How The Heart Breaks(28)
Author: Stacey Marie Brown

“I was just wondering if… we could go together.”

Oh. Shit.

“Ummm.” Panic danced in my chest, my eyes searching for an escape route. He was everything I should want. Proper age, handsome, nice, steady, and would treat me well. Daniel was a catch. He was what I needed to go for. Be someone I could have a future with. I knew he liked me.

The knot in my belly wouldn’t go away, but I forced myself to nod and smile. “Sure.” I had to get my mind off Mason. To date men around my age. Maybe if I gave Daniel a chance, he would be that guy.

With Ben and me, it hadn’t been love at first sight either.

“Great.” A huge smile took over Daniel’s face. “I will pick you up around seven tomorrow night?” He got up from his chair.

“Sounds good.” My voice sounded forced, making me feel worse because he seemed so excited.

He gave me a wave before heading back out, which told me he purposely came in here to ask me out.

Shit.

An agitated feeling climbed up and down my limbs, causing me to get up and move around. I shouldn’t feel this much dread about going on a date, right?

I stared at the clock, wanting so badly to leave, knowing I had three hours left. This place felt like a cage I was trapped in.

I expected relief when I pulled my car into my garage, the long day finally over, but I didn’t. It was just another cage I would pace, not finding what I was searching for anywhere I went.

Restless and prowling.

My body was still angry at me, and my mind was a confused, chaotic mess.

Grabbing my bag, I climbed out of my car, slowly making my way to my back door before I closed the garage. I didn’t really want to go inside; the feel of him was everywhere in my house.

My gaze slid to my shiny new washer and dryer, looking all perky and unbreakable.

He was everywhere out here too.

The sound of footsteps hit the pavement of my driveway stopping me in my tracks. I didn’t need to look to see who was here. I knew. The air shifted around me, my spine tingling with awareness, pulling me up straight. I felt him surround me, his presence taking over, demanding me to take notice.

I didn’t move, didn’t turn around. Afraid if I did, I would fail… fail at being strong.

At denying him.

“Mason…” My warning came out feeble and cracked, pleading he would walk away and do what I had no strength to do. He sensed my weakness, smelling blood in the water. Worn from my own internal struggle, I was vulnerable against his force. I heard his shoes hit the cement, moving toward me, taking no pity on me. “Please…” I uttered, beseeching any tiny mercy he might have.

He had none.

His body moved up behind me. Similar to an electrical fence I had once touched as a child, the buzzing of his skin, the heat of him, crackled against me, propelling my lungs to gasp for air.

His hands skimmed up the arms of my jacket around my neck to the zipper. His fingers curled around, slowly unzipping it, slipping it off my shoulders and dropping it to the ground.

“Don’t,” I uttered so weakly it held no meaning.

“You want me to stop?” He brushed my hair to the side, his mouth grazing the curve of my neck, a palm sliding under my scrub top, cupping my breast over my bra, his thumb pressing against my heart like he wanted to feel it pound under his hold, to notice the shallowness of my breathing. “Tell me what you want.” His thumb glided lower, rolling over my nipple. My teeth bit into my lip, trying to control my response, wetness already seeping from me. His touch felt unbelievable, as if I had been waiting for it for so long.

“Tell me, Emery.” His hands trailed down. They were rough and calloused and sparked electricity through me as he moved down, skating under my pants. His fingers glided over my underwear, rubbing my pussy.

A noise came out of me, sounding feral. “Mason.” My back bowed into him.

“Tell me what you want?” He stroked harder.

“You.”

Mason went still behind me, his ribs punching into my spine. A grunt snarled from him, and in a blink, he flipped me around. His eyes were so dark I couldn’t even see his pupils, his jaw set like he was coming for his prey. A hand wrapped around my neck, his body slamming me back into the washer, his frame crushing me, jolting my nerves with desire.

His mouth came down on mine with ferocity. His kiss claimed and owned. Any rebuttal I had snapped, making me lose control. It crushed logic. It tore through doubt. There was no right or wrong. He was the relief I had been needing. I’d been aching for.

His breath heavy, he ripped my top over my head, unlatching my bra and tossing the items to the ground. The cold air from the open garage hardened my tender nipples, curving me into him. His teeth dragged down my neck before he took my breast into his mouth, sucking and flicking my nipple with his tongue.

A cry ripped up my lungs, an instant response to the hunger driving through me, feeling every inch of him. Hard and hot, flaring desire I had never felt before.

Pushing firmer into me, a slight moan parted my lips. His thumb pressed down a little harder on my neck, making me feel everything with greater intensity. “Tell me you don’t feel this and you don’t think about me. Tell me you haven’t gotten yourself off to thoughts of me. That you haven’t imagined how I’d feel sinking deep inside you?”

A throaty groan was the only thing that came out, his fingers tightening just enough to send electricity straight to my core. My chest heaved as desire flooded through me, soaking my underwear, my hips widening, wanting nothing more than him to do that very thing. My brain no longer cared about consequences or what was right and wrong.

“Tell me you haven’t fantasized about my tongue fucking your pussy?”

Sucking in, heat spread through me again. Ben was never really a “dirty talker” in bed, but it fit Mason. And totally turned me on.

“Yes,” I almost snarled. “All the fucking time. Every night after you leave.”

With a grunt, he tugged off my pants and underwear, tossing me up on the washer. The cold metal sizzled against my hot skin. Just his touch had me on fire. I needed him so badly that I was past foreplay.

It was dark in my garage, but anyone walking by with their dog could see and hear us. Yet I didn’t care enough to close it. The danger only heightened the passion.

“Mason.” I could hear the begging in my voice.

He spread me open, naked while he was still fully clothed, going down on his knees, his tongue trailing down my stomach, nipping at my inner thigh.

A loud moan tipped my head back, my nails raking through his hair. “Fuck, Emery.” He growled, his words vibrating against my folds, digging my nails deep into him.

His tongue sliced through me, and I lost all thoughts, a deep rumble coming from him. “I’ve wanted this pussy for so long.” He pulled my legs over his shoulder, tipping me back, getting his mouth deeper into me. “Fuck, you taste amazing.” His tongue licked further. A scream tore from me, my hips rocking against his mouth. I lost all sense. I only felt, as though I were tripping on a drug, all I could do was let myself go. He slipped two fingers inside me, slowly pumping them as his tongue worked my core.

This had been good before, but Mason took it to another level. To the point I almost couldn’t handle it. A wild, raw noise came out of me. He seized my hips, pulling me hard to him as he sucked and licked me with brutal intensity, hitching my body higher and higher.
