Tangled Sheets(177)
Author: J.L. Beck

His sharp, hawk-like features intimidated.

Every one of my senses was fluttering in tune with his feral movement, redolent with animal grace and shadow.

I wanted to lick him.

I pondered this as he grabbed me by the arms and hauled me to my feet. His ability to lift my dead weight as if it were nothing was also major turn-on.

“You okay?” He brushed aside the fall of my hair, setting it back over my shoulder, then dusted off the knees of my pants.

I drew in a gulp of air to steady myself. “You know what they say. Sometimes it’s good to fall down to see who will pick you up.”

“Come this way, Eva,” Roberto said, pulling me forward. “Thank you, Jack. I’ll call you if I need you.”

Looking down at my costly outfit, I felt like an imposter.

Why was I here?

Speechless, Roberto led me into a lush seating area where a bottle of champagne sat waiting on the stylish coffee table like a chilled promise. Uncorking the bottle with confidence and skill, I wondered if that’s how he made love to a woman. Such that said female opened her legs on command and wanted to be taken by him.

He poured the golden bubbles into a crystal glass, heavier than any I’d ever held in my hand, and beckoned me to sit on the sofa. “Do you have a boyfriend, Eva?”

The casual question took a second to process. Gulping air, I asked, “How is that your business at all?”

“It’s my business because I’m going to devour your pussy. Is there is anyone you need to get rid of before that happens?” Roberto looked at me and again I saw the thing that made me flee into the bushes, away from him, instead of crawling into the passenger side of his nice warm car.

Undeniable power and single-minded control.

Bracing myself, I took a nice long swig of champagne, then coughed and sputtered.

“It’s easier to swallow if you sip it, don’t gulp. That way fluid doesn’t flood your throat, making you choke.” Was that a glint of mischief in his eye?

The unexpected ache between my thighs had me returning to my glass. “Rather arrogant of you to tell me your plans for my vagina, Mr. Moretti.” I ran my hands over the tops of my thighs, feeling hot. “How do you even know I’d be interested? Maybe I’m a lesbian.”

A phantom of a smile passed over his lips making him even more handsome. Dear God… Why did I come to his house alone? His presence doused me in fire and water at the same time and left me powerless to resist him.

“What’s funny?” I asked and folded my arms in front of me, bouncing my kitten heel over my knee.

He moved closer to erase the distance between us on the couch. “You are. I can feel you. Feel your attraction to me. The desire hangs between us in the air so thick you can practically touch it. Why pretend it doesn’t?” He lifted his glass and took an elegant sip. My inner Jezebel wondered how good those lips would feel between my legs.

Just once.

“I don’t have a boyfriend.” I moped. He acted like I was a walking pussy.

Just because he picked me up on the side of the road didn’t mean I owed him a night in the sack. If Mr. Tall Dark and Dashing thought I’d pay up with my vagina, he didn’t have the slightest clue who he dealt with.

And yet, there was no denying the way his words shot the rhythm of my pulse all to hell.

The only thing I wanted in my mouth was her, and I planned on making that happen tonight. As soon as she walked into my home, like a doe entering an open field, eyes and ears pricked, looking for potential predators, it was a foregone conclusion.

She didn’t know how fucking gorgeous she was. That much was obvious. Other women with her assets would have pressed their advantage by now.

Women who ran in my circles.

Unlike them, Eva wasn’t running any game. Making any play. She was just, Eva. A girl on the run. from something that I’d chase the hell away from her.

My chest swelled at the moth-wing flutter I felt in the pulse of her palm when I grabbed her hand. The rhythm of her blood thumped for me, a beat of nerves or excitement.

“Are you hungry? Let’s have dinner. Simone will bring the champagne.”

She walked ahead of me, and I fantasized about her lush curves, naked, and pressed up against me. “It’s in here.”

Eva stopped suddenly, and I grasped her elbows from behind, my swollen organ thudding at the thought of pulling her to me and settling between her soft and succulent ass cheeks.

Somehow, I refrained and opened the door for her.

Like a fucking gentleman.

Like mama taught me.

Let’s be real, I never pretended to be a good boy.

Eva gasped when I swung open the large doors to the formal dining room. She walked to the window and looks upward at the stars, mouth ajar. I fantasized that’s what she’d look like when eager to taste me. To take me in her mouth.

“The lake is so gorgeous!”

Her scent rose off her and kicked my restraint to the curb.

“Screw it,” I said. Her mouth still open, I ravished it, swallowing the taste of her which made me hungry for more.

Eva made a greedy sound, and I covered her mouth with mine to swallow every whimper, gliding my lips across hers. My cock jerked with the need to shove itself into her wet heat.

My hardness rubbed against her, “See what you do to me? Since the moment I put you over my shoulder last night.” I gently shoved her shoulders away to look into her eyes and heard the ragged rasp of my breathing, like a wolf in frantic pursuit of prey.

Slow your roll, buddy.

“All day long, I’ve done nothing but try to stop thinking about you.” I revealed to her. Her ashen face and frozen stance gave me pause. Too intense, too fast.

I took a step away from her. “Ready to eat?”

“Mmm,” she replied, and my dick took it for a moan. He was incorrigible. I wouldn’t force this girl into something, no matter how much I want to take it from her.

I led her to the table and ordered in a low voice, “Sit, Eva.” She obeyed, and my lungs expanded in deep satisfied breaths merely because she plopped her sweet ass down on the emerald-colored chair when I told her to.

Shifting slightly on the cushioned chair, it relieved the severe ache in my groin. She reached towards me and her lingering touch on my arm made my mouth water.

“What is this about?” she asked, tracing my tattoo with her finger.

“It’s a family insignia.” I grabbed her finger.

Of her own accord, she ran a fingernail lightly over the blade, “What does it mean?”

“The sword signifies strength and protection.”

“Like you protected me last night?” She smiled. “Were you bound by honor?”

“It was the right thing to do. But I assure you, my intentions are far from honorable.” I watched her with an intent look.

The coat of arms is the fabric of every male Moretti’s identity. When we claimed a mate, we didn’t just protect them; we owned them. But I don’t say this out loud.

“Not sure getting involved with you is the best idea. First of all, I don’t know you. Secondly, we come from different stations in life.” She placed the champagne glass to her forehead and Simone entered with the first course.
