Dad Bod Rockstar(8)
Author: Melissa Schroeder

I’m just slipping some gloss over my lips when I hear him knocking downstairs. Excitement fills me as I look at myself one more time in the mirror, then I slip on my sandals and go downstairs to meet him.

When I open the door, he’s smiling, and his eyes light up when they see me. Or at least that’s what I think.

“Hey.” Brilliant, Blossom. Way to woo him with your conversation skills.

“You look great.”

“Thank you.”

“Should we get going?”

I nod and step out, then lock the door behind me.

“I thought we could go to the Farmer’s Table.”

“That sounds fabulous.”

It’s my favorite savory place to eat, and I bet he knows that. He’s parked in the alley, so we both slip into the car. One of the things I love about Farmer’s is that it is a little ways out of town. I don’t go that often because they only serve dinner on weeknights. Getting a table during lunch on the weekends is almost insane. We’re close enough to the big cities in Northern Virginia and Charlottesville that tourists come down just for lunch.

We pass by the old Meyer house, and I smile at it. The path is a mess and overgrown with things, but I still love the big circular drive.

Niall must pick up on my thoughts because he slows down to a crawl.

“So that’s the house?”

I smile and look over at him. “Yeah, I know it’s not very pretty at the moment. But I would love to fix it up. I bet it has a huge kitchen.”

“Big house for just you.”

“I want to have a whole houseful of kids.”

Something passes over his face, and I worry that I’ve freaked him out.

“I don’t mean right now.”

“It sounds really nice.”

“Thanks. Being the only child of hippies who didn’t want a child wasn’t fun. I mean, my Grandma did a good job of loving me and raising me right, but I always wanted siblings.”

He nods. “Me too. I knew it would have been much worse with more mouths to feed, but it would have been nice to have someone else when I was growing up.”

I nod as he speeds up. It’s another thing we have in common. An only child raised by a female on her own.

He’s leaving tomorrow, and this is probably a bad idea. Getting into bed with a rockstar with his following might not be the smartest thing I have ever done, but I definitely want to do it. It’s like all these little signs are pushing me to that final choice.

I slant him a look. Now, maybe if I can get the rockstar in question to agree, everything will be wonderful.

NIALL

The night has been perfect. I rented out the entire restaurant so we wouldn’t be bothered. I don’t want Blossom to be overwhelmed by my celebrity, and it seemed the easiest way to take her out to dinner. She appeared completely amused by all of it.

“Want to come in for dessert?”

We’re sitting outside of her bakery, and damned do I want some dessert. But I’m not sure we’re talking about the same kind of treat. Either way, I will follow her anywhere. Just as I thought the first night I had dinner with her, I will probably spend the rest of my life following her.

“That sounds fantastic.”

The smile she gives me hits me straight in the chest. Damn, this woman is getting to me, and I have yet to really get beyond a bit of kissing. By the time we’re in her apartment, my hands are almost shaking with need. I need to get it together. It’s not like this is my first or hers. She’s mentioned something about one guy, and I assume they had sex. And that makes me angry, which is stupid considering all the women I’ve slept with.

“Are you okay, Niall?”

I pull away from those thoughts and smile at her. She shakes her head.

“You’re not fooling me, Niall. I can see you’re upset about something.”

I try to think of something—anything—to tell her, but I can’t. She’s so pretty. All her long dark hair is up, and I want to feel it in my fingers, to know how it feels against my chest, hold it in my hands as I kiss the fuck out of her.

“Niall?”

Still, no words come to me, so I step closer and slip my hand around her waist. With one more yank, she’s flush against me. I have been waiting for this all week, but it seems more than just another night. It feels like I am on the precipice of something special, so as I lean my head down, I make sure to lay out my intentions.

“I would love to take you to bed.”

Her tongue slips out and wets her bottom lip. She is definitely trying to kill me here.

“I would like that too,” she says, but before she finishes saying her last word, I swoop in for a kiss. My hands are in her hair, pulling it out of the messy bun she has it in, and I am falling into this kiss.

This time, I hold nothing back. I let her feel everything in me. She hums against my tongue, and the tiny vibrations ring through my entire body. I slip my arms down to lift her up, and she wraps her legs around me. I pull back from the kiss just long enough to get to the bedroom. After laying her down on the bed, I cover her with my body. I don’t hesitate to put my mouth on hers again.

But I want more. I want to skim my tongue down her body and taste her pussy. I swivel my hips. She moans against my mouth. Jesus, I can feel her heat through our clothing.

I pull back from her and then roll off her. “I need you naked. Like now.”

I expect her to balk at the roughness in my voice, but she hurries to tear her clothes off, throwing them all over the place. Her apartment is neat as a pin, and I have seen the way she is in the kitchen. This bodes well for me.

She’s lying back, and I lick my lips as I curl my fingers. “Come here, darlin’.”

Blossom slips on top of me.

“Sit up and then scoot up here. I want you sitting on my face.”

Her eyes widen, but she does as I ask. Once she’s right over my face, I slip my tongue between her folds. Fuck, she’s wet and needy. Once I get to get my dick inside of her, I know we’ll fit perfectly.

She settles her hands against the wall as she starts to gyrate her hips.

“Fuck, yeah, Blossom, that’s it, ride my face.”

She does as I ask, her moans growing louder by the second. Then she jolts, screaming out my name as she comes. I hold her still, making sure to push her orgasm to new heights.

I lift her off me, setting her on the mattress beside me, then I rise out of bed. I strip out of my clothes as she watches me with a lazy smile. She rises to her knees once I’m completely naked.

I let her touch me because I am helpless to tell her no. I don’t think I will ever be able to deny her anything she wants. She smooths her hands over my chest, then trails them down to my stomach. I’ve never been a man who had a problem with my weight, but for the first time, this woman isn’t with me for my stardom. She’s with the real me, just for me, and for the first time ever, I worry about my weight.

“You know, one of the things I find so sexy about you is that you have a little bit of belly. You’re normal.”

She looks up at me, worry in her eyes. “I didn’t—”

Lowering my head, I stop her words with my mouth.
