It'll Be An Adventure (Masters of the Shadowlands #15)(75)
Author: Cherise Sinclair

Kim pointed to the taller woman with sun-streaked brown hair and golden-brown eyes. “That’s Andrea. Cullen is her Dom. He takes over bartending from Josie sometimes.”

Cullen? “Is he as big as Saxon with a little bit of an Irish accent?” Murphy half-smiled. “He was awfully willing to hook me up with a Dom.”

“That helpfulness sounds like my Sir, sí.” Andrea had a light Spanish accent and a beautiful smile.

The shorter woman had long brunette hair and dancing eyes. “I’m Sally. Vance and Galen are my Doms.”

“I don’t think I’ve met them. But…two Doms?” Murphy shook her head, then frowned at Uzuri. “You have two as well. Are multiple men to one woman common?”

Uzuri smiled. “Actually, no. Sally and I were just lucky—or unlucky depending on how you feel about it.”

“I’m saying unlucky. One Master giving orders is more than enough. Two? Dios.” Andrea rolled her eyes.

“Not only too many orders, but just imagine keeping up with the…needs?” Gabi snickered. “Imagine two guys with morning chubbies poking at you.”

Everyone on the patio broke up laughing.

“Hey, I also have four hands to serve my needs.” Sally smirked.

“And two mouths.” Uzuri high-fived Sally.

Josie’s eyes widened. “Huh. They might have a point.”

Murphy stared at her fellow author in disbelief. “Have you considered how impossible it would be to write that kind of sex scene? All those hands—and legs? I have enough trouble keeping track of one-on-one.”

“Writing a threesome? Oh my god.” Josie took a step back. “What a horrifying thought.”

The women laughed, and Sally was snickering so hard she choked.

“Trust an author to see it from a whole new perspective.” Kim hooked an arm in Murphy’s. “You need a drink to get you past the trauma.”

Josie rolled her eyes. “I need one too. Now.”

As the sun went down and the evening darkened into night, Murphy’s sides started hurting from laughter. The submissives had absolutely no filters, especially after a couple of drinks. Even if Andrea and Sally had alcohol-free drinks, they were just as raunchy as the others.

After Murphy started to read the first scene in the BDSM club from her book, Sally halted her after only a few sentences of dialogue. “You, Ms. Author, aren’t doing your writing justice.”

“Agreed,” Jessica said. “The writing is great, but you’re reading it kind of flat.”

“They’re right, Murphy. And it’s not your fault.” Josie shook her head. “I think it’s a cultural thing; we females are supposed to be all modest and humble. It makes it difficult to read our own writing aloud.”

“Ah, that makes sense.” Gabi nodded. “We can fix that. Uzuri, you’re a fantastic reader, according to Beth’s kids. Go for it.”

With a shy smile, Uzuri took the manuscript.

Murphy sat beside Josie and listened.

And Uzuri was…amazing, showing all of Lord Beaumont’s dry humor and the fear in Dinah’s thoughts. She gave each character a unique voice, even adding British accents.

To Murphy’s delight, everyone was leaning forward, captivated. The sense of gratification was heady. I wrote this.

A few minutes later, Uzuri reached the bottom of the last page and frowned. “Where’s the next page?”

“Um, that’s it,” Murphy said.

“What? You can’t just leave it like this. That Ludlow guy is going to kill her!” Zuri’s voice rose to a screech.

Murphy almost cringed at the grumbling around her. “I…I didn’t bring more.”

“Down, my children.” Gabi was laughing. “Murphy only wanted us to make sure she got the BDSM stuff correct. She didn’t ask for help in fixing the murder.”

“Murder?” Andrea gasped. “He’s for real going to kill Dinah? Noooo.”

Protests came from every woman there.

“Thanks, Gabi,” Murphy muttered, making the redhead laugh harder. “The hero and heroine won’t get killed off. People who read the series would get upset.”

“Oh, right.” Andrea gave her a sheepish smile. “I got caught up in the story. Sorry.”

“No, no, you all made my day. As an author, I live for that kind of reaction—thank you.”

Off to the right, Josie was nodding. “Oh yeah.”

“So what did I get wrong?” Murphy asked. “Or is there anything I should add to make it more realistic?”

Through another round of drinks, the women noted a couple of errors, a few better ways to describe the equipment—and then somehow got into describing sexual disasters. Weird disasters. Way more than the act of farting during sex.

“Oh, oh, I have one.” Sally waved her hand like a first grader in school. “It was shower sex, and Vance went down on me, and he’s like really good at it”—she widened her eyes—“and I was coming so hard that I lost my balance and grabbed the faucet.”

“Uh-oh,” Uzuri muttered.

“Exactly! Talk about freezing cold water, and he shouted, and I screamed bloody murder. Galen charges in like some stupid-ass hero and then didn’t even help. He just stands there, laughing his ass off, and Vance starts laughing too.” Sally pouted. “So much for more second-breakfast-sex.”

Murphy snorted at the reference to Hobbits and their second breakfasts.

“You, my girl, need a Master who never loses his focus,” Andrea said. “Like, mi Señor. On our last vacation, we’d had a few drinks, and he was very enthusiastic…and he’s a rather big man.”

Jessica rolled her eyes. “Girl, that’s like saying King Kong is a bit larger than a chimpanzee.”

A choking sound came from Josie.

Andrea grinned. “The bed, it isn’t up for his, um, vigor, and suddenly it falls off the headboard and tilts, and we roll off, right onto the floor. Mi Señor, though, doesn’t miss a beat but laughs and keeps going.”

Somehow, Murphy could see Master Cullen being totally unfazed by the minor problem of landing on the floor. She pursed her lips and said solemnly, “It’s good that there weren’t three of you. Especially with…you know, two dicks in various places.”
