Author: Alisha Rai

He tugged harder on her hair on a down stroke and she gave a muffled yelp. He released her immediately. “I’m so sorry.”

She came up for air and licked him, gazing up at him from under her lashes. “I don’t mind a little hair pulling, actually.”

His nostrils flared. “Oh yeah?”

Mira formed an O with her finger and thumb and slid it up and down his slick cock. She tightened her grip, until his eyes rolled back, and then sucked the very tip quick and hard. “Yeah,” she breathed on him.

He gave a moan and pulled her up and away. She’d never thought of herself as a small girl, but he made her feel delicate.

His kiss this time was wild and open-mouthed. He walked her backward to the bed. The room spun as he twirled her around and pushed her down to the mattress, her legs hanging off the bed. She rose up on her elbows, but he kept her pinned with a hand between her shoulder blades. “Finally,” he breathed, and ran his other palm over her buttocks. “I’ve been dying to see this.”

She almost rose and demanded he turn around, but she wanted something else more than the chance to gaze at his butt. “We don’t have any protection,” she said, and he squeezed a cheek.

“Already ahead of you. Got some at the store.” He left her for a second, then came back. There was a rip of cardboard and foil, and then the rest of the box landed on the bed, in her line of vision.

He really had gone power shopping for all their essentials.

She wanted to make a joke about optimism, but his thick thigh came between hers, forcing her legs open.

The tip of his penis slid inside her, barely an inch or so. “Good?”

“Yes.” She rocked back on him, managing to take another inch. It wasn’t nearly enough. “Please.”

“Shh, shh, shh,” he crooned, and stroked her ass. “Be a good girl, and let me give it to you.”

Mira shuddered, her body growing slicker. She pressed back again and was rewarded with a slap on her butt. “Harder,” she whimpered. “And call me a good girl again.”

She could tell he was smiling when he responded. He lowered his body over hers, until his heat covered her, inside and out. “You’re such a good girl, Mira,” he said, directly into her ear. His breath tickled the sensitive skin, causing goose bumps to break out over her arms. “You’re going to listen to me, aren’t you?”

She tried to move, but couldn’t. His hips had her pinned. She nodded. “Please, fuck—” She nearly swallowed her tongue as he seated himself all the way. “Me,” she moaned.

Lawyer in the streets, criminal in the sheets.

He echoed her cry of pleasure, and then his hips picked up speed, pistoning back and forth. The rough linens abraded her nipples as he did exactly as she’d pleaded and fucked her. He moved his grip to her hips, using it to serve her body up to his again and again. Her fingers and toes curled as the pleasure built, the tension growing tighter and tighter, until it released in a sharp burst.

The pillows muffled her cries as she came. He lowered his body, his sweat layering over hers. He thrust deep one last time. His groan was rough and long as his body spasmed over hers in pleasure.

He caught his weight on his arms, and their breath filled the silence in the room. Her body felt like liquefied bone and flesh.

She murmured when he pulled out of her, but she had the presence of mind to raise up on wobbly arms. “Steady there,” he cautioned.

“Be right back,” she muttered, and staggered to the bathroom.

Once she’d done her business and washed her hands, she came back out to find Naveen reclining on the bed. His body was long and sinewy, and so pretty. Fuck that Brad guy at Sunil’s club, honestly. This man was perfect in every way.

He lifted the comforter and she clambered in with him. She nestled on top of him and rested her head in the hollow of his throat like she belonged there.

“I really need to know something,” he said softly.

She looked up at him from under her lashes. “Yes?”

“Were you satisfied with that level of fucking?”

Her laugh was startled out of her, and though it wasn’t even that funny, it turned into a peal of chuckles. He joined her in a second. She didn’t know what they were laughing at; the joy of being alive, perhaps.

When their giggles subsided, Mira nuzzled in deeper. This warmth and security was a problem. She couldn’t rely on it, and she knew that, but she waved the concern away in her hazy brain.

“Mira.”

There were questions in his voice, ones she wasn’t prepared to entertain or answer. “Can we talk tomorrow? Can we please just rest, for a few hours?”

He paused. “Yes.” He pulled her close and she snuggled in, her lids growing heavy. Tomorrow, she’d deal with the fallout from this decision and figure out what they were going to do about everything. Tonight, she’d sleep, with her body and mind exhausted, and her arms full.

Chapter Sixteen

Mira was a morning person, and apparently the skill of waking at dawn carried over whether or not she was on the run for her life. Her eyes popped open, and she stared at the ceiling, tiny fingers of brighter blue breaking through the motel room’s dingy curtains.

She turned her head and looked at Naveen. His lashes were long, resting against his cheeks. His full lips were slightly parted, his breath puffing against her arm.

Her heartbeat accelerated, but oddly, her chest wasn’t tight with panic, like the last time she’d woken up with Naveen. She was gentle as she extracted herself from his arms. Mira was a bit sweaty from the all-night cuddle session, but she didn’t mind all that much.

You’re in big trouble.

Mira crept across the carpet and picked up the debris she’d made of the glasses the night before. She still had no idea what had come over her, smashing the damn things, but there was no denying that it had made her feel great. Better than her car screams. Like a catharsis for all the pent-up feelings she didn’t normally get to express to anyone.

And then Naveen had told her those feelings were okay. That she was right.

She carefully tossed the glass in the trash can, making sure no shards were left in the carpet. She didn’t want someone else to have to clean up her mess. Though the glasses had clearly been from the dollar store, she pulled a twenty from their stash of cash and went and placed it on the vanity as reimbursement.

After she got dressed, she stood for a moment, wondering what to do. She wished she could call Christine for her wisdom, but she didn’t have her friend’s number memorized. She could email her, but the last thing she wanted to do was freak her best friend out when she was oceans away. As it was, Christine had probably grown a little worried when Mira didn’t answer her call last night for clothes-shopping.

Her phone vibrated on the nightstand where she’d placed it the night before, and she jumped. She grabbed it, wondering if she’d somehow summoned Christine. The No Caller ID on the screen made her heart seize up.

It’s probably not the bad guys.

Mira glanced at Naveen, who was sleeping soundly. She escaped to the bathroom. “Hello?” she half whispered.

“Mira, it’s me.”

She lifted an eyebrow at the terse words. “Emi?”
