The Bosun (Love is Blind #3)(20)
Author: Harlow Layne

I slowly walked around the boat, making sure everything was as it was supposed to be before I headed downstairs to take a shower and put on a clean set of clothes while trying to avoid Ophelia as much as possible. I knew she’d question why we split up and why we hadn’t come back together.

I made it for the most part. Only running into Dean as he stepped out of our shared space at the same time I walked in.

“You look a mess,” he said as he slipped by me.

“We got caught out in it. It’s really coming down now. I’ll bet dinner has to be served inside.”

He shrugged as if it made no difference to him, and I guess it didn’t. Only the girls. “Will there be extra guests tonight?”

One thing I knew all chefs hated was finding out at the last minute that they’d be expected to serve more people than they were counting on, and that had happened the last two nights.

“Not that I know of, but you can never tell with this group of guests.”

Bumping my shoulder to get by, he grumbled. “Well, if you weren’t so damn personable and handsome, they wouldn’t want you to join them every night.”

“Not something I can help. Don’t act like if you weren’t the one cooking food, they wouldn’t have invited you because you know that’s the truth.” He shook his head in denial. “I know it to be true. I heard a couple of the girls going on about how hot you are, and the primary said she was going to offer you a job.”

“Oh dear god, I hope she doesn’t offer me a job. I don’t want to have to decline.” He looked down at his toes and wiggled them.

“Are you sure you don’t want to be her personal chef and get off the boat? You’d make some sick money.”

One shoulder lifted. “I haven’t been offered, so I can’t say.”

That’s what I thought. “Stay cool, dude. I’m going to grab a shower.”

“See you on the flip side.” Dean ducked around the corner headed for the kitchen.

Stripping out of my wet clothes, I turned on the water and set it as hot as I could stand it. After hours of being hard over Stella, I needed to relieve some of the pressure from my straining cock.

Pumping soap into my hand, I rubbed them together, creating a thick amount of suds, and ran them down my chest, over my abs, and straight to my stiff cock.

I let out a moan as I squeezed my tip. Knowing I didn’t have much time, I leaned my other arm against the wall of the shower and fisted my cock, stroking faster with each pump, all the while thinking of Stella in the bikini she wore yesterday. With her body playing behind my eyes, it didn’t take me long to explode. My forehead connected to the cool wall as streams of cum shot all over the shower wall.

Now that my head was slightly clearer, I dressed in my t-shirt and shorts uniform, ready for anything that might come my way. I slicked my hair back with some gel and sprayed on some cologne, making sure I smelled good for her later.

With pep in my step, I left my bedroom and went up the stairs two at a time. Hitting the landing, I saw Ophelia and Stella talking by her room, and my gut told me it wasn’t good.

Ophelia put her hand to her ample chest and gave a fake look of shock. “Oh, Remy was with me last night.”

Stella’s face went pale for a moment before it flushed with color when her eyes met mine.

Fuck my life.

Unsure how to take Ophelia’s words, I acted shocked as I ran into my room before she could say anymore or before Remy could interrupt. I’d seen the way she looked at him from the moment we stepped on board. And I knew they’d probably slept together, but I didn’t think they were a thing. All I could do was keep my questions to myself until I could get Remy alone tonight. If he didn’t say the right words, I knew I’d be disappointed about not getting to fuck him, but I wasn’t going to be with him if he was with someone else.

Remy didn’t seem to be the type, but I didn’t actually know him. I couldn’t judge his character after a few short conversations, but in my gut, something I liked to pride myself on said that Remy was a good man. He was hiding something, but it wasn’t for me to ask him. I had a feeling it was something that wounded him deeply.

Not ready to talk, I bypassed Pen as she left the bathroom. I should have known I wouldn’t get to avoid her twice. Pen was sitting on my bed when I came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel with another in my hand, trying to get the moisture out.

“Dinner is going to be ready in twenty minutes. I was told to tell you not to be late, so that means no stopping by to see Remy.”

I rolled my eyes at her. She could be so immature sometimes.

“I can promise you I’m not going to see him. In fact, I’m not sure what will happen tonight.”

“Why?” She furrowed her brows.

“Ophelia stopped me before I came inside and felt the need to tell me the reason why Remy didn’t meet me last night is because he was with her. Why did she feel the need to tell me that? Were you guys talking about it around her?”

“No,” she held her hands up. “We always made sure to shut up when they were around. Maybe she was lurking around a corner and heard us. She was acting strange when she saw me after we got back. I think she’s jealous. I think we’ve all noticed her checking him out, especially at our dinners.”

Clasping my hands together, I held them in front of me. “Please don’t tell me Zelda invited Remy to dinner again.”

“I don’t think so, but you never know with her. Anyway, we could talk about this all night, but you need to hurry up and get ready and looking extra sexy for Remy tonight.”

“Ugh.” I slumped down on the bed. “I don’t need all this pressure to get laid. Why does the one guy I’m finally interested in have to work in Spain of all places?”

Pen leaned into my side and rested her head alongside mine. “Because life isn’t fair, but think of it this way; that boat hottie is going to get you out of your funk, and then maybe once you move to LA, you’ll be ready to date.”

“I hope you’re right. Now leave me to get ready, so I don’t hold up dinner. I don’t want to piss off Chef Dean.”

Rolling off the bed, Pen grabbed her phone off the bed. “I’ll see you up there.”

I couldn’t decide what to wear and since I hadn’t unpacked, and all of my clothes were wrinkled. I knew I should have taken them up on their offer to unpack for me. Luckily, one of my colorful skirts had ruffles on it, which I paired with a cute white button-down shirt over the red bikini set Pen bought for me. I hadn’t packed any sexy lingerie for our trip because I didn’t think I’d want to jump anyone’s bones. Too bad shoes weren’t allowed onboard because I would have worn a pair of sexy high heels.

Normally I wasn’t late in my real life, but somehow, I was the late girl on this trip, and I hated it. All the girls were waiting with drinks in hand when I got upstairs.

“Nice of you to join us,” Reagan sneered the second her eyes landed on me.

“I think I did pretty well for only having twenty minutes to get ready. Some of us don’t have rooms all to ourselves.” It took everything in me not to flip her off.
