Heavy Petting (Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild #2)(27)
Author: Erin Nicholas

But, even more than that—they were making sense.

Jordan had only been with one other man and she and Jason had gotten together when they were very young. In spite of the eleven years together, that did mean she had relatively limited experience.

Damn.

Then Zeke made it all worse by putting Fletcher’s exact thoughts to words.

“She’s maybe kind of a virgin in a lot of ways.”

Zander frowned. “What you mean? She and Jason were together a long time.”

“Sure,” Zeke agreed, “but they were kids when they got together. They maybe don’t even know all the things they could have been doing. Could be all kinds of things Jordan hasn’t even tried.” He grinned at Fletcher. “This could be fun. I’ve been with a couple of virgins and I’m telling you, when they’re enthusiastic about learning, it can be a really good time.” He paused. “Of course…”

Fletcher did not want to encourage this conversation. He already had a knot in his gut. He and Jordan were going to have to talk about this, weren’t they? He’d need to know how experienced—or not—she was. Which meant hearing about what she’d done with Jason.

He did not want to know that.

“Of course what?” Zander asked.

Zeke lifted a big shoulder. “Just…it’s some pressure too, you know? I mean, you wanna make it good for them. First time and all. And Fletcher always has to be The Guy with Jordan.”

“The Guy?” Mitch repeated.

But it was Zander who nodded. “Oh yeah. For sure. Fletcher has to be the guy who comes through—no pun intended—for Jordan no matter what.”

“Well at least he was smart and got her hitched the second he could,” Zeke said. He reached over and clapped Fletcher on the shoulder. “Now all you have to do is be the best she’s ever had. Erase all those memories with that other guy. What’s his name again? Big hot super star—”

“Okay.” Fletcher cut his brother off with a sharp tone.

His heart was pounding and not in the good, hot, I-get-to-have-sex-with-Jordan-tonight way.

Fuck. Zeke was right. And while that happened more often than most of them would admit, it was significantly unpleasant in this case.

Sleeping with Jordan was a much bigger deal than with anyone else. He’d known that would be the case. He was in love with the girl, after all. Her being his wife should make this easier though, shouldn’t it? But damn…their first time together would also be the beginning of the only sex either of them would ever have again.

And she was kind of like a virgin. Not technically, of course, but he would only be the second man ever in her bed. And the first had gotten her naked for the first time when she was sixteen.

Yes, he knew that too. She called him right after Jason had dropped her off.

In fact she’d talked to Fletcher about it before it happened. She and Jason had discussed it for nearly six months before it happened and she told Fletcher all of her feelings about it. How she was nervous, how she didn’t know if it was the right thing to do, how she really wanted to do it, how sweet Jason had been waiting, how she was sure she was going to marry him so surely that made it okay.

Fletcher got to hear all of that. At age sixteen it had been fine. Fletcher had never imagined sleeping with Jordan himself. His only concern had been Jason treating her right, and using a condom.

Which he had told Jason when he’d found him after football practice over in Bad the next afternoon.

He’d threatened to be sure that Jason was never able to father children if he did anything to hurt Jordan, told him that one single “no” from her meant Jason better fucking stop no matter how far along they were, and then he’d slapped three condoms into Jason’s hand before turning and stomping away.

So yeah, he knew when Jordan had officially lost her virginity. He knew she didn’t like giving blowjobs. He knew she was on the pill. He knew she’d sprained her ankle once trying shower sex. And he knew, that even with all of that awkward knowledge between them, he still wanted to be the last man to ever make love to her.

Yes, he wanted to erase all of the other memories and be the best she’d ever had.

Yes, he was used to being the guy who did everything right with her. And yes, he really fucking liked that.

So yes, fucking hell, he was definitely feeling the pressure.

He hadn’t expected to be thinking about spending the night in her bed when he’d picked her up this morning. He definitely hadn’t expected to be married to her.

This was all going too damned fast.

“You realize, I hope, that Zeke doesn’t really know what he’s talking about when it comes to relationships, right?” Mitch asked.

He was leaning in, giving Fletcher a very concerned look.

Fletcher swallowed hard. “Yeah, I know,” he said, trying for nonchalant.

He apparently didn’t pull it off.

Mitch shook his head. “I mean it, man.”

“He’s right,” Zander added. “Zeke’s idea of a serious relationship is when he lets the girl shower at his place in the morning instead of just driving her home.”

Mitch looked over at Zeke. “When was the last time you let a woman shower at your place?”

Zeke had to think about it. “A year. Maybe more.”

“What if she has to work in the morning?” Mitch asked, looking entertained.

“Then she better get up in time to get home and get ready,” Zeke told him.

“Why don’t you let women shower at your place?” Mitch asked. “Seriously? What’s the big deal? If they’ve already slept over?”

Mitch hadn’t let women spend the night at his place. He’d been basically celibate for about six months after meeting Paige and she was now living with him, but even before his trip to Iowa where he’d met the sassy blonde, he’d had a rule about no women in his personal space.

Zeke had no such rule. Except when it came to his shower, apparently.

“Long hair,” Zeke said, lifting his beer and taking a long drink.

Mitch laughed. “What about it?”

“It uses more shampoo and clogs my drain.”

Mitch and Zander both snorted.

“You have long hair,” Mitch pointed out.

“So adding more would be a big problem,” Zeke said.

“You’re not having women shower at your place because they use up your shampoo and you might have to snake your drain more often?” Zander asked. “Wow.”

Zeke shrugged. “Guy’s gotta have rules.”

“What about shower sex?” Zander asked.

Which, of course, took Fletcher’s thoughts back to Jordan’s sprained ankle and her declaration that she was not into sex in rooms other than the bedroom.

At the time he’d laughed.

He wasn’t laughing now.

Shower sex. Kitchen sex. Of course living room couch sex. Even we-couldn’t-make-it-upstairs-before-we-tore-each-other’s-clothes-off-on-the-fifth-step sex. There were so many possibilities.

“Shower sex is harder than it sounds,” Zeke informed them.

“Mitch and I have shower sex all the time,” Paige said, as she joined them at the table.

Specifically, as she slid into Mitch’s lap and wrapped an arm around his neck.
