Wallflower (Redemption #5)(44)

“You,” I didn’t hesitate to answer.

“That’s right, baby. It’s all mine. And who does this cock belong to?”

Oh God, that was hot! “It’s mine, baby.”

He growled against my neck. “Fuck yeah it is. Now give it to me baby, come all over your dick.”

On his order, that pressure inside me snapped, and I careened headlong into the most powerful orgasm of my life. I cried out until my voice was hoarse, bucking against him as explosions went off inside me, one after another.

By the time I finally starting coming down, his thrusts had turned more frantic, his grunts echoing in my ears.

His hand moved from between my legs and returned to the center of my back, and once more, I found myself lying across the tabletop right before he pulled out and unloaded on my ass. His cum hit my skin, soothing the sting that still remained from his earlier spanking.

I arched my back and looked over my shoulder at him, wanting to see what he looked like as he came.

“Jesus fucking Christ,” he gritted as he jerked himself violently, spurt after spurt pouring from him and landing on me.

Never in my life did I think I’d like something like that, but there was no denying it. That. Was. Hot!

When he finally finished, he collapsed over the top of me, taking my hands that were pressed to the wood and lacing his fingers through mine.

“In. Fucking. Awe.”

Needless to say, the feeling was mutual.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Willow

Stone: Dinner at my place tonight? I’ll cook.

I tried not to let the smile swallow my face whole as I read the text that had just come in. It hadn’t even been a week since Stone and I had become an ‘us’—it felt weird calling him my boyfriend. He just seemed too rough and badass to be referred to as my boyfriend. So what did that make him? My man? That worked for me—and I felt like I was floating; my feet still hadn’t hit the ground.

Me: You cook? *gasp* I shot back teasingly. The idea of him in the kitchen, preparing a meal for me, revved my engine in a very serious way. I’d have given anything to see that. However, it would have to wait.

We’d seen each other every night. Either he crashed at my place, or I’d stay at his with him and Chief. On the nights I slept over with him, we’d usually done takeout. But while my belly filled with butterflies at the thought of seeing him again—even though I’d seen him this morning—this was the first day since the incident with my dad that the bruise was officially faded enough for me to be able to visit him. I’d missed him more than words could say, so I’d already talked to my sisters, and we’d agreed that tonight was my night to be with him.

Stone: Yes, smartass. I can cook. Pretty damn well too. And you play your cards right, I might consider cooking shirtless for you.

Damn, that was some serious incentive, and my fingers actually hurt as I typed out my reply.

Me: You make a very compelling argument. I really wish I could, but I’m making dinner for my dad tonight, and I’m excited to see him. Raincheck?

The response that came through made my heart skip a little.

Stone: I know you’re excited, mouse. Have fun with your dad. I’ll take you up on that raincheck.

God, he really was perfect.

Me: Thanks, baby.

Stowing my phone back in my purse, I did my best to concentrate on work and keep my mind off all things Stone, no matter how hard it was.

Shortly before lunch, the door came swinging open, and Aurora came skipping in—literally skipping—with a huge smile on her face. “Feel like going to lunch?”

I gave her a curious look. “Why do I have a feeling you voiced a command as a question just to be nice and don’t plan on taking no for an answer?”

“Because you, my exquisite little angelfish, are as smart as you are beautiful.”

“Oh good, you’re here already,” I heard just before Lark rounded the front of my desk. “Let’s go, guys. I’m starving.”

Guess I was going to lunch.

I shut my computer down, grabbed my bag, and followed my two best friends out.

We hit the local diner, and I didn’t even realize the change in me, the way I kept my head up and met peoples’ eyes instead of hiding behind the curtain of my hair, until I reached the booth, after receiving—and more importantly, returning—several smiles and head nods from people I’d known all my life yet never really talked to.

It felt really damn good to know I no longer had to actively keep myself from retreating back into my shell. My mind had been so consumed with Stone these past few days that it took this trip to lunch with my girls to discover that stupid shell was gone for good.

Aurora and Lark waited until I sat, sliding into a booth right beside the window that overlooked the main drag through town before they both took the seat across from me so they could stare at me with strange googly expressions and their chins in their palms.

I rolled my eyes. “Just spit it out, already.”

Aurora smiled so big I could nearly see all her teeth and batted her eyes, making her look a lot like a cartoon princess. “You seem in a really good mood.”

“She’s been in a really good mood for a few days now,” Lark added in a girly sing-song voice.

She and Aurora fed off each other as they continued to tease. “So I take it that means things are going pretty damn great with her new boyfriend then?”

Lark looked at her and bugged her eyes out. “Oh, I think things are definitely going pretty damn great with her new boyfriend.”

“You two are ridiculous,” I said with a giggle-snort.

“That we are, my shimmery little moonbeam,” Aurora laughed. “Now spill. Besties deserve deets. So . . . Gimme.”

God, my friends were ridiculous. And I freaking adored the hell out of them.

“I’m really happy,” I said softly, looking out the window and returning someone’s wave as they passed by and spotted me sitting in the booth. “Things with my dad are rough, and my sisters and I still have some mending to do, but . . . I don’t really know how to explain it. I haven’t had a whole lot to be happy about in recent months, but . . . he’s made things better.”

“Oh my God,” Lark whispered, her eyes going misty. “You’re in love with him.”

My lips tipped up in a ridiculously giddy smile. We hadn’t said it to each other yet, but that was okay. There was plenty of time. Besides, he showed me every day with the way he touched and looked at me, how he worshipped my body every single night, so I could wait. I was happy to wait.

“It’s still new,” I told my friends. “We aren’t there yet. I’m just really happy.” And you love him like freaking crazy, my brain screamed.

“Oh, Lark,” Aurora cooed, looking just as damn glassy-eyed as the woman beside her. “Our little beansprout is all grown up.” She placed her hand over her heart and sniffled. I’d have thought it was just dramatics if a tear hadn’t actually fallen from her eye.

Reaching across the table, I placed my hands on theirs and squeezed tight. “I love you guys. I know I said I hadn’t had much these past months to be happy about, but I hope you know that becoming friends with you guys is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.”
