Xavier (Cocky Cage Fighter Legacy, Book 1)(24)
Author: Lane Hart

“What-what are you doing?” she eventually asks, her hands coming up to rest on my shoulders.

“Dancing with you,” I lean in and whisper in her ear, making her shiver.

“This-this isn’t how friends dance together,” she says, her voice shaky.

“I was standing there seething because another man was touching you. I wanted to walk up behind him and put him in a rear-naked choke hold for trying to sneak his hand down to your ass. That’s not a normal reaction for a friend.”

“It’s not?” she asks, pulling back until her gaze locks with mine.

“No, it’s not.”

“Then what is it?”

“I want you, Cass,” I tell her.

“You want me?” she repeats.

I tilt my hips forward so that my swollen cock brushes against her hip. “Can you feel how much I want you?”

“Xavier,” she says again on a sigh that is equal parts desire and uncertainty. “That’s…that’s not a good idea.”

“Haven’t you always wondered?” I ask, making her eyes lower in what I’m guessing is embarrassment. “You basically said as much the other night when you were drunk. You’ve thought about me kissing you, running my hands over your body, moving inside of you.”

“Xavier!” Cass exclaims, stepping back to put more space between our bodies, but she doesn’t push me away.

“I’m not sure how long you’ve been having those thoughts, but I know I’ve been thinking about the same things all week long.”

“Are you drunk?” Cass asks.

“All I’ve had to drink was one glass in your kitchen, so no, Bambi, I’m not drunk.”

“Then why are you suddenly talking about this here and now?” she questions while sneaking a glance around the room to see who is in earshot of us on the dance floor. I honestly don’t care if everyone in the whole building can hear me.

“Just tell me the truth, Cass. Do you want me? Have you thought about us being together as more than friends?”

The sudden chill bumps spreading down her arms and her parted lips give me my answer before she finally says, “Yes. But I care about you too much to give in to the lust and lose you.”

“You’re not going to lose me,” I promise her. “And it’s not just lust. I want you, all of you. Not just a few nights but the days on the lake, climbing mountains, football games where you swear like a sailor when your team is losing. You and me together in every way possible. Say yes, Cass.”

This has to be a dream.

There’s no other explanation, because I never expected to hear these perfect words coming out of Xavier’s mouth after longing for them for so many years.

I think there are about a hundred reasons why this isn’t a good idea. But as soon as Xavier’s fingertips brush down my bare back, the reasons all disappear.

Our faces are less than an inch apart, so it doesn’t take much of an effort on my part to finally do what I’ve been fantasizing about for years and missed out on the other night – I slant my lips over my best friend’s, and…he kisses me back. In the same instant, our tongues meet, and a million hot little sparks explode inside of me, starting in my chest and working their way down to my belly until they get to the finale in the aching, empty spot between my legs.

Xavier’s palm comes up to cup my face as if he’s afraid I’ll try to pull away.

Never.

My hands on his shoulders pull him closer as our mouths devour each other frantically until we’re well past the point of being appropriate for public.

Of all the times I imagined kissing Xavier, none of them even begin to compare to the real thing.

He tastes like…heaven. Our eager tongues move in synchrony like they were made to be together and can’t get enough after waiting for twenty years to meet.

Several people around us clear their throats as if trying to signal for us to get a hold of ourselves. But I can’t stop. Not yet. Screw them. They don’t know how long I’ve waited for this moment!

Eventually, several song changes later, Xavier and I both cave and come up for air. Since he’s still holding my face in his hands, our foreheads stay pressed together as we catch our breath.

And if the kiss didn’t tell me everything I needed to know; the way Xavier is looking at me does. His love for me is a beautiful sight in his dark eyes, making my heart swell. It’s not the usual friend kind of love, but the one that could last a lifetime.

“I’m head over heels in love with you, Cass. We’ve both tried to fight it, but after that kiss, there’s no doubt in my mind that we belong together.”

“Took you long enough,” I tell him with a tear trailing down my cheek.

“Yeah, it did,” he agrees, swiping his thumb under my eye to wipe the dampness away. “That’s why I don’t want to wait another second to make you mine.”

This time, Xavier initiates our kiss and it holds all the promises of what’s to come. His erection is so long and hard against my stomach that if he were shorter, I’m pretty sure he could slip it under my dress and penetrate me through my panties without even removing his slacks. I wouldn’t mind trying.

Against Xavier’s lips, I say, “We should…we should probably stop giving everyone a show.”

“I don’t want to stop,” he says, biting gently on the bottom of my lip.

“Me either,” I agree.

Pinching the fabric at my back, Xavier whispers, “I really want to get you out of this dress.”

“And I really want you to lose your pants.”

“Let’s go,” he says, abruptly reaching for my hand and leading me out the closest exit. We’re down a dark hall full of classrooms a second later.

“Here?” I ask in concern.

“Here,” he replies when he stops at a room and turns the doorknob. He flips on the light switch as I slip inside and then Xavier’s pressing me against the closed door. I hear the click of the lock turning behind me a second later while his mouth covers mine.

I’m not sure how we get undressed so fast. Our hands are so frenzied that half our clothing is probably ripped but neither of us seem to care. There’s only one goal on our minds and nothing else matters.

When I’m naked except for my heels, Xavier’s hands squeeze my bare bottom and heft me up his hot and hard body, aligning us perfectly. I wrap my legs around his waist and arms around his neck as he sits me on top of a desk or table. I wiggle to try and slip his blunt head inside of me, but before I can make it happen, his fingers slide down between our bodies.

“Oh fuck,” he groans, breaking our kiss. “God, you’re so hot and wet.”

“Ah! I’m-I’m ready for you,” I assure him when his middle finger eases inside of me.

“Is that what you think?” Xavier asks before his free hand grabs mine from his shoulder to place it on his hard cock. “I can guarantee that you’ve never been with anyone as big as me.”

“Holy shit,” I mutter while squeezing him or just a small part of him I realize when I glance down between us. I thought his length and girth were impressive earlier when I felt him pressing against me through our clothing. Now he’s at least twice that size. I stroke him up and down, running my fingers over the very pronounced veins winding around his shaft. When I swipe my thumb over the engorged crown to wipe away a drop of moisture leaking from the tip, Xavier hisses.
