Heart Dance (Killere Motorcycle Club, #2)(34)
Author: Debra Kayn

He thrust harder. The pleasure too much. He groaned, deep inside of her, coming apart. Spurt after spurt, he filled the condom. Filled her.

He lowered his body, taking her mouth. He needed her air.

Pulling back, he framed her face with his hands and looked her into the eyes. "Do you understand—"

Pounding outside the motel room brought him to his feet. He ripped off the condom, flinging it toward the wastebasket.

"Get dressed." He glanced at the door. The knocking continued.

He'd taken one of the rooms kept open for Killere members in case the beds were full at the clubhouse. No one was staying here. There was no damn reason for someone to interrupt him.

Timber scrambled off the bed. Her drunken gaze he'd had on him now turned to worry. He hooked her neck, bringing her forward, and kissed her hard.

"It'll be okay." He scooped the black panties she'd missed off the floor and shoved them into the pocket of his vest.

Sweeping his gaze over her, making sure she was covered, he went to the door, keeping her behind him.

Outside, Dice stood in the parking lot. Romeo fisted his hands. If he found out it was Timber's dad interrupting them, he was going to kick his ass.

A soft gasp came from behind him. He half-turned, frowning at the way Timber hugged her middle while staring past him. He glanced over at Dice, now seeing a woman standing beside him.

Not understanding the situation, he palmed the back of Timber's neck and said, "What's going on?"

Her shoulders straightened. "That's my mom. If she's here with my dad, I'm going to have to leave Spokane." She looked up at Romeo. "I'm going to have to leave you."

The hell she was. His hold on her tightened. Nobody was taking Timber away from him.

Chapter Twenty Five

The door shut. Timber gazed at Brody, Turner, Caleb, Sander, and Axel. All of the Muel men had gathered at the house because of her. That was a rare event, and their concerned gazes on her threatened to break her.

As soon as her parents had shown up at the motel, Romeo had whisked her away on his Harley and taken her back to the house.

Her dad and mom had rode after them. No matter how much Romeo believed he controlled the situation—a situation he would never understand, the outcome would be the same as it was her whole life.

Her parents showed up together, and she was moved to a different location, a different rental house or apartment. She learned not to ask why years ago. They never gave her a clear answer on how they chose to live. All she knew was that she'd tried to break away by coming to Spokane by herself, and despite taking care of herself, her parents were here, and she'd need to leave.

"You've had an exciting day." Axel fell back on the couch without even looking to see where he sat, plopping his boots on the coffee table. "Kidnapping, drama, family reunion, and going by the look on Romeo's face, someone will die."

She swallowed hard. "What?"

Brody approached her, putting his arm across her shoulders, and steered her toward the overstuffed chair. "Sit."

She plopped into the seat. "What did you mean? Is Romeo going to kill someone? Who?"

"Whoever tries to take you away from him, that's who." Axel sat on the back of the couch. "I know my brother. That look on his face was one I haven't seen on him before." Romeo's brother laughed. "Hell, he looked like a fucking idiot."

"He did not," she blurted, not sure what she was arguing about.

Romeo had tried to sequester her away from her parents when they noticed her outside the motel. He'd raced her home and put her in the house before her dad could stop the motorcycle in the driveway.

While she admired Romeo for his attempt at sheltering her from her parents' displeasure, she'd need to face them sooner or later. No amount of arguing would change their mind when it was time to move on.

"Which biker is that?" asked Sander, standing at the front window peering outside.

Brody walked over and joined his brother at the window. "That's Dice."

"Timber's dad?" Sander's whistled. "He's one pissed-off motherfucker. Think we should go out there?"

"Nah." Brody turned his back to whatever was happening outside.

Timber rocked in the chair, though the four legs stayed planted on the floor. She should go out there and save everyone the trouble of arguing.

"Don't look so worried." Turner tipped back a beer. "You're one of us now. Romeo will set things right. That's one thing he's good at doing. He's gotten me out of trouble lots of times."

Could it be that easy? Romeo claimed to want her, but would he change his mind after learning she had to leave Spokane? He would never leave his home, his club, and his brothers. He'd fought too hard to keep them all together.

She was only one woman. A woman who hadn't had a chance to contribute to his lifestyle.

If she was honest with herself, she needed to face the truth. He barely knew her because she wouldn't allow anyone close enough to get to know her.

"Heads up. We've got incoming." Sander moved away from the window at the same time the front door opened.

Romeo walked in and pointed. "Everyone out. I need the house."

His brothers jumped to do his bidding. She stood, prepared to leave. Romeo pointed at her and motioned for her to sit again.

When his brothers left, she moved to go to him and stopped in the middle of the room when her dad and mom came inside.

Romeo shut the door and came to her side. He brought her to his chest.

Aware of her mom watching her, probably judging her, she tried hard not to melt against Romeo and disappear. She wished with all her might her parents weren't here to end her time with Romeo. If she had a few more days, a month, a year, it would never be enough time with him.

"Running away ends now." He kissed the top of her head. "Your parents have something to tell you."

She looked up at Romeo, confused over how he knew she was leaving already and why he believed he could stop her dad from making her move.

Romeo never looked at her. He stared across the room at her dad.

"Tell her," said Romeo. "The truth."

Her dad shook his head and crossed his arms. She'd seen him go against her mom millions of times, having the same argument. Always, her mom wanted to stay in one place, and her dad would fight and yell until finally, her mom would pack everything up and take her somewhere else to live.

"Either you tell her, or I will." Romeo held the back of her neck gently but firmly, keeping her beside him. "She belongs to me now. I'm not going to let her keep running."

"You're making a mistake." Her dad glared, totally ignoring her. "You won't have a life with her if you open your mouth."

"Are you going to kill me?" asked Romeo.

Timer pushed against him, wanting him to stop. No good would come of egging on her dad.

"You'll lose her."

She whipped her gaze across the room to her dad. It wasn't his right to tell Romeo anything about her. What she had with him was private.

"I'll fight for her."

Her dad shook his head. "We'll all lose her."

"It's not fair to keep this from her."
