Fury of Frustration(49)
Author: Coreene Callahan

His phone chirped again. With a yank, he pulled the stupid thing out the back pocket of his Levi’s.

The notification flashed on screen.

A muscle twitched along his jaw. A new message from some online gaming site, email address attached. His eyes narrowed as his temper flared. Bloody hell, whoever sent it was tenacious, the kind of persistent Levin didn’t like unless it came from him.

Gaze glued to the screen, he tapped here and there, engaging his firewall, setting up a covert search to track the bastard. Such a waste of time, but as much as he hated to admit it, he’d let it go on too long. He needed to stop ignoring the arsehole and investigate. Instinct warned him the hacker wasn’t human. The language he used in the message gave him away. Which meant Levin must figure out what the male wanted and dissuade him of the notion.

Violently, if necessary.

He hoped the bastard went that way. Toying with the male clogging up his inbox would be satisfying, a well-timed diversion after the clusterfuck with the Danish pack over Edinburgh. Grizgunn, along with the warriors he commanded, had gotten away, gone underground and stayed there until dawn hit the horizon, forcing Levin and his packmates out of the sky. An opportunity lost. A rage-inducing, pansy-ass ploy. The Danes were skilled at hiding, great at turning tail and running, not so hot at fighting to the finish. So aye, he might as well indulge in a distraction. He deserved a bit of fun for his troubles.

Cracking his knuckles, Levin stared at the gleaming bar top. A plan began to form. Nothing complicated, pretty basic stuff in the covert world in which he operated. The email junkie had earned a lesson. A brutal one. Something he planned to deliver before flying in to deal the deathblow.

An ice dragon’s dream. Nothing but fun, fun, fun.

Cyprus would no doubt frown on the festivities, reprimand him for his methods, but…whatever. His commander would come around and lighten up in the end.

Shoving his phone back into his pocket, Levin grabbed a wet rag and got back to work, getting ready to open the tavern, looking forward to the night he sank his claws deep, ripped the bastard’s lungs from his chest and listened to him squeal.
