Peaches and Cream(19)
Author: Georgia Beers

Sabrina whimpered, and Adley felt hands in her hair, and she sank into the warm wetness of this woman, taking her time in the dark, stroking, exploring, pressing harder then easing up, and in no time at all, Sabrina’s hips rose up off the bed, her fingers tightening in Adley’s hair. Ragged breaths and her name on a moan of pleasure. Adley held on to Sabrina’s hips, stopped moving her tongue but kept her mouth pressed against her until Sabrina slowly came down.

“Oh my God,” Sabrina whispered as Adley laid her cheek against Sabrina’s thigh.

She watched as Sabrina’s chest moved up and down, up and down, and she gathered herself, settled.

“Oh my God,” she said again, then reached down until her fingers were under Adley’s chin, and she pulled a little, a clear sign she wanted Adley up where she could see her.

Adley crawled up her body, kissing various parts as she went, lingering on a nipple that she flicked with her tongue, then bit gently. The soft gasp Sabrina made almost had her ready to go again, but the clock on the nightstand caught her eye, and she knew she needed to get at least some rest.

“Wasn’t I sleeping about five minutes ago?” Sabrina asked as she kissed Adley’s mouth.

“You were. I’m sorry. You were just so gorgeous, and I couldn’t help myself.” She felt slightly sheepish, but not really all that sorry.

“Please.” Sabrina touched her fingertips to Adley’s lips. “Don’t ever apologize for that.” She gave her entire body a little shake. “That was incredible. Something about it being unexpected, I think.”

Adley lay down against her, and this time it was she who tucked her head under Sabrina’s chin, the flat of her palm sliding across her stomach. “You’re so fucking beautiful,” she whispered, feeling sleep finally settling over her.

The last thing she remembered was a warm, gentle kiss being pressed to her forehead.

Chapter Eight

   It was Monday morning.

That was the first bit of bad news Sabrina realized as she opened her eyes three minutes before the alarm on her phone was set to wake her. She quickly turned it off because Adley was curled up next to her and wound around her like some kind of vine, legs tangled with hers, arms around her, dark hair everywhere.

This is the best way to wake up.

Where had that thought come from? The last couple of times she’d woken up with somebody else in her bed, her first thought had been How do I get them to leave without being an asshole?

She didn’t think that about Adley. In fact, she toyed with calling in sick. Or at least late. Because she wanted nothing more than to curl up with Adley and go back to sleep. Then make love to her when they finally woke again. Then cook her breakfast and maybe make out with her in the kitchen.

   What was happening here?

She knew what was happening here. Of course she did. But that’s not how it was supposed to go. This was supposed to be physical and that was it. No ties. No attachments. Just…release. Plain and simple, and Adley seemed to get that as well. So what was all this business about wanting to play hooky and spend the morning with her?

Okay. Yeah. Time to get up. The only way this was going to stay what she’d intended it to be was if she made it stay that way. She slid herself out from under Adley—no easy feat—intending to head for the shower. But she couldn’t get her feet to move, so she stood there next to the bed and watched Adley sleep for another moment or two. With a final sigh, she headed into the bathroom.

Her eyes were closed and she was lathering up her hair when she felt a change in the air. And then hands slid around her from behind, caressed her stomach, and moved up until they cupped her breasts. And then her back was against Adley’s front.

“Good morning,” Adley said, her voice still husky with sleep. “Thought you might like a little help washing.”

She turned in Adley’s arms. “I’d love a little help.”

Adley’s mouth crushed to hers and Sabrina’s back hit the cool tile of the wall and fingers were between her legs and they stayed in that shower until they ran out the hot water.

“I think every day should start with an orgasm, don’t you?” Adley said as they were drying off.

“People would certainly be happier.” She kissed Adley’s cheek. “Coffee?”

   “God, yes.”

The morning routine with Adley was shockingly easy, and Sabrina didn’t quite understand it. Like, how? How was she not freaking out right now with this stranger in her space? Why wasn’t she ushering Adley out the door with a travel mug of coffee and a quick kiss? Why was it that, when Bryce sent her a text with notes for the morning’s meeting at the new site, she was still toying with telling him she didn’t feel well and was going to take an extra hour or two—which meant she’d then go back into the bathroom and remove the clothes Adley’d just put on and take her back to bed?

“Hi.” Adley arrived in the kitchen in her clothes from the night before, and just like that, all Sabrina’s weirdness seemed to just drift away, and she smiled and handed over a mug of coffee.

   “How do you take it?”

“Just a little sugar,” Adley said, then kissed her on the mouth. Nothing sensual. Just a quick kiss hello, but Sabrina felt it all the way down to her toes. And back up again.

Sabrina handed over the sugar and watched as Adley spooned some into her coffee. Watched her hands. Those hands that had done so many incredibly sexy things to her and— “Okay, that is a lot more than just a little sugar,” she said with a laugh, making air quotes. “In fact, I’d call that a lot of sugar. Next time somebody asks how you take your coffee, tell them the truth. I’d like a wheelbarrow of sugar in it, please. Like that.”

“I’m feeling a little judged right now,” Adley said, hiding her smile behind the rim of her cup.

“That’s because I’m judging you, weirdo. How do you have all your teeth still?” She grasped Adley’s chin and made a show of squinting as she looked at her mouth. “Or are those fake?” Before Adley could protest, though, she kissed that mouth softly and whispered, “I’m just teasing you.”

“I know,” Adley whispered back and deepened the kiss just a little. Then she pulled back a touch and said, “I hate to sip coffee and go, but I’m meeting Scottie for breakfast in an hour.”

“Totally okay. I have a meeting.”

They stood there quietly for several moments, sipping their coffee, leaning against each other, smiling. “I had a great time last night,” Adley said.

   “Me, too.”

Adley took one more sip and set the mug down. “Walk me out?”
