Catching Ember (Buckle Up Series Book 1)(33)
Author: Beverly Preston

“Not yet I haven’t.” Anticipation thickened his tone. Sliding his cock along her seam, he teased and tormented, in a sensual dance of temptation. The indecent grinding brought her right back to the edge of climax.

“Nash, please.”

Giving in to her plea, he eased inside, the thick slide drawing a low moan from each of them. She tensed a bit, her shoulder shrinking inward, struggling to take in the fullness of him.

“So, tight…” Staring down, he stroked the damp hair from her forehead. Quiet murmurs filled the small space between them. “Relax, sweetheart. Let me in. I’m gonna wait for you.”

He took his time, pushing deeper, allowing her to adjust to the thickness. Ember molded around him, taking him in by degrees of inches, her body surrendering to the thick intrusion. When she thought she’d managed all she could take, he hooked the back of her knee in the crook of his arm, giving her more. She writhed beneath him, muscles yielding to the snug, heavy invasion.

He pulled out, offering a small thrust and then another, drawing a long hiss through her teeth.

“You okay?”

“Feels so…” Her voice fractured as zing delight swam through her. “Oh, yes. Please, God yes.”

He began a deliberate cadence of deep thrusts, hips pumping in a tireless pace, each disciplined stroke rooting out more pleasure than the one before. The sensation of it felt vexingly delicious.

Needing it faster and harder, she gripped his hips, tugging with urgency, but he resisted, forcing her to submit to his pace. The demand of it tipped her over the edge and she began to fly. Ember unraveled at the seams. Fingers slick from perspiration, she latched onto his thick wrist planted beside her head, nails digging into his flesh. She jerked and groaned, lifting her hips to meet his, her body rising to an incredible high as she came in long, voluptuous jolts. Nash dropped to his elbows, thrusting deep, shuddering and shaking, filling her with his own pulsing climax.

She didn’t know why but unexpected wetness leaked from the corners of her eyes.

He swept a trail of kisses over her neck and face, between each ragged breath. Feeling the slick of moisture, Nash brushed his palms over her hairline. Concern weaved across his forehead. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

She shook her head in a quick back and forth.

“You’re not regretting—”

“No. Not at all. I don’t know why—” Casting her eyes to the side, she attempted to avoid the look of concern burning in his gaze. Nash touched the tip of his nose to hers, pinning down her attention. Blue eyes filled with worry. “I’m not sure why I got a little emotional there for a second…I just…I don’t think anything has ever felt so good to me before.”

Tiny creases near his eyes deepened as a slow smile grew over his face, burnishing his cheeks with a crimson hue. The haughty grin burned so brightly it bordered on obnoxious.

Ember attempted to hide her embarrassment beneath the palms of her hands, but Nash collected them one at a time, lacing his fingers between hers, bringing them to his lips.

A severe blush covered her from head to toe. She twisted her head taking a gentle bite of his bicep. Her soft laugher carried through the quiet room. “Zip it, mister. No need to feed that ego of yours. It’s already as big as the state of Texas.”

Nash slowly stole his thumb over her bottom lip, dragging it downward until her lips parted. The shadow of the moon ignited the intensity in his eyes. “I’ll never interpret the word please the same way again. My dick’s hard just thinking about the way it slipped off your sweet lips. I’m completely ruined for life.”

Shamelessly, she squirmed at the fullness of him already growing inside. It hadn’t even been two minutes and the man was already hard.

“Please,” she said playfully, wiggling her hips.

He twisted his head in disagreement. Sifting his fingers through her dark hair, he tugged on the thick mane, rocking his hips against hers. “Try again.”

“Oh fuck,” she groaned.

“Close. Try again.”

He tangled his fingers deeper into her mane, tugged a little stronger and she whimpered from the pleasure of it. “Please, Nash.”

His eyes gleamed roguishly. The hushed rumble of his amusement reverberated through the room right before he withdrew.

“Hey, no, wait. I was serious.”

“So am I,” Nash assured, glancing down at his erection to make the point. “I need a shower.”

He curled a finger, motioning for her to join him.

Ember scurried from the bed and followed right behind him.

Working in a yoga studio, she’d seen more than her fair share of half-naked men, not to mention, living in Malibu came with some visual perks. Hordes of physically fit men littered the beach daily, their good looks enough to give any woman in their right mind a severe case of whiplash. However, she’d never seen a man look as sexy as Nash.

Breathing in the steam laden air, her hands sluiced over the dense muscles of his chest and back as sheets of water flowed over his sleek, bare form. The sensual moment ranked as one of the most erotic things she’d ever experienced. She nearly had to pick her mouth up off the shower floor when he turned his face into the cascade of water, sudsy water flowing over his firm butt.

After sharing a shower, they fell into bed, indulging in another round of no holds barred sex. He was wickedly thorough and creative, constantly praising her flexibility as he twisted her into positions that were going to make her blush when the sun came up.

As the night played out, the term good lovin’ took on a whole new significance. He gladly assisted her with several more orgasms, and that was only if she didn’t consider his kisses to be an act of sex all by themselves…which was a strong likelihood.

The man was a seriously good kisser.

Chapter 12

Ember

Every time you make a choice, a decision, your life forks off into a new possibility.

Early morning sunshine filtered through the windows, warming the back of her legs. Ember slept, exhausted and sedated, one arm and leg sprawled out over his body. Her soft curves conformed perfectly to his hard muscles.

Reaching blindly across the bed, she found a handful of cold rumpled sheets. Lifting her head from the pillow, Ember peered over the edge of the bed searching for his clothes on the floor, but they were gone.

A cold ache snapped in her chest.

When she invited him to stay, she assumed, kind of, that the night might be a one-time deal, but the reality of it stabbed at her conscience. She’d never participated in a casual sexual encounter and even though he’d brought her to an incredible high, the morning after was going to bring her to her knees.

Dragging herself from the comfort of her bed, she trudged across the wood floor to the bathroom, avoiding her reflection in the mirror. No need to see the image of her dejected face in the full morning light. It already hurt enough.

Many of her friends shared stories of no-strings attached encounters, exploring their sexuality, owning it as a rite of passage for their twenties. She never judged, and on occasion envied, their lighthearted attitude. She often wished she could do the same, but the likelihood of guilt and regret that would follow had never been worth the risk.
