Falcon (Deathstalkers MC #2)(35)
Author: Elizabeth Knox

Moneybags, Hawk, and Merlin are already down here. So, I sent a text to the group chat for the club, so anyone else who could be here is. The only exceptions are Mace and Snowden, since they’re both prospecting for the club, and then Bone and Rajah. Once Mace and Snowden are patched in, they’ll be able to be with the rest of us in situations like this. I know the two of them get frustrated, especially since they aren’t invited to church, but there’s a reason I do things the way I do. I’ve seen far too many rats hidden within the club to blindly trust anyone. So, they’ll serve their time just like the rest of us have.

Geno’s hanging by heavy chains on a support beam in the middle of the pit. There’s a singular garage light hanging over him, and my brothers have already gone to town on him quite a bit. He has swelling underneath his eye, there are cut marks along his arms, and he has a busted lip. It’s nothing like what’s about to happen to him, though.

“I’m surprised you didn’t hand me over to the cops like your boys did with Sandman and Coe. Should’ve known you all are a bunch of pussies,” Geno spits at my feet, and I don’t give him the luxury of getting a rise out of me.

“It’s interesting how you choose to look at things. I sacrificed two of your men so I could be the one to bring you to an end. And you seem to think that makes me a pussy? It doesn’t. It makes me a leader who calculates what’s most important and makes sacrifices if needed. Did I want your boys to be here to see you suffer slowly? Yeah, I did, but unfortunately, I couldn’t have my cake and eat it too.”

“All you’re doin’ is making a terrible excuse for your bad planning. You’re one pathetic excuse of a president, you know that?”

“From where I’m standing, you don’t have the right to be talking,” As soon as I finish speaking, I head over to the shelf and pick up my blowtorch. We’ve used this on enemies for a handful of occasions, but I’ll enjoy using it on Geno the most.

I turn the blow torch on, and once the red mixed with orange flames come out from the device, I inch it closer to his skin. He keeps his eyes right on me and doesn’t act like he’s scared in the least bit . . . but I know he is. He has to be. You can’t really be alive if you don’t fear death or the pain that life can bring you, and I plan on bringing him a world full of pain.

I bring the flame right against his skin, and he jolts against it, trying to get away from it. I don’t blame him. I’d be doing the same fucking thing . . . but the more he struggles, the closer to his skin I bring the blow torch.

Geno screams, squealing like a pig, actually, and from the corner of my eye, I spot Hawk walking behind him with a machete. Hawk strikes against his back over and over again, and the confused expression on Geno’s face makes this worth my while. He knew I was here, but he never thought for a second that someone else in my club would start on him while I was in the middle of torturing him.

One by one, all of my brothers continue taking turns. First, it’s Hawk, then Vader, and then we go down the line. After a point, I’m sure the flame has hit every piece of skin on Geno’s body, but there’s one part in particular that I want to fry—his genitals.

I bring the blow torch lower and keep it right where I want it to be. He screams and thrashes, but I don’t move it one bit. I count in my head until I reach one hundred and twenty seconds, and then I remove it. I aim my gun at the center of his abdomen and fire, shooting without a second thought.

Hawk releases the chains holding Geno up, and Geno falls like a dead weight on the cement floor.

He’s silent for a while, but I should know better than for him to give up so easily. He loves to talk and loves to egg people on whenever he can.

“There are more of us than any of you know. I hope you realize that with my death, there will be no solitude. There will only be more chaos, and it will be ten times worse than it has been.” Geno spits blood out between his words, and it’s obvious the man is struggling to stay alive as blood oozes from the gunshot wound in his abdomen.

I’m not one for open-ended threats. “I don’t care if what you’re saying is true. Whoever comes, I will deal with them. And if more come after that, I will put them in the ground the same way I’m putting you in it.” What Geno doesn’t know is how prepared I am to take care of my own. I’ll do whatever it takes, no matter the cost.

The only thing that’s important to me is keeping my brothers, their families, and my own family alive. My own family now consists of Hermoine, in addition to my mother.

I aim my gun at Geno’s chest because I want his death to be painful. We’ve tortured him enough, and I know every single thing we’ve done has been filled with the most pain imaginable. But, his death will keep with the same theme.

I pull the trigger without one ounce of hesitation. As his chest jolts back from the impact of the bullet, a sense of relief washes over me. Though, I have a deep feeling in the pit of my stomach that it’ll be short-lived.

I want to hope and pray that Geno is bluffing. That he’s said whatever he can to try to give him more time on this Earth, but the cruel reality is that he probably does have allies or others within his club that I haven’t seen yet.

Regardless, I’ll have to do some calling around to other presidents within my allies’ clubs. I’m certain someone will know something. When push comes to shove, we’ll deal with it however we need to, but most importantly . . . we’ll deal with it together.

I’ll leave my brothers to deal with Geno’s body because I have a woman in the club who needs me by her side, now more than ever.
