Dead Lands (Savage Lands #3)(31)
Author: Stacey Marie Brown

“I can think of other uses for Bitzy’s hat,” Warwick muttered sleepily, rolling over onto his side. He pulled me against his warm body, his hands gliding over my ass before he pressed his heavy length into my back.

“Did you just purr?” Opie blinked at me.

Fuck... did I?

Warwick hummed with pride, digging his head deeper into the back of my neck, pulling me firmer into him.

“And why the hell are you two on the floor?” He motioned to the single bedframe over his shoulder, which now was nothing more than scrap metal. “What the hell did you do to it? Origami?”

Warwick snorted.

It wasn’t far off. I doubted a steel-enforced bed could survive Warwick. The tiny little cot didn’t have a chance, not even making it through the first round. The entire middle caved in on itself until the footrail and headrail met.

“You can’t see what it is?” Warwick chuckled into my neck. “It’s a ‘fuck off and leave us alone’ sign.”

Chirp!

Warwick didn’t even look up, just stuck his middle finger over my shoulder at Bitzy, saluting her back.

Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Fingers flew.

“Wow.” I laughed, peering over my shoulder at him. “Better sleep with one eye open.”

He grunted, his head still hiding in my hair.

“You destroyed this room.” Opie wrung his hands together, peering around. Clothes were strewn everywhere, furniture broken, the lamp cracked. “I mean, not that I care... it’s fine... I mean, if you like living in a war zone... sure... I mean, why would it bother me?”

“Especially because you hate to clean.”

“Right!” He threw out his arms in agreement, but his expression was pinched, his attention still circling the mess. “I hate to clean, even when people live in pigsties.” He inched closer to a pair of pants, pretending not to fold them. “Really, really hate cleaning...”

“I bet the showers don’t need cleaning either.” I lifted an eyebrow at him. “Good excuse for a new outfit.”

Opie’s eyes opened wider. “I think I saw an old loofa in there!”

“Ew... but okay, sounds fun.”

“Come on, Bitzy, it’s pool time!” He turned around, sauntering away.

Laughter burned up my nose, my hand clapping over my mouth. The bib only covered his front, leaving his entire backside open. And painted on his two tiny ass cheeks were Xs.

“The ‘O’ is hidden.” He winked over his shoulder at me before he and Bitzy disappeared.

I groaned, uncontrollable giggles spewing from me, my eyes watering.

“Remember, those menaces are yours forever now.” Warwick tipped up an eyebrow, rolling me onto my back, shifting his body over me. He clutched my thigh, fitting himself between my legs.

“I seem to like menaces.” My voice came out breathy, his cock pressing into me, making me dizzy. I couldn’t believe I could even go again. Chafed and sore, I still wanted more.

Continuously. Incessantly.

My hands dug into his hair by his temple, drawing his mouth to mine, kissing him so deeply, tingles erupted through me. He growled, hungrily claiming my mouth, wrapping himself around me, both physically and through our connection, which scared me.

We hadn’t talked much last night, skirting around the elephant in the room—the link that joined us. He made it clear it was not what he wanted. And I didn’t know if our feelings were real or only because we had this connection.

When he sank into me this time, he was slow and thorough, deep long strokes, taking me to more incredible highs. He watched me fall apart, spilling inside me right after.

Even after we came back down, he didn’t move, his gaze intense. “Why can’t I get enough?” He spoke low, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “I never want to stop being inside you,” he growled, and I could feel him start to grow hard inside me again, heaving my lungs. “What the fuck is this?”

My mouth opened to speak.

“It looks like you two worked your issues out.” A voice twisted both our heads to my doorway.

Appearing exhausted and dirty, Ash leaned against the doorjamb, motioning around my room. “Looks like you took your issues out on this room. And from what I heard... on each other... and the workout room...” Ash tipped his head. “Oh, and the church.”

“Get the fuck out.” Warwick barked at his friend, waving at him to leave.

“Come on, I didn’t drive twelve straight hours to wait for you two to fuck—from what everyone has told me, it’s like the hundredth time in the last day.” He patted the bag on his shoulder. “We got work to do.” He adjusted himself. “Damn... the insane sexual aura coming off you two now.”

“Ash,” Warwick snarled.

“Ten minutes, not twenty.” Ash pointed at us.

“Out!” Warwick chucked his boot at his friend. Ash dodged out of the way, laughing as he shut the door.

“We better go. I need to take a shower.” I was covered in sweat, blood, and Warwick. “And I’m starving.”

Warwick huffed, rolling off me. Getting up to his feet, he sauntered to the door. He flung it open, still naked, his firm ass flexing with every step. Peering over his shoulder, he eyed me hungrily. “I’m eating my breakfast in the shower.” He lifted a brow. “You coming?”

Scrambling to my feet, I raced after him.

Hell yeah, I was...

And would be.

More than twenty minutes later, coffee in one hand, a pastry in the other, Ash, Warwick, and I sat on a step in the corner of the church away from everyone’s view or possible foot traffic. Ash didn’t want anyone to know he had a fae book. They were coveted since there were so few now and could be dangerous in the wrong hands—to both the book and the person.

“So... looks like it wasn’t just this bastard you worked things out with.” The smirk on Ash’s face hadn’t left since the moment we strolled in, freshly showered and momentarily satiated.

A grunt rolled from Warwick, making Ash grin wider.

“The spirits aren’t attacking you.” Ash yanked the old giant book from his bag, placing the fabric on the floor before gently laying the book on the bag.

They weren’t bombarding me, but I could feel them hovering, getting close enough to buzz by, scraping at my energy. Warwick didn’t have to touch me, but I noticed his knee pressed into my thigh as if he were making sure. “What did you do?”

“Uh...” I took another sip of coffee, trying to put into words what exactly happened. It was so hazy that I barely felt like it was me.

“Right.” Ash chuckled. “Probably shouldn’t ask tough questions... brain a bit fried there, sweetheart?”

“Shut up.” I tried to glower at Ash, but it fell flat.

“Comes with the legendary status.” Warwick leaned back against the wall, smugness curling his lips as he chomped down on his pastry, stuffing almost half of it into his mouth in one bite. I tried to be annoyed but found myself staring at his mouth, the way his muscles moved along his jaw and throat, remembering the way his lips felt on my skin. His heated gaze lifted to mine, his presence swirling around me, the feel of his mouth sliding down the back of my neck, giving me shivers.
