Immortal's Honor (Dark Protectors #14)(51)
Author: Rebecca Zanetti

His grin was wicked. “I’d say you’re doing a fine job right now.” With one hard push, he made it all the way inside.

She sharply drew air in her nose, her body kindling with a hungry energy. One only he could satisfy. She leaned up and nipped beneath his whiskered jaw, inhaling his fresh scent. “How was it?”

“Ugly.” He leaned down and kissed her again. “Don’t want to talk about it.”

Right now didn’t seem the right time anyway. “Okay,” she whispered. “What do you want to do?”

He grabbed her hip, pinning her to the mattress with his strong body. His body covered all of her and then some, but he kept his bulk from suffocating her. Then he rocked his hips back and forth, watching her carefully.

Heat filled her and zaps of pleasure shot through her, from breasts to clit and back.

His grin was one of triumph and his gaze one of possession. Before she could question him or draw back into herself a little bit, just for a sense of self-preservation, he thrust.

   Hard.

She mewled and gripped his warm body. Then he did it again, scraping his length along her internal walls and stealing any desire for self-protection. “More,” she whispered.

He gave her more. Harder and faster, he filled her, covering her with raw strength. Bliss consumed her, and she tried to hold on and stay in the moment. “Go over,” he whispered against her mouth.

She fought him. Fought falling over the edge and exploding. Just to stay in this moment of quiet, this moment of stretched tension, this moment of perfection. He hammered harder, watching her, challenge darkening the green in his eyes to something else. A color she couldn’t identify.

   Then he pinched her nipple.

She cried out, her internal walls clenching around his length, and exploded. Her body undulated against his, her breasts shaking, her body moving from the force of his.

He pounded harder, even as she came down and tried to catch her breath. “Again.” It was an order.

“No,” she protested, her body not listening to her. At all.

“Ah, baby.” He kissed her, going deep, ending with a sharper bite to her bottom lip. “You don’t get to tell me no.” At that proclamation, one she would certainly argue about later, he changed his angle and hit her clit. Hard.

Her eyes might’ve rolled back in her head. The primal pleasure robbed her of all sense, all caution, all fear. She moved against him, needing more. Demanding it. Higher and higher she climbed, holding her breath, her entire body going stiff and still as she teetered on another edge.

   He shoved her right over.

She screamed his name, shattering into too many pieces to count. The orgasm pummeled through her, sparking out, flying her into nothingness. Gasping, panting, her body still shaking, she let the last wave crest. Only then did she become aware of those glittering, all-knowing jade-colored eyes fixed to her face.

He’d watched her the entire time. “Sam,” she whispered.

His face turned stark, determined. He pounded faster, deeper inside her than she would’ve thought possible. He held her in place, his body powerful, his essence wrapping around them like a shield. His jaw tensed, and he dropped his head to the crook of her neck.

Pain slashed deep into her flesh, and she cried out, her eyes opening wide.

He jerked against her as he came, groaning her name. Then his body slowly relaxed. He lifted up, and there was blood on his mouth.

   She blinked. Her neck stung.

He eyed her and then leaned down, licking her entire neck. Warmth and numbness spread, and then nothing. He licked his lips and pressed a soft kiss to her cheek. Then he rolled to the side and planted a hand across her abdomen.

“You bit me,” she whispered, her hand going to her perfectly healed neck.

“Yep. You taste like wild strawberries on a hot day,” he murmured.

Well, that was sweet. Yet the idea that the same fangs that had pretty much decapitated an enemy soldier the other day had been in her neck made her tremble. Sam Kyllwood was as dangerous as dangerous got, even in this new immortal world she was learning about.

“Go to sleep, Honor,” he said quietly, his breath at her ear. “We’ll figure it all out in the morning.”

Regardless of her spinning mind, her traitorous body just went right ahead and obeyed him. She was dreaming of puppies and lake cabins within minutes.

   * * * *

Sam contented himself with listening to Honor’s soft breathing for a while before sliding from the bed. He tugged jeans up over his hips and left the room, grabbing two beers on his way through the cabin to the front porch. He sat on the edge, watching the forest and drinking slowly. Two beers would help him settle down and return to bed.

He sensed Garrett before he saw him.

G ran full out by the river, a long line of angry male. His head was down and his legs pumping furiously. A human probably would only see a blur. He caught wind of Sam and pivoted, reaching the deck in minutes. “For me?”

“Sure.” Sam held out the extra beer bottle. He had plenty more. “You okay?”

“No. You?” Garrett wore shorts and tennis shoes, and sweat rolled in rivulets down his hard-cut chest.

Sam shook his head. He was better after his couple of hours in bed with Honor, but not great. “I’m trying to figure out what happened and why, but I’ve got nothing.” They’d rescued the six Enhanced females, finding that two of them had been tortured in every possible way. They’d been taken to a Realm hospital in Canada for help, and they’d need a lot of it.

Garrett sank onto the deck next to Sam. He took the beer and drank it back, setting the empty bottle next to him. “We’ve rescued many kidnapped victims, but they’ve never been used like that. Hurt like that.” Anger rolled with every consonant. “So it raises the question.”

Sam nodded. “Yeah. This is something new.”

“A psychotic rogue Kurjan soldier? One who isn’t playing by their rules?” Garrett kicked out his legs.

“I don’t know.” The women had been too traumatized to speak; hopefully the Realm doctors would be able to get some answers. “We need to know who it is so we can take them out. Right now,” Sam said.

“Agreed,” Garrett muttered. “We also need to let the news out that this happened. If the leaders of the Kurjan nation have a rogue on their hands, they’ll take care of it. I thought all of these poor kidnapped women were to be saved for Ulric.” He sighed. “Or Jaydon, if we have that correct.”

Jaydon was a Cyst general who might be trying to duplicate Ulric’s earlier ritual to make himself invincible. The jury was out on it.
