “You wanted it rough, right?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

“You want me to stop?” he grunted in her ear.

“Yes, no, yes... no... no... don’t stop,” she wheezed. Her body stiffened. She forced the muscles in her ass to relax. But it was hard. She’d never felt anything like it. It hurt like the first time, but she kept silent. She feared if she cried out again, he would stop. Delilah bit down into her pillow. Maverick went back on his knees, and his hands clamped down on her shoulder. He fucked her nice and slow, opening her and the distress in her ass began to loosen and then tighten with a hot throb. Soon the pain became something more manageable; soon, the pain became more loving. She sighed. Finding a different kind of pleasure in her pain. And not understanding it.

Maverick didn’t stop until he came. He masturbated her as he delivered the final thrusts, and she came with him. He dropped on her, snorting through his climatic shakes, and then pulled out of her. She lay there in shock. She lifted her head to smile at him, but he was up and out of bed. He left the room and slammed the door behind him. She then heard him slam the other door, and she knew in her heart that door was locked. Confused and abandoned, she cried.

Present —

Delilah lifted her face from her hands. Her body still ached from their sex game gone wrong. She understood the difference now after the talk with her father. She could have the man who worshipped her, or she could have emptiness. A void of nothingness like what she felt in her own marriage. She got up from the chair with her jacket still on, and she closed it as she left the kitchen. She walked back to the cottage in the cold. The sun was rising. Yet it was colder than she remembered just an hour ago. She looked over at the mountains and smiled at the sight of the sun crest slightly between the two. Maverick should see it. From her bedroom upstairs, they could watch the sunrise every morning together.

Delilah went inside the cabin and found it quiet as it was when she left it. She went over to the guest room and tried the doorknob. Just as she had thought before, he had locked it. So she knocked.

“Maverick, please open the door. I’m sorry.”

He did. He stared down at her in his boxers with that sleepy look to his eyes that reminded her of Noah. He didn’t seem to remember everything, but she was sure it would come back to him.

“Can you get dressed, please? Pretty please. It’s important. I want to show you something?”

He blinked.

He sighed

He walked out of the room.

Delilah gave him space. She didn’t touch him. He went into his bedroom and did as she asked. She waited and listened as he dressed, only taking a piss and gurgling on mouthwash. He returned with everything but his jacket on.

She went and got it from the coat hook and handed it to him.

There were no words left for him to say. It was for her to fix what she broke between them last night. Together they left the guest cottage. On the porch, she pointed to the sun that had now halfway risen. Maverick stood at her side and watched the slow progression of a new day. He folded his arms and remained pensive, silent, but he enjoyed the sight of it just as she did.

“Isn’t it beautiful?” she asked. “This is Native American land. And there are so many stories I can tell you about that sun and the mountains. Folktales, we grew up with. Maybe we can talk about it soon.”

Of course, he didn’t answer, but she stared at his face hoping to see the interest. She reached for his hand. He lowered his arm to let her hold it. She pulled him with her. They walked back to the house. She walked him in through the kitchen door and startled her mother.

“Oh, good lord! You scared me,” Delores smiled. And then her mother’s smile dimmed. She looked at Maverick and back to her daughter, whose shirt was torn under her jacket. Delilah didn’t cover herself. What had happened between them was no one's business.

“What is going on?” Delores asked.

“Is Noah still sleep, mama?” Delilah asked.

“Yes, but,” she glanced to Maverick. “I need to get his medicine before getting him ready for breakfast.”

“Good, wake me and Maverick if you need us,” she replied. “We need some rest.” She then pulled Maverick along with her.

“Where are you two going?” her mother couldn’t help but ask.

“To bed. Maverick’s moving into my room.”

Delilah didn’t bother to look back at her mother. She already knew the shock and disapproval was all over her face. She led Maverick to her stairs and started to climb. He came with her. They walked to her room, and she brought him inside. She closed the door behind him and locked it. Maverick stood there looking around.

“We had a long night,” she told him. She took off his jacket and his shirt. She unbuttoned his pants. “You should get some rest with me so I can take care of you. Because I will take care of you, Maverick. Just like you take care of me.”

She undressed him. He went to her bed and got under the covers. Delilah undressed and went to her bathroom. Delilah took a long hot steamy shower and came out in a towel. Maverick laid on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. She went to the windows and made sure no sunlight seeped in. She then dropped her towel and found her oversized t-shirt to pull on and some panties. She didn’t need to seduce him or tease him. She wanted the new normal that he introduced her to over the past six weeks. The one she spat upon last evening. She wanted to be his friend, not a lover. That meant they started over. Right away.

When she got in bed with him, she kissed his shoulder and then the lion on his chest. She then kissed his cheek and his forehead as she stroked the side of his face. She pulled him over to her and put his face against her breasts. “Forgive me, Maverick. This one time. Forgive me. I promise I will never hurt you like that again. I swear it.”
