Worst Boss Ever(46)
Author: J. S. Cooper

“What’s that supposed to mean? It’s not like I did it on purpose.”

“Really, now. You just happen to bring your vibrator with you, and it just happens to get found in your hand luggage, and now we just happen to have one room. Are you trying to tell me something that you’re scared to tell me in person?”

“What is that supposed to mean? What am I trying to tell you?”

“That you want us to … you know?” He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

“Um, I don’t know what you mean, and whatever you’re thinking is highly unlikely and not true because I could not care less about being intimate with you, so there!”

“If you had no idea what I was talking about, why did you immediately start talking about us being intimate?”

“You know what, Mr. McAllister? I thought that you were actually a better boss and I don’t even, I …” I stumbled over my words. I knew I wasn’t making sense.

“Cat got your tongue, Abby?” he grinned. “Or perhaps you want the tongue somewhere else?”

“Mr. McAllister, really?”

I was outraged but at the same time, I was incredibly turned on. My entire body felt flushed, and I could feel that my panties were wet. What was going on? Why was I having this reaction to him?

The lady behind the desk interrupted us. “Um, so I have your room keys. Would you like one or two keys?”

“I think one key is fine,” Mr. McAllister nodded.

“No, I think we should have two, thank you, because what if we want to go out at different times or—”

“I’ll make two,” she said quickly, handing him back his credit card. “You’re going to be on the fifth floor. If you go that way, you can take the elevator up and your room number is 563. Thank you. Enjoy your stay.”

“Thank you.” Dylan grabbed our suitcases and headed towards the elevator. “Coming, Abby?” he said over his shoulder.

“I’m coming,” I muttered, following behind him.

“That’s what I like to hear,” he grinned. “Maybe I’ll hear that later tonight as well.”

“You wish, Mr. McAllister.”

“I wish or you wish?”

“What has come over you?” I said.

“What has come over me? Nothing just yet,” he grinned, “but maybe later.”

“Just stop it, okay. I don’t know what happened. I booked two hotel rooms. In fact, I didn’t even think about it before, but I could have brought up my confirmation emails. Let’s go back. I’m going to show her. It’s not my fault.”

“I believe you, Ms. Waldron,” he grinned as the elevator beeped. “Let’s just go to the room. We’re both tired. We’ll see how we feel tomorrow.”

“I don’t want to share a bed with you.”

“Contrary to popular belief, Abby, I don’t want to share a bed with you, either. I was just teasing you. I’m very capable of staying on my side of the bed, and I trust you’ll be capable of staying on your side of the bed, correct?”

“Correct,” I agreed.

“Then I don’t think we have a problem. I’m very tired, and I would like to go to sleep.”

“I’m very tired, and I would like to go to sleep,” I mocked him.

He laughed. “Is that really how I sound to you?”

“Yes,” I said.

He pressed the five button in the elevator and we stood on opposite sides of the elevator. This was going to be a long five days. I couldn’t believe what a come-down this was. I’d been so excited and happy just yesterday, and now it seemed like the karma gods were out to get me.

Sleeping in the same bed as Dylan would be awkward. He might be able to keep his hands off of me, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to keep my hands off of him. Who knew what he wore to bed? And who knew how I was going to be feeling?

He was a stud. I couldn’t lie to myself. And he’d been part of many dreams—shit, he’d been part of a fantasy I’d had the other morning when I’d pleasured myself. It was going to be hard to lie in a bed next to him and not touch him.

I was just going to have to do my best.

Chapter 32

Dylan

* * *

I was wicked.

I had been the one to change the reservations. I smiled to myself as I stood at the elevator watching Abby glaring at the door, steam practically coming out of her ears. She had no idea, and I was glad that she didn’t even suspect that it was me.

I wanted Abby Waldron more than I’d ever wanted any woman in my life, and I was determined to have her. I could tell that she wanted me. I knew she felt the same urges that I did, and after seeing that vibrator in her luggage, well, that had shown me she was thinking about sex, too.

Ms. Abby Waldron was a horn ball, and I was determined to give it my best shot with her. I knew the best chance we would have of exploring our sensual side was if we were in the same room—and the same bed.

It was a little underhanded, but it was for the best. At least, I thought it was for the best. I wouldn’t force myself on a woman; if she didn’t want me, she didn’t want me. But I had a feeling that she really wanted me just as badly as I wanted her.

The elevator dinged to alert us that we were on our floor, and we walked out. We made our way to the room, Abby darting looks at me as we walked in. The bed was only a double, not even a king.

“It’ll be hard for us to have a lot of room in between us.” I chuckled to myself. This was going to be very interesting. “So, would you like to shower first?” I looked at her as I put the suitcases down.

“Um, yes I would like a shower, actually.” She put her suitcase on the bed and unzipped it. “I’m feeling quite tired, but I’m also feeling hungry. Do you think we’re going to eat soon?”

“Why don’t we get room service,” I suggested, “so you can put on your pj’s and we can be comfortable.”

“Okay, sounds good. Can we …” she paused and then looked away.

“Can we what?” Was she going to ask me if we could be intimate? This was something I didn’t see coming.

“Can we see if ‘Come Dine With Me’ is on the T.V.?” she asked

“Sorry, what?” I had no idea what she was talking about.

“There’s this English show that I love called ‘Come Dine With Me.’ I mean, I know we’re in Scotland, and I don’t know if it’ll be on here, but it would be really cool if it was.”

“You want to watch a T.V. show?”

“Yeah, while we’re eating our room service and waiting to fall asleep, right?”

“I don’t really watch T.V., Miss Waldron. I don’t have time for T.V.”

“Oh. Of course. Okay.”

She looked so disappointed that I grabbed the remote control. “Here you go,” I sighed. “See if your dining show is on tonight. If it is, we can watch it.”

“Thank you, sir.”

“Dylan, remember?”

“Yes, I know Dylan.” She yawned. She was so cute when she yawned. Cute and sexy. I felt a stirring in my pants. Now was probably not the right time to make a move, though, not when she was talking about watching cooking programs. If she’d mentioned something dark and sexy, I might have seen that as a signal. But a show called ‘Come Dine with Me’ didn’t sound like code for anything fun. I’d watch it with her and feign interest. I didn’t want her to think that all I wanted was to get into her pants.
