Frantically I ran all over the house, from room to room, calling her name. When I had to enlist the help of Heather and the security guards, I knew it was bad.
I rang Drex and Zedd to ask them a favor, to drive around the neighborhood in search of her. Once the situation had been explained, they were all too eager to help. That was no surprise. Unlike Finch, my younger brothers had taken a liking to Anastasia. So much so, that I’d say they had even started to form a sibling-like bond.
After searching the house from top to bottom, twice over, all I could do was sit and wait. I hated how helpless I felt. She was gone and all I could do was sit here waiting to hear from someone saying they found her.
It begged the question had she left on her own accord? Or had she been taken?
My heart thumped in my chest, jumping up to catch in my throat. I felt like I was going to be sick. I didn’t want to think of the possibility that she’d been kidnapped. I couldn’t believe it, but I was actually hoping that she’d just left on her own accord. But even that posed its own set of questions, mainly why?
I thought we were finally happy - that we were ready to sail off into our happily ever after.
A single tear slides down my cheek as I can’t help grinding my teeth. I can remember the last time I cried, and that was when I was about nine.
Running my hand through my hair for about the zillionth time that morning, I looked out to see my brothers’ cars pull up in the driveway. Anger immediately struck through me, what the fuck were they doing? Why weren’t they out searching the streets?
“What are you two doing here?” I yelled as I strode to meet them outside.
“Don’t worry, we’ve recruited everyone to come and join the search. We have plenty of people looking for her if she’s close by we’ll find her.”
“Dear God, I hope so.”
