Maybe We Will (Silver Harbor #1)(46)
Author: Melissa Foster

“Aiden, please.” She looked down, and his eyes locked on hers, the pleasure in them as bold as his stare as he slid his tongue over her most sensitive nerves. “Oh God.” Her head fell back, and he did it again. She fisted her hands in the sheets as he continued licking and teasing, until she was moaning and trembling.

“So much sweetness,” he said huskily, dragging his tongue along her sex.

He sealed his mouth over her sex, loving her there the way he’d kissed her, deep, slow, intense. She dug her heels into the mattress, and he lifted her bottom, using his mouth on the apex of her sex as he pushed his fingers inside her, stroking over the spot that made her lose all sense of time and place. She was caught in a web of arousal as he fucked her with his fingers and loved her with his mouth. She arched and writhed, inhaling through gritted teeth as he quickened his efforts, sucking the oversensitive bundle of nerves into his mouth. Zings of pleasure ricocheted through her, shredding her control. Her hips bucked, her sex pulsed, and she cried out, but he didn’t relent. He homed in on the secret spot inside her, lingering there, teasing over it, every stroke sending her soaring anew, until a tsunami of pleasure tore through her and her entire body arched, and she collapsed, trembling and sated, to the mattress.

His hands slid up her waist and torso, holding her tight, reassuringly, making her feel adored and safe as he kissed her thighs and hips, whispering, “I’ve got you, babe.”

He kissed his way unhurriedly up her body, and then his mouth found hers. He tasted of sex and sinful pleasures, and she wanted it all. The head of his cock rested temptingly against her center. Her body ached to shift lower, to feel him inside her. “I need you,” she begged against his lips, and the growl it earned sent fire through her veins.

He reared up on his knees, his eyes never leaving hers as he tore open the condom and sheathed his length. When he came down over her, aligning their bodies, he kissed her softer and gazed entrancingly into her eyes. The way he looked at her sent lightning through her chest, their connection as overpowering as it was reassuring. He pushed his arms beneath her, holding her like she was precious, and in his arms, she truly felt she was. She lifted her hips, taking in every glorious inch of him, sending shock waves rippling through her core. Passion glowed in his eyes as he lowered his mouth to hers, and they began to move, finding the rhythm that carried them away to a secret place full of warmth and passion where only they existed. Their bodies took over, moving to a frenetic beat. She felt the claws of an orgasm grasping for purchase. Her head fell back, and Aiden grabbed her hips, pressing her into the mattress as he thrust deeper, faster, his dark eyes as lost in them as she was. Her mouth fell open and her eyes slammed shut as her climax engulfed her. She writhed and whimpered, her body shuddering beneath him, as he came undone, gritting out a curse as his release claimed him. His body jerked and thrust, his arms squeezing her so tight, she felt every pulse of his cock. Nothing had ever felt so good.

When Aiden’s head dipped beside hers, his body jolting with aftershocks, he kissed her cheek between heavy breaths and whispered, “Jesus, Abs.”

They lay together until their breathing calmed, and then he took care of the condom. She used the bathroom, and when she returned, she found him sitting on the edge of her bed, naked, one elbow leaning on his leg, his hand shielding his eyes. She got a little nervous, not wanting him to leave. It was crazy how little time they’d known each other and how close she felt to him. She never would have believed it if it weren’t happening to her.

“Come here, beautiful.” He reached for her, guiding her between his legs, and embraced her, resting his cheek against her breasts. She ran her hands through his hair, and he pulled her down onto his lap. He kissed her tenderly and brushed her wild hair away from her face, too many emotions gazing back at her to decipher. “I’m a greedy bastard with you, Abs. I want to fall asleep with you in my arms and wake up that way.”

“Yay for me,” she said, wiggling her shoulders.

“God, Abs.” His brow furrowed, but he was smiling, and it was such a complex, fitting look for who he was. “You are everything I never knew I needed.”

She scooped up that little golden gift and tucked it away as she said, “Stay with me.”

“You’ve had a lot of AA today. You sure you don’t want me out of your hair?”

“I want you in my hair.” She touched her lips to his and said, “And in other places, too. Get your naked butt in my bed, greedy boy.”

He tossed her onto her back on the mattress and rolled over her, grinning like the greedy boy he was. “Careful what you wish for, sweetheart. This greedy man is ready for seconds.”

CHAPTER ELEVEN

AIDEN HAD ALWAYS been a creature of habit, up with the sun and armed for work. Even as a boy he’d gotten up early seven days a week. He could still remember his father’s serious eyes lighting up when he would pad into the kitchen in his pajamas and climb onto a chair beside him at daybreak, ready to learn anything his father had to offer. Dad, why not read the paper when you get home at night instead of getting up early to read it? His father had a habit of sitting back and looking him in the eye every time Aiden asked him a question, giving him his undivided attention. Aiden prided himself on learning that trait at an early age—giving everyone who crossed his path the same level of respect, no matter who they were. His father’s voice walked confidently through his mind. Because you never start a race from the back of the pack. He’d set the newspaper on the table and leaned closer to Aiden, his smile softening his features as he’d lowered his voice and said, And evenings are reserved for the thing that matters most: family.

Aiden had gone years without thinking of those memories, but he didn’t need to look far to know why his parents and the life he’d once imagined for himself had been on his mind a lot more lately. She was sleeping naked and safe in his arms, her cheek resting on his chest, and she was making the cutest snoring sounds he’d ever heard. She didn’t wear her heart on her sleeve just when she was awake. It was right there in her peaceful expression as she slept. No part of him wanted to get up, much less read a newspaper or work a new deal. That should scare the life out of him. Hell, his inability to leave her last night should have sent him running for the mainland. She was not only stirring memories, but she was also causing him to take a good hard look at who he was and what he wanted in his life.

Abby snorted so loud, she startled herself awake. She looked around, probably trying to figure out what had caused the noise.

“Morning, gorgeous.”

“Hey, you,” she said sleepily. “What are you grinning at?”

“Your adorable snoring.”

“I don’t snore.”

“You absolutely snore, but it’s cute. It’s kind of a grunting-snorting sound followed by a contented hum.”

“Ohmygosh.” She buried her face in the side of his chest.

“I take it your ex never mentioned it to you?”

She opened the one eye he could see and said, “I’m not talking to you about some other guy while we’re naked.”

“Good, because I’d like to pretend that no other man came before me. No pun intended.”

“That’s my game plan with you and other women.”
