Neighbors with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle Book 8)(43)
Author: Whitley Cox

“Eva?”

She allowed her gaze to drift back to his face, where flecks of gold sparkled in the dark brown of his beautiful eyes.

“You okay?”

Sighing, she brushed her lips over his. “You are just making it damn near impossible to not fall in love with you, Scott Dixon. I am powerless to your charms.”

If she was wearing panties, his grin would have caused them to fly right off. He rolled her onto her back and settled between her thighs, her body relaxing beneath his weight.

They kissed like they had all the time in the world, because although they didn’t have all the time in the world, they did have the morning and afternoon to spend in bed. Though something told her that that was nowhere near enough. She wanted Scott in her bed every night.

Hands roamed and fingers explored. She was close simply from the grinding and the way the head of his cock knocked the stiff peak of her clit over and over again. He hadn’t even slipped inside and already she was close to losing her mind.

Without breaking their kiss, he opened his nightstand drawer and went on the hunt for a condom. They’d used a fair few last night. She was a bit surprised he was able to get it up again so soon. They’d only been asleep for a few hours when the sounds of daybreak woke them.

His lips paused over hers, and he stilled. “Shit,” he murmured against her mouth. “Out of condoms.”

“What!”

His chuckle and the way his body lightly shook on hers, brushing against the hard tips of her nipples, sent a shock of electricity right down between her legs. “Fear not, my horny little lass. I have an unopened box in the bathroom. Hang on.” He sprung up off her body, his long, hard cock thwacking against his belly from the motion as he stood up. The room was full of light now, even with the drapes drawn. He made a detour to the bathroom and pulled back the curtain to peer outside. “Nope, they’re not home yet.”

“Who? My boys? They shouldn’t be.”

He let the curtain close and turned to face her. “No, the cows.”

“What cows?”

He was in the bathroom and back out in under a second, a full box of condoms in his hands. “I told you last night that I was going to fuck you until the cows came home, and I just needed to double-check that they weren’t home yet.” That smile … it was most definitely going to be her undoing, if it wasn’t already.

Rolling her eyes, she covered her face with her hand. “Oh, for crying out loud.” Her body trembled as she laughed.

“That’s what you’ll be doing in a sec.” He opened the condom box, pulled out a foil pack and sheathed himself. “Now, where were we?”

Nibbling on her bottom lip, she cupped her breasts and mashed them together before tweaking the nipples between her thumbs and forefingers. “I think you were about to fuck me.”

He held up one finger. “Ah, yes. Thank you. I almost forgot.” With one knee into the bed, he climbed back over her, his cock now locked at her cleft, which was exactly where it belonged.

“Until the cows come home?” he asked, inching forward just a touch so that his cockhead breached the entrance of her channel.

“Until the cows come home.”

With a mighty moo that made her laugh, he surged forward, claiming her fully with one hard, deep and oh-so-satisfying thrust. She lifted her hips up and locked her ankles around his back, enjoying the new angle and the way his pelvis hit her clit.

She bowed her back and he latched onto a nipple, and just as she gasped from the pain-laced pleasure of his teeth scraping her bud, the definitive sound of multiple car doors slamming and children calling out “Mom!” eviscerated any arousal she might have had.

Scott stilled at the same time she did.

“Mom!”

“Mom!”

Okay, that second voice was definitely Lucas. He had a very distinct timber. For seven, it was unusually deep. She’d even gone so far as to have his hormone levels checked to make sure he wasn’t maturing too quickly. He was fine. The kid just sounded more like Mufasa rather than Simba.

“Is that?”

“My children,” she answered, pushing him off her.

He climbed off willingly, going back over to the window, where he pulled back the drapes again and peered out. “And your ex-husband, it would appear.”

Ice flooded her once-bubbling-hot veins.

Why the hell was Todd dropping the boys off? That was not the plan. He wasn’t supposed to set foot on her property.

She was up and off the bed, searching for her underwear among their piles of haphazardly divested clothes, before she even knew what she was doing.

“Where are my underwear?” she breathed out through as a vice of panic began to slowly squeeze around her chest.

“Here.” He passed her the panties, and she slid into them.

Scott was busy searching through the clothes too and came up with her bra, shirt and skirt before she did. She was dressed in no time and barreling down his stairs, her heels in her hands, muttering, “Shit, shit, shit,” under her breath. She flung open his front door and was halfway down the porch steps before she lurched to a stop.

How the hell was she going to explain her whereabouts?

“Run around to the backyard,” Scott offered, standing in his doorway wearing nothing but the same pair of jeans he’d had on last night. “There is an old gate between the two properties. It hasn’t been used in ages, but it still works. Say that you were in the salon cleaning with the radio on and didn’t hear the boys.”

That was an excellent suggestion, but she didn’t have time to admire his quick-thinking skills. She needed to get next door. The boys were still calling out “Mom!” every ten seconds.

With bare feet and sex-head bed-head, she booked it to the backyard and the gate within the fence Scott had mentioned. It squealed like a stuck pig when she heaved it open, but the upside was that it opened at all. She didn’t slow down but made sure to keep an eye on her yard, in case one of her sons, or God forbid her ex-husband, saw her sneaking through the fence.

So far, she was in the clear.

Out of breath, she slowed her roll when she approached the house, smoothing her hair away from her face and hoping it didn’t look as wretched as it did most mornings. She tucked her heels onto one of the deck steps and continued on around the house to the front, where her sons’ voices were growing more panicked.

“Hey!” she said, spying Kellen first. Tears brimmed in his eyes, but when he saw her, his face lit up like the Christmas tree at City Hall.

“Mom!” As if being chased by the monsters he believed lived under his bed, he beelined right for her, nearly knocking her over as he collided with her legs. “Where were you? We were so worried. Lucas! She’s here. I found her.”

She heard her eldest son’s footsteps smacking against the stepping stones that curved around to the other side of the house, his face appearing seconds later. But unlike his little brother, who was not afraid to show his emotions in front of his father, Lucas’s face became calm, almost steely and stoic as he slowed down and walked toward them. Todd turned the corner a moment later.

“Where were you?” Lucas asked, his tone riding the edge between irritated accusation and fear.

“I was just in the salon cleaning with the radio on. I didn’t hear you guys. I’m sorry.” She cupped his cheek and bent at the waist to peck him on the head. “Why are you guys home so early? Why is your dad dropping you off?”
