The Summer Getaway(64)
Author: Susan Mallery

“Just let the information sit. Nothing’s going to happen for a while.”

She stood and held out her hand. When he took it, she pulled him to his feet, then stepped into his embrace.

Holding her felt good, he thought, breathing in the scent of her hair. She’d used shampoo scented like coconut and vanilla. Her curves pressed into his body, distracting him from his swirling mind.

Giving in to the impulse, he tangled one of his hands in her long, blond hair and pulled her head back just enough for him to kiss her.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and sank into him. Her lips parted, then her tongue welcomed his with a sensual dance that had him hard and hungry in seconds.

He released her hair and dropped his hands to her rear. Her breath caught, and she rubbed against him, groaning slightly as she moved. Unable to help himself, he moved from her mouth to her jaw, then nibbled his way down her neck.

The sound of her faint moans nearly made him come in his pants. She shocked the shit out of him by pulling his hands around to her breasts. They kissed and he explored her curves until they were both breathing hard.

   “Touch me.”

The whispered command had him fumbling with her jeans. Need made him clumsy, but he managed to get the zipper down. She parted her legs even as he slipped his hand against the warm skin of her belly before sliding it into her slick, swollen heat.

She stared at him, her need raw and exposed, her mouth parted. The image of her so aroused, because of him, burned in his brain. He would die remembering this moment, and everyone in the room would wonder why he was smiling.

He moved steadily, watching her, waiting. Seconds later, her orgasm ripped through her. She came, whispering his name, clinging to him, begging him not to stop. She rode his hand and fingers through to the end, then stood there, gasping for breath.

She stared at him with a combination of satisfaction and concern. As if she wasn’t sure what had just happened. No—that wasn’t right. As if worried about what had just happened. Of what he must think of her.

“I’ve never...” She pressed her lips together. Color stained her cheeks. “I can’t believe I asked you to...” She cleared her throat. “I’m usually more contained and...”

He put her hand on his hard dick. “I want you,” he said, staring into her eyes. “I want you, and I can’t believe you let me do that to you. It was incredible. You’re incredible. Honest to God, I’d give my left nut to have a condom on me right now.”

“Do you have one back in your room?”

Her question nearly killed him with desire. “No.”

“You might want to fix that sometime in the next few days.”

Before he could take in that happy bit of news, the world went totally berserk as Robyn undid his belt, opened his jeans, then dropped to her knees and took his dick into her mouth.

   Just. Like. That.

“You can’t,” he began, but she’d gone to work on him, so there was no way he could keep speaking.

The warm heat of her mouth, the steady movement of her hand, conspired to send him toward the edge. It had been so damn long since he’d had company for this, plus it was Robyn. Faster than he would have liked, he lost it, shuddering into his release, giving her all he had.

She kept her mouth on him, moving gently, licking him, teasing until he started laughing.

   “I’m done. I’m done.”

She drew back, and he helped her to her feet. They stared at each other, both smiling.

   “That was unexpected,” he admitted.

   “Yeah, it was.”

There were probably things he was supposed to say, he thought, aware that she was fully dressed, but he was standing there with his shrinking dick hanging out.

Somewhere in the distance, the back door slammed.

   “Mom? You out here?”

   Harlow’s voice carried to them.

“Timing,” Robyn whispered, as she fastened her jeans. “I should probably handle this while you get dressed.”

As he pulled his jeans into place, he watched her walk away. Her conversation with her daughter carried to him.

“I figured I could go to the grocery store,” Harlow was saying. “We’ll need a bunch of stuff.”

“I was thinking the same thing, but I thought maybe I’d send Mason in to do the shopping.”

   That made him grin.

“No, I’ll go,” Harlow said. “I never trust guys to buy food.”

“All right. Let’s make a list, and you and Austin can go.”

Their voices faded as they walked into the house. Mason gave himself a few minutes before he followed. Later, he would swing by the drugstore. As long as Robyn was in his life, he was never going to be unprepared again.

ROBYN SPENT THE rest of the day alternating between satisfaction and shock. Her Mason-generated orgasm had been pretty spectacular, but she still couldn’t believe they’d done that right there on the patio. Or that she’d asked him to touch her.

She busied herself with planning a few meals and coming up with a shopping list, then hung out with Lillian for a couple of hours. But sometime in the late afternoon, she knew she was going to have to face Mason and talk about what they’d done. Better when it was just the two of them than, say, over dinner with her aunt and kids.

To that end, she made her way to his office, knocking once on the half-open door. When he called, “Come in,” she entered, then carefully shut the door behind her to ensure privacy.

Only once that was done, she was alone in a room with a man who could reduce her to quivering with a few kisses. Memories of how he’d touched her, how he’d made her feel, made it impossible to think.

Her gaze locked with his. He looked as shell-shocked as she felt. He circled his desk, cupped her face and lightly kissed her.

“I’ve been thinking of you all day,” he murmured.

   “Me, too.”

“It’s made it difficult to work.”

“The battle will still be there tomorrow.”

He smiled and stepped back. “You’re here because we need to talk.”

   “Yes.”

“I agree.” He pointed to an aging tapestry-covered sofa pushed against the far wall. “I’m not sure what Leo was thinking when he chose that for his office, but it seems to get the job done.”

They sat down, angled toward each other. She took in the strong lines of his face and the slight smile that tugged at his lips. His eyes were bright with interest and affection.
