The O Zone (Bears Hockey II #1)(29)
Author: Kelly Jamieson

“Need to fuck you again, baby,” I mutter, rising on my knees. I reach over for another condom and roll it on in a flash.

“Yes.” She reaches for me as I move over her.

As I slide inside her, her orgasm still pulses around me, and fuck, I’m lost. I lay my mouth on hers, my lips still slick from her, my tongue pushing into her mouth. Hands in her hair, I’m wild for the feel of her, the movement of our bodies together in a perfect rhythm as I thrust into her, over and over, a long, pure slide of delicious silk and friction. I pour myself into her, groaning into her mouth, breathing her in, completely engrossed and entranced. Obliterated.

Long, heaving, throbbing moments later, she says, “Now this is what I call the O zone.”

I choke on a laugh and roll to my side, bringing her with me, still joined to her. “Oh yeah.”

Everything is sexy.

I mean, everything. I’ve never been so obsessed.

We do eventually get out of bed, still without talking about what’s happening with us. That’s fine with me!

We spend the afternoon with the others at the nearby water park, which turns out to not be that great. Oh well, it’s fun anyway, and we’re all good sports about it. Back at the resort, we converge on one of the bars for drinks and snacks and decide to go into town for dinner tonight. Nadia has piles of pamphlets, planning our various activities for tomorrow.

Owen is very touchy feely, setting his hand on my arm, my leg, rubbing my back. This isn’t just faking it—he seems to really like touching me. We’re in swimsuits with lots of bare skin and it’s easy to brush up against him. In the pool at the park, he carried me around, my legs wrapped around his waist, and I could feel his erection. I love it.

Every time I think about last night, my belly flip flops, and I want him again. I’ve never had sex all night before, and now I’m so horny I could do him right here in the bar.

Not really.

We keep glancing at each other and smirking and touching. We’re kind of sickening, but I don’t care.

I check the time on my phone. “I need to go video chat with Cat,” I say quietly to Owen. “This is a good time.”

“Sure. Let’s go.”

“You don’t have to come.”

He smiles. “I’ll come with you.”

Up in our room, he makes sure I’m all set up and when Cat’s face appears on the screen, he leans in. “Hi, Cat!”

“Hi, Owen!”

“I’ll let you talk,” he murmurs to me, then takes a book out onto the balcony.

I follow him with my eyes, gratitude expanding warmly inside me, then turn back to my phone. “Hey, Kit Cat! How are things?”

“Good! I got an A on my social studies project. The one about comparing the deforestation of Easter Island with the deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest.”

“Fantastic! You worked hard on that.”

“Yeah.” She smiles. “I’m happy about my grade, but I’m not happy about what’s happening in the rainforest.”

I nod solemnly.

“Did you know that the cattle business is responsible for nearly eighty percent of the deforestation?”

“Um, maybe?” Yikes. I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the rainforest lately.

“I might want to become a vegetarian.”

I blink. “Oh. Well, that’s…cool. Can we talk about it when I get home?”

“Sure. How’s your trip?”

We chat more about Aruba and her schoolwork and the surprising news that Vince picked her up from pottery class. She seems happy and at ease, and I know her well enough that I can tell it’s not just an act.

When we’re done talking, I set down my phone and sigh.

“Everything okay?” Owen asks from the doorway.

“Oh yeah. She’s great!”

“I’m sure she misses you.”

“Yes, she said she did, but she’s doing fine.”

Owen sits next to me. “That’s a good thing. Why do you seem down? Do you miss her?”

“I do, of course. I just…well, I guess she can survive without me.”

“Well, she probably can. But why would she want to?”

“Aw. You are so sweet.” I turn into his arms and plant a big kiss on him.

“She needs you. But it’s good that she can manage without you for a little while. That’s what the goal is when you bring up kids…right?”

I tip my head back. “Yes. You’re absolutely right.” He just made me feel so much better.

He drags me into the shower with him to get ready for dinner. With soap suds and steamy hot water, we take care of each other.

“Gimme an O…” I murmur to him. “O.”

He chokes on a laugh

“Another O Zone,” I add.

“Oh yeah.”

After, I stretch out naked on the bed, relaxed and content. The ceiling fan twirls above me, sending currents of air wafting over my bare skin. I stretch my arms above my head and point my toes.

“Jesus, you’re hot,” Owen says. “Stop doing that or we won’t make it for dinner.”

I smile. “Stop being hot?”

“Yeah.”

“No, you stop.”

He shakes his head as he finds clothes to wear. Reluctantly, I roll off the bed to make myself presentable.

I find another sundress, this one blue floral with spaghetti straps that tie in bows on my shoulders. As I apply makeup, Owen comes into the bathroom, stands behind me, hands on my upper arms, and kisses my shoulder.

“Careful,” I say. “If you kiss my neck, we’re not leaving this room tonight.”

He laughs and grabs his toiletry bag. “Filing that away under things for later.”

I can’t wait.

Nadia picked the restaurant and made a reservation, and it’s like a dream—located on a pier right over the water. They’ve set a long table for us at one railing. White lights and glowing candles surround us, the ocean breeze softly teasing skin and hair.

We eat seafood bisque, grilled garlic shrimp, and lobster tails, while drinking a delicious sauvignon blanc.

“Do you ever choose which will be the last bite you eat, so your mouth will remember it?” I ask Owen.

He lowers his chin to look at me. “What?”

“No, huh? Just me, I guess.”

“You do that?”

“Yeah. I’m going to make my last bite this lobster, so I remember it.”

“You’re a nut.” But his eyes are warm and affectionate as he says that.

I’m in heaven, leaning my head on Owen’s shoulder to peer up at the stars, laughing at Nadia and Igor’s antics, so at ease it’s easy to forget Roman and Vince’s attempt to intimidate me and how much I miss Cat.

After dinner, we move a little down the beach to a bar. It’s noisier and crowded, super casual, with picnic tables on the sand and music playing. We start talking to some other people there who turn out to be Americans and further turn out to be hockey fans, so the guys have some time in the spotlight talking about the All Star Game and the upcoming playoffs. They’re very gracious about it, which I like.
