“That sucks then. You need to get laid. We’ll find some wild, kinky babe to tear you apart. What do you think?”

Thorne laughs again, still leaning back. “Nah. I’m not in the mood.”

“Too soon.” I pat his bare thigh, squeezing his muscles for just a second. “Next week.”

“Maybe. Was, um, was this dude your best?”

“Hmm…” I try to think back on past lovers. “Right up there if not. Top five for sure. He’s a beast. Huge dick and—” I slap my hand over my mouth. “Sorry,” I mumble.

Thorne just laughs. “It’s okay. I’m pretty sure you’ve put up with spectacular tits comments from me before.”

“I guess so. I never want to gross you out though.”

“Hey.” He sits up, locking eyes with me. “I’m never grossed out by you. Ever.”

“Thanks. Remember that time before I admitted I’m gay, when we hooked up with those girls from the bar?”

He chuckles, nodding. “Oh yeah. How could I forget that night? I was more worried about what you would think about me than the girl.”

I pinch my brow, trying to make sense of his words. “Huh?”

Thorne nods. “Fucking a girl right next to your bestie? That’s pressure. I wanted you to think I was a stud. Didn’t you think about that?”

“Nah, I was too busy hoping my dick stayed hard for her.”

“What did you do?”

I watched my best friend’s dick slide in and out of the girl he was with. Definitely kept me hard and definitely keeping that to myself.

“It just worked out. Man, I just wanted to be like you.”

“What do you mean?”

“I wanted to be charming and sexy like all the ladies think you are. I wanted to bring women home and enjoy it. I think that night I finally accepted it wasn’t going to happen.”

“Why?”

“I remember looking at you and noticing how into it you were. I just knew that’s not what I felt. I could get it up for a blowjob, but the rest of it…”

Thorne frowns, grabbing my hand. “I wish you’d told me sooner. We could’ve gone to some gay clubs for you.”

“You should probably never go to a gay club. I don’t have enough arms to fight off all the men who’d be trying to get to you.”

“Yeah? I’m hot in gay circles?”

“Dude.”

He grins. He knows he’s hot. Even though he’s pretty humble, he’d have to be blind not to know.

“If things don’t work out with Aldis, then I’m taking you to a gay club,” Thorne announces. “It’s only fair.”

“Fair? That was like twenty years ago.”

“Fair is fair.”

“Fine then. You’re on.”

“Good. We don’t have any more beer.”

“We don’t need any more beer.”

Hawthorne focuses on me, a slow smile pulling at his lips once he does. “I know I’m straight, but I can admit Aldis is good-looking.”

“He is. Enough about him though. Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I’m way better now.” He finally realizes he’s still holding my hand, but instead of letting go, he tightens his grip. There are no more words between us, and there doesn’t need to be. We’ve always been comforted by each other’s presence.

I can’t get my hopes up though. It won’t be long before he finds another beautiful woman to share his bed with. He’s not gay, and no amount of hoping will change that.

ALDIS

Best fuck of my life? Check.

Now what? I have no idea if Bowen will be down for more, but I plan to give it a try. I gotta be cool though. That much is obvious. He’s not talkative and only gave small glimpses into who he is. All I know is that the roommate means something to him. His reaction was obvious.

Can’t blame the guy. The roommate is hot as fuck. Hawthorne, I think he said. Hmmph. Hot name too. Allegedly straight, but he could barely tear his eyes from my dick, which only intensified when Bowen entered the room. Wonder if something is going on there.

I drive back to my place, ready to shower and relax, but I can’t erase the memory of Bowen from my mind. His body is a work of art, but damn, the man can kiss. Sliding inside him was heaven, and yeah, I definitely want a repeat.

Once I’m showered and sitting on my couch, I open my laptop to check my email, hoping the details for the mountain climbing club I want to join are waiting for me, but not yet. I knew they didn’t have an opening, but you never know when someone will drop out and make room for me. Not that I can’t go alone. I do it all the time, but the camaraderie of a group is nice.

For now, I need to clear my mind of hobbies and hookups and focus on work for a few hours. Things have been picking up with my consulting business. Running my own company helping businesses with their technology and IT needs is a dream come true. I’m one lucky son of a bitch.

I get a few hours of work done, contacting my overseas customers before calling it a day. I haven’t stopped replaying my afternoon with Bowen, but there’s always a chance I’ll be able to charm him out of his shorts again. There’s no way he didn’t enjoy that as much as I did.

Connections like that are rare and worthy of trying again. At least I know where to find the guy. Hopefully, he’s as desperate for more as I am. There’s only one way to find out, and I plan to do exactly that.

Chapter Three

Hawthorne

The sound of grunting draws me down the hallway from my bedroom to the living room. It’s been a week since the afternoon delight incident, and I’ve become a lot more cautious since then, so I don’t go barreling toward the noise like I would’ve in the past. Instead, I pause at the end of the hallway, just outside the living room, and listen for another minute.

Bowen’s rhythmic grunting is the only sound I hear. No other voices, no slapping of skin, which can only mean one thing…

“You’ve gotta be kidding me, man,” I say, stepping into the living room and startling my best friend into falling directly onto his face.

“Dude, what the fuck?” he complains, getting to his hands and knees and glaring at me. His muscles are bulging, his skin and shirt damp with sweat, his hair hanging messily over his glistening forehead.

For some reason, it brings the other day rushing back to me in full force, the sight of him all naked and debauched. I shake the image off before it has the chance to fully form…again.

“You can’t hide from him forever. Go back to the gym.”

Bowen frowns at me and launches into another set of push-ups. “I’m. Not. Hiding,” he insists between grunts. There’s something oddly mesmerizing about the way his muscles flex and bulge with each one.

“You’ve been doing your workouts in the living room all week,” I point out.

“It’s good enough.”

I roll my eyes. Stubborn fuck. “Right. That’s why you were trying to convince me to lie on your back to add weight to your push-ups yesterday.”
