Lincoln drops his gaze to the bar, and Darin mutters a curse.
“You’re welcome to stay and finish your drink, but I think I speak for both me and Jordan when I suggest you find another restaurant from here on out.”
“There really are so many to choose from,” I say lightly, feeling all kinds of gooshy warm feelings toward the man at my side.
Darin downs his drink and drops a twenty on the bar. Lincoln risks one more glance, then shakes his head and slinks away.
I turn into Alexander’s chest and hug him. “That was satisfying.”
He kisses the top of my head. “Sorry I didn’t get here sooner. They give you a hard time?”
“No.” I tilt my chin up, and he takes the opening and kisses me. “The only person giving me a hard time is your drunk-ass brother.”
His dark brows fall heavily together, and he turns to Kingston behind him, only he’s gone. “Where did he go?”
We both take a minute to search the bar area and restaurant. Kenzy says she saw him leave.
“I hope he’s not driving,” I say.
“He better not be.” He kisses my forehead. “He’ll be fine. Can I take you home now?”
“Do you have something planned for dinner? I’m starving.”
“I ordered dinner to go.” He lifts a chin to Kenzy, who hands him a to-go bag.
“Always thinking ahead.”
He cups my jaw and smiles. “Always thinking of you.”
