Deserving Reese (The Refuge #3)(50)
Author: Susan Stoker

No, he fucking loved it.

“Holy crap,” Reese muttered under him. “I think you killed me.”

“But what a way to go, huh?” he asked, feeling off-kilter himself.

“Are you going to move?”

“Nope.”

“I can’t breathe all that well.”

That got him moving. But Spike still didn’t pull out. He simply rolled, holding her ass to keep her in place until she was on top of him.

“Mmmmm,” she murmured, snuggling into him and burying her nose in the crook of his neck.

Spike’s arms tightened around her, and he sighed in contentment.

“That was…”

“Stupendous. Earth-shattering. Amazing. Fantabulous. Fucking awesome,” Spike finished for her.

She chuckled, and once again Spike felt it from the inside out. Unfortunately, her muscles tightening to laugh squeezed his now limp cock out of her body.

“Shoot,” she said with a frown.

Now that his cock had been evicted, Spike rolled until Reese was under him again. He framed her face with his hands and kissed her. Long, slow, and deep, showing her without words how much their lovemaking meant to him.

When he was done, he pulled back and began to inch down her body.

“Gus? What are you doing?”

“I wanna see.”

“See what?”

“Your cunt filled with my come. And I want to make sure I didn’t hurt you.”

“You didn’t. Gus, seriously, get back up here,” she said, trying to physically pull him back up her body, but he refused to budge.

He lay between her legs and spread them so he could see her pussy. The sight that greeted his gaze made the caveman inside him stand up and beat his chest. Her cunt was swollen and a little red. But it was his semen, slowly leaking out of her channel, that had him utterly enthralled.

Reese flopped her head back down on the bed as if resigned.

Using a finger, Spike ran it up her folds, catching their juices before easing his finger inside her body.

She moaned a little. “Sore,” she said softly.

Spike was sorry for that, but he didn’t regret what they’d done for a second. It was hard to believe something so small could accommodate his cock. Intellectually, he knew that women’s bodies were born to stretch. Hell, they had to in order to give birth. But seeing her tiny opening like this, up close and personal, had him in awe of Mother Nature.

After a moment, Reese said his name again. This time he looked up at her face and saw her cheeks were pink with what had to be embarrassment. He wanted to tell her she had nothing to be uncomfortable about, that he was going to know her body better than she knew it herself after a while, but instead, he simply moved back up her body until she was once more lying in his arms.

She sighed.

“I hope that was a happy sigh,” he said.

“It was,” she agreed.

They lay there, arms and legs entwined, for several long minutes…before Spike’s phone began to ring on the nightstand where he’d put it earlier.

“No. Just no,” he muttered.

Reese giggled against him.

He ignored the phone. Until it started ringing again.

“For fuck’s sake!” he exclaimed, rolling over to grab it. “What?”

“Sorry to interrupt. It’s Tex.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Maybe nothing. I just spoke to Woody, thought you’d want to know what I’ve been able to find out, as well. There’s been some movement with the cartel, but nothing about Kansas City or The Refuge.”

“What do you mean by ‘movement’?” Spike asked, the remnants of his warm and fuzzy feelings from moments ago fading.

“It sounds like they’re sending some guys to the Mexican border.”

“I don’t understand,” Spike said. “Does that mean they’re going to cross illegally to try to find Isabella or Woody?”

“Not necessarily. They frequently send people across. Both to get their members into the country—so they can intimidate and threaten those who work for them in the States—and back out of the country. All illegally, of course.”

“So what are you saying?” Spike asked, wishing he was still lying there enjoying the aftermath of making love with Reese.

“I’m saying I think their current movement likely has nothing to do with any of you. After Woody and Isabella get married this weekend, they can go home to Missouri, and you and Reese can make plans for your own futures there in New Mexico.”

“Wait—how’d you know she was staying?” Spike asked.

Tex chuckled. “I have my ways. And tell her good job on negotiating that salary during her interview…they probably would’ve gone ten thousand higher, but she was smart not to settle for their first offer.”

“You are a spooky son of a bitch,” Spike told him with a shake of his head.

“You know, I’m still waiting for someone to name their firstborn after me. I think Tex has a nice ring to it, don’t you?”

Spike burst out laughing. “No.”

Tex chuckled. “It was worth a try. Happy for you, Spike.”

Warmth spread through him. He looked down to see Reese’s eyes glued on his face as her fingers absently ran over the various scars he had on his chest from an explosion he’d been caught in, when shrapnel had torn him up.

“Thanks,” he said softly. “Any word on the person who saved Jas?” he asked.

He heard Tex sigh in frustration. “No. But I’m gonna figure out who it was eventually—and how he managed to send that untraceable text to Tonka, letting him know which bunker Jasna was in.”

Spike had no doubt the incredibly talented computer genius would do just that.

“Have a good time at the wedding. I’ll be in touch,” Tex said, then disconnected without another word.

Spike clicked off the phone and threw it back onto the table before settling down with Reese in his arms.

“Everything okay?” she asked.

“Yeah. That was Tex.”

“I gathered.”

He proceeded to tell her what Tex had said, and she sighed happily. “I’m so relieved. The thought of someone coming after Woody or Isabella here in the States is literally my worst nightmare come true. I’ve always been afraid someone from one of your missions would come after you when you came home. I know it’s irrational, but I couldn’t help it.”

It wasn’t as irrational as she might think. The US had enemies all over the world, and none of them were happy when special forces came in and fucked up their plans. But after being out for five years, Spike had finally stopped looking over his shoulder all the time, though he was still cautious.

He was just about ready to start round two—he definitely wanted to go down on Reese, and he’d promised to show her how he’d touched himself while thinking about her—when her phone rang from somewhere in her clothes on the floor.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Spike bitched.

Reese giggled.

“I swear it’s a conspiracy. Keep Spike and Reese from making love,” he complained.

“Hey, we managed to sneak it in this time,” she said as she reached across him, leaning over the side of the bed to grab her phone from the floor.
