He lightly smacked her bum, the small sting making her pussy throb. "You'll always have me. But just know that right now, I don't have the patience to draw this out like you deserve."

She smiled slowly. "You remember the frenzy. Sometimes rough and quick is just as good."

Raising her arse and standing on her toes, offering herself to him, Lachlan's gaze turned possessive. With a strangled sound, he undid his trousers, freed his cock, and positioned it at her entrance. As he bit the place where her neck met her shoulder, he thrust home, and she moaned at how full she was in this position.

Lachlan threaded his fingers through her hair, tugged slightly to turn her face more toward him, and took her lips in a kiss.

His tongue met hers, stroking, coaxing, and driving her mad.

Fingers tweaked one of her nipples, and she gasped. Lachlan only took the opportunity to delve deeper into her mouth, as if he needed to claim every inch of her or he'd die.

Not one to merely sit by, Cat met his tongue with her own, loving the intimate, possessive dance, one where they were claiming each other yet again.

He broke the kiss long enough to say, "Rub your clit for me, lass. Make yourself nice and wet for me before I do more."

Cat moved one of her hands from the door, down her body, and finally to the sensitive peak between her thighs. Never breaking her gaze, she began to rub and circle the way she liked, each pass making it harder to stand as heat built, and she grew wetter.

The fact she was doing all this with Lachlan inside her, unmoving, was strangely erotic.

As she started to pant, getting close, Lachlan murmured, "Put your hand back on the door."

His command made her shiver, and she did as he said.

He kissed her again as he held her in place at the waist and moved his hips, thrusting slowly at first but faster with each second, until she couldn't help but make little noises each time his balls slapped against her cunt.

At her little mewls, his thrusts grew frenzied, almost as if he'd die if he didn't claim her harder, faster, needing to brand her pussy with his dick. Only because her hands braced against the door did she stay standing.

Then he broke the kiss to run his hand down her belly, between her thighs and found her clit. She was already sensitive from earlier and groaned at his firm touch. As he rubbed, circled, and lightly flicked her sensitive bundle of nerves, Cat arched her back more, the pleasure building.

He murmured, "You're mine, Cat MacAllister MacKintosh. Come for me, lass. Let me feel your pussy claim my dick in return."

As he pressed against her clit, Cat cried out as pleasure flooded her body, clenching his cock as Lachlan continued to move, each stroke only heightening her pleasure and extending her release.

When he finally stilled and groaned out his orgasm, so deep inside her she could feel his heat, she leaned heavily against the door as she tried to catch her breath.

Lachlan wrapped his arms around her and kissed her shoulder. He slowly pulled her upright until she leaned against his chest.

They stayed like that a moment, their heavy breathing filling their ears and Cat reveling in the feel of his solid form behind her, until Lachlan finally said, "That was better than any frenzy."

Her dragon huffed. I beg to differ.

Cat giggled. "Now you've upset my dragon."

He lazily cupped her breast before playing with her nipple. "Well, maybe she should prove me wrong."

Her dragon said, Gladly.

Cat let her dragon take control of their mind, turned around, and pushed him to the ground. She extended her talons, sliced off his clothes, and went to work on claiming Lachlan in her own way as well.

And for the rest of the hour, Cat and Lachlan took turns claiming one another in new ways, determined to leave their mark upon one another forever.

Chapter Twenty-One

Cat and her new mate made it as far as suppertime on their mating day before Lachlan's brother-in-law needed their attention again.

The human male had tried to attack a Protector, threatening to kill the dragonwoman slowly. He'd failed spectacularly—Iris was female and one of the strongest Protectors on Lochguard—but it only reinforced what Sarah had said about her husband hating dragon-shifters.

And by the next morning, with neither she nor Lachlan getting much sleep because of worry, she started to wonder how this situation could ever be fixed before people started dying.

Her dragon said softly, Trust Finn. He'll find a way.

As much as she usually trusted her clan leader, the entire bloody situation seemed impossible.

Still, she'd managed to get up and not vomit before heading downstairs to make some toast. Just as Lachlan joined her—he'd finally dozed off, and she hadn't wanted to wake him up—someone knocked at the front door.

Cat moved to get it, but Lachlan kissed her cheek and murmured, "The less you have to move in the morning, the better, lass." He gently touched her lower belly before heading out of the room.

She still felt the lingering heat of his fingers against her abdomen when he came back, Finn and Grant right behind him.

Before she could even offer them some tea or coffee, Finn spoke without prompting. "The dragon hunters are going to remain an issue, but you don't have to worry about your brother-in-law's gambling debt collector and its ramifications."

Lachlan frowned. "I didn't think you knew people in that world."

Finn shook his head. "I don't. I have contacts in Glasgow, true. But not with the debt collectors. Grant can tell you more."

He gestured for Grant to speak, and the quieter dragonman picked up the explanation. "Someone I trust sent a message, which basically said that the group who holds Rob Carter's debts is currently being targeted by some unknown group. If we ruin all the groundwork they've laid for the takedown by trying to talk to them or investigate in any way, they'll punish all of Lochguard."

Cat frowned. "Who the bloody hell would order that?"

Finn and Grant glanced at each other before Grant replied, "I don't know for sure, but I've suspected for a while that some dragon-shifters have been recruited to work as sort of special ops agents by humans. There's a Skyhunter male I knew a long time ago who was declared dead—one with extremely valuable skills he acquired in the army that everyone still talks about—but I swore I saw him in Glasgow not that long ago."

Lachlan grunted. "That's a rather thin amount of evidence to make such a conclusion."

Finn nodded. "Aye, but there's more. The DDA sent a message this morning saying that they're still reviewing your mating application, your request to remain part of the DDA, and that of your sister to stay here temporarily. While not explicit, it implied that if we went after the criminal arseholes, they might deny the lot."

Cat's frown deepened. Just who had Lachlan's brother-in-law got involved with?

Her dragon said, He might not have known how established or corrupt they are. He doesn't seem bright, though, if he's racking up debts with dangerous people.

She focused on the others in the room and asked, "What about Rob's family? Regardless of whatever trouble he got himself into, are we really going to let the human criminals kill them because of his unpaid debts?"

Grant shook his head. "No, of course not. The message said they would be protected and to keep the human locked up here until we receive word to let him go."
