“Thank you for saving Edie,” Ryker whispered. “But what other bouquet?”
Kenzie motioned for Gator who ran up with a bouquet of beef and chicken jerky made into the shapes of flowers. Kenzie gave a melodic whistle and down by the river a bellow answered.
Ryker and her guests followed as Kenzie left the tent and walked toward the river. From deep in the shadows, Bubba came lumbering forward. He stopped ten feet away and opened his mouth. Kenzie turned toward her stunned friends and smiled before tossing the jerky bouquet over her head. She turned to see Bubba snap it out of the air. He smiled and then disappeared back into the water.
“You tamed Bubba. I can’t believe it,” Ryker said with a laugh.
“What can I say, he loves me.”
“But not nearly as much as I do. You’re my light, my heart, and my soul.” Ryker kissed her and Kenzie felt as if her life was complete. But this was only the beginning. After all, she had some pie to earn.
