And last but not least, thank you to my husband, Benjamin, for feeding me not just while I was writing this book, but every day for the past thirty plus years.

About the book
Author s Note
Writing No Words was an exciting challenge for me, because it wasn’t simply a romantic comedy—it also contained a book within a book. Not only that, but it was set at a book festival, with separate itineraries for each of the main characters, and many of the secondary characters as well.
Because Jo, the main character, had what I’d call a “laissez-faire” attitude about getting to her scheduled events on time. (Unlike me. I’m much more of a “Bernadette” about timeliness when I’m attending an event, but I know lots of authors who are more like Jo. I admire them for being so laid back.)
One way I attempted to keep all of these narrative threads straight was by creating separate documents for them. Here, for example, is Jo’s itinerary, even though she never looked at it. I certainly did, so I could keep track of where she was going when, and what she needed to be doing:

To keep track of the narrative thread in Will’s book The Moment, which gives Jo some insight into Will’s feelings for her, and that he just might be a changed man after his “betrayal” of her, I also wrote enough chapters of that story to have a clear idea of what exactly transpires. Originally, all of these chapters appeared in No Words.
But unlike Will and Jo, I do not suffer from a lack of words. These chapters were quite lengthy, and I felt they might be distracting readers from what was really important—the love story between Will and Jo! So I cut them down significantly.
But they’re all available on the Little Bridge Island series page on megcabot.com if you find you want more of Johnny and Melanie’s story!
Thanks again for reading No Words, and remember, if you see a shooting star or the green flash—make a wish!
