Tangled With You(33)
Author: J. Kenner

And then, without another word, he pulled Ollie close and claimed his mouth with his own. A long, slow kiss full of promise and apology, love and heat. Desire and respect. A kiss that melted all of Ollie’s fears and fired all of his dreams.

“Wow,” said Ollie when Trevor finally broke the kiss.

“You’re mine,” Trevor said firmly, those dark eyes blazing with passion. “Dammit, Ollie, you’re mine.”

Ollie grinned, happier than he could ever remember being. “Yeah,” he said. “Just so long as you know that you’re mine, too.”

Epilogue

Ollie watched as Courtney held a drink in her hand, laughing with Leah, Mario, Nikki, and Bree. They were in Malibu at Damien and Nikki’s house, and the whole team from the SSA was there, along with the FBI team under Horowitz, and a half-dozen of Courtney’s friends who’d been shocked when they’d heard about the kidnapping a week ago in the local paper and on social media.

Behind him, Trevor slid his arms around Ollie’s waist, then brushed a soft kiss over his ear.

“How’s she doing?”

“Good,” Ollie said. “She’s already started with a counselor, and she tells me the nightmares have faded. I think moving helped a lot.” He twisted in Trevor’s arms so that he could face him. “And she tells me that Leah is a great roommate.”

“She is,” Trevor said, then released him long enough to spin Ollie around so that they were face to face. “You’re better. Except when you’re hogging the covers.”

“I so do not do that,” Ollie protested. “You’re always yanking at them. I have to yank back.”

“Uh-huh.”

Ollie fought to hide his grin. Trevor had moved in with him the day after it all went down, and Ollie couldn’t remember a time in his life when he felt so content.

“You two look cozy,” Jamie said, sliding an arm around Ollie’s waist and giving him a hip-bump. Brax and Ryan were with her, deep in a discussion about gun trafficking.

“New case?” Ollie asked.

“New movie,” Brax said. “Bullshit ending.”

Trevor laughed. “They can’t all be as happy as ours.”

“True that. How’s the house renovation going?”

“Fast,” Ollie said, then lowered his voice conspiratorially. “This guy thinks I asked him to move in because I love him. Really, I just love the way he works a nail gun and sander.”

“You are so going to pay for that,” Trevor said, his eyes dancing with mischief.

“What’s he paying for?” Nikki asked, sliding in and taking one of Ollie’s hands.

“Suggesting that he only wants me for my renovation skills.”

Nikki waved the words away. “Oh, just own it,” she said airily. “I only want Damien for his money. And, you know, the sex.”

“I heard that,” Damien said, stepping up to join them. “I think I’m offended. I always assumed the sex came before the money.” He took Nikki’s hands and pulled her close.

She glanced over her shoulder and winked at the group. “It does, but I can’t tell him that. Ego,” she mouthed, making them all laugh, then she squealed as Damien spun her around, only to silence her with a long, slow kiss.

“They make almost as good a couple as us,” Trevor said.

“Almost,” Ollie agreed, then drew Trevor close for a long, slow kiss of their own.

“I love you,” Trevor said, when they came up for air.

“I know. I love you, too.” He realized he was grinning like a fiend. But why not? He had everything to smile about. Courtney was safe. Trevor had moved in. And he was desperately, hopelessly in love with his best friend.

As far as he was concerned, the world was pretty much perfect, and he told Trevor as much before kissing him again, this time wild and hot and full of promise for how they’d spend the afternoon once they were back at the house and blissfully alone.

When they finally broke apart—a little dizzy, a lot happy— Brax had moved a few feet away and was staring at his phone, his face awash in something that looked to Ollie like a combination of shock and horror.

“Brax? What is it?”

“A text from Sabrina’s sister,” he said, referring to his girlfriend who’d been murdered in front of him. He looked up at Ollie, his expression more than a little lost. “I didn’t even know she had a sister. But she says she knows who killed Sabrina, and she needs my help to bring them down.”
