Brie realized what Sir said about having a fresh perspective applied to her own life as well. After suffering intense torture at Holloway’s hands, simple interactions had now taken on a sinister tone for her.
It seemed all her experiences were filtered through that lens now.
But that was not how she wanted to live.
Although she understood why she’d lost her perspective, flying above the Earth had reminded her just how beautiful life was.
Brie had the man of her dreams standing next to her, and two children she loved more than life itself. She also had a group of friends who had proven their loyalty and love for her countless times. And, if that weren’t enough, across the ocean, she had a sexy Russian making sure she was being kept safe.
Brie wanted to pursue her life without fear so she could fully embrace the future ahead. She didn’t want to hide from it.
Anything less would not be true to who she was as a person and a submissive.
Brie smiled and nodded to the pilot, grateful for the lesson he’d unknowingly taught her.
On the drive home Brie remained silent, reliving the incredible balloon ride.
“How are you faring, babygirl?”
She laughed self-consciously. “Well, other than thinking the poor man had a gun and was going to kill me, I’m doing great.”
Brie then looked at Sir in concern. “Do you think he knew?”
Sir chuckled. “No. He was so nervous about giving you his gift that he seemed oblivious to everything else.”
“Thank goodness! He was nothing but kind to us.”
“It’s evident you had a big impact on his life.”
Brie reached over to pat his arm. “It was a team effort, Sir. Without you, I would never have realized the joys of BDSM.”
He smiled, keeping his eyes on the road.
Brie heard his phone notify him that he had a text. Sir pulled it out from his pocket and asked, “Do you mind checking it?”
“My pleasure, Sir.” Clicking his messages, Brie noticed he had a new message from Marquis Gray. Her jaw dropped when she read the text.
Sir glanced at her. “Anything wrong?”
Brie stared at him, unable to hide her shock. “It’s from Marquis Gray.”
Frowning, Sir asked, “What does it say, babygirl?”
Brie read his text out loud, her stomach twisting in fear for Marquis.
I believe I may be responsible for Greg Holloway’s death.

Hey Everyone!
I’m Red Phoenix, an author who also happens to be a submissive in real life. I wrote the Brie’s Submission series because I wanted people everywhere to know just how much fun BDSM can be.
There is a huge cast of characters who are part of Brie’s journey. The further you read into the story the more you learn about each one. I hope you grow to love Brie and the gang as much as I do.
They’ve become like family.
When I’m not writing, you can find me online with readers.

Dedication
Forgive me, this is a long one!
(I was feeling all the feels while writing this story and am incredibly thankful)
I dedicate Whispered Promises to my family, my muses, and my friends!
This book has been an incredible journey. I have truly enjoyed it even though I was sweating it there for a bit. You see, my mother almost died while I was writing the book. I cannot express my fear or how hard it was to concentrate on anything. Biggest thanks to MrRed, who was my rock through everything.
Fortunately, my mom is slowly recovering, and I am overcome with relief. I understand that death comes to all of us, but it’s still not easy to face losing those you love.
I am incredibly lucky that my husband and my kids fully support my writing. My daughter Jessica came up with the title “Whispered Promises”—which I love—and my son Jon and his partner, Ben (whom I think of as a son) never stopped encouraging me during the writing process. They also came up with all kinds of fun ideas to include my fans while I was neck-deep in writing Whispered Promises.
I always have to give a shout-out to my muses. I still can’t believe these incredible people (and they most definitely feel like real people to me) not only share their stories with us, but they also continue to make me laugh, cry, swoon, and gasp every time I write. They are a beautiful part of my life. I am and will always be tremendously honored they chose me!
And a huge thanks to my friends who help make these stories possible. They bless my life in unbelievable ways every day:
Thank you, KH Koehler. I always enjoy your edits and appreciate that your intention is to perfect my words while protecting the story. It is an honor to work with you.
To Pippa Jayne, whom I absolutely adore! Thank you for being the voice for Brie in audio. Your love for the characters shines through in your work. How lucky am I that you have also become a dear friend throughout the years (8 so far – can you believe it?).
Brenda, Becki, Marilyn, and Kennia, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your dedication to the story. You are not only my betas, but my cherished friends. I am so very grateful for you.
Anthony, your support changed the course of my career and allowed me to continue writing the stories I love. Your knowledge, patience, and kindness have made such a huge difference in my life. Thank you for giving me the power to do what I love for many years to come.
