Pointed Arrow : A Reverse Harem Science Fiction Romance(42)
Author: Rebecca Royce

That was good and fine until I really stopped to examine it. “But what if I made something worse?”

“Sweetheart, you didn’t cause any of this mess. I’m not sure what you did, but I can’t believe you could make it worse.”

I swallowed. “Wade, I gave my blood to a competing corporation. They think they can fix the fertility issue.”

He blinked. “Really?”

I realized my mistake almost as soon as I said the words. Wade wasn’t going to be particularly concerned with the corporate part now. He stared at me. “Did they think they could do that? Based on your blood?”

“The nanos and whatever. The Super Soldier alterations in females has something to do with the fertility issue. The girl babies.”

He took me in his arms and pulled me to him. “Well, then let them fix that here. And we can fix it back at home.”

Really? “Wade, what if it doesn’t stop the Evander problem?”

“Well, then let’s let someone else solve the Evander problem. You’re a walking miracle. You’re going to save everyone.”

The machine made a noise, and a second later Corbin and Trenton stepped through it. Corbin groaned. “I hate that fucking thing.”

Trenton smiled. “I’ve been through worse things. Don’t worry, honey, they’re all coming back. We’re actually going to get out of this.”

Wade squeezed me tighter. “We’re going to do better than get out of it.”

I hoped he was right.

From my window on Artemis, I watched them blow the Evander ship to smithereens. They hadn’t tried to follow us through the machine back to the ship. All that technology and they hadn’t wanted to try to protect it?

I heard Corbin approach my room before he entered it. Their heartbeats were officially distinct to me. Like the way I could sometimes tell by the way someone sounded walking who they were, I could hear their heartbeats that way now, too. He didn’t say a word, and I didn’t turn from where I watched the burning Evander ship.

His arms came around me a second before his mouth touched my neck, planting a kiss. I shuddered. That was so nice it almost distracted me from what was happening. “Why would they let us go? Let that ship get blown up with their expensive travel machine on it?”

Corbin kissed me again. He smelled clean like he just showered. “Because they have a serious problem now. You let their intellectual property get away from them. They could lose everything. At the end of the day, they only used war to increase profit. It’s not the same as the Sandler battles or anyone else. They don’t care about us now. Not with a chairman of the board to fire and other issues to handle. My guess would be that you did it.”

“What will happen to all those Super Soldiers?”

He turned me in his arms, and I ran my hands over his shirt, feeling his strong muscles beneath my hands. “If Evander falls apart, they’ll have to make a life somewhere. Again, you aren’t responsible for the universe. You did what you could do, and I’m proud of you. Besides, isn’t it enough you may be the key to saving humanity’s fertility issue?”

I shrugged. “I didn’t really do that. I just survived the nanos.”

He lifted me up, and I wrapped my arms around his waist. He swung me around but didn’t set me down anywhere, instead keeping me tightly wound around him. “Sometimes the best we can do is live another day.” Corbin kissed my chin. “I love you.”

Sweet man. He was the one who had taught me things when I first woke up on this ship. Corbin was kind to a fault. Even if he didn’t know it. I kissed him hard. “Why didn’t you come to me before now? Playing hard to get?”

I couldn’t imagine I was dealing with the same thing I’d had with Kellan. He wasn’t playing some kind of game. Corbin shook his head. “I’ve never done this before. The longer it went on, the more I was afraid I’d be a disappointment. The others seemed to know what they were doing or how to fake confidence on this better. I got scared I’d let you down.”

In a million years, I’d never have imagined him saying that to me. “Corbin, let’s lie down together. You couldn’t have let me down. Ever. I’m hardly some kind of sex judge, and I want to be with you. It’s just the two of us in here, not everyone else, and it’s not a comparison game.”

He nodded and did as I asked. We lay in the bed fully dressed for a long second regarding each other. I ran my hand down the slope of his nose. He really was so beautiful. “Kiss me.”

Corbin nodded, and I lost myself when his mouth met mine. He’d taken care of me, I was going to take care of his heart, always.

He made love to my mouth. Funny he’d been nervous because he quickly got over that and fast. Corbin traveled his hands under my shirt and pinched my nipples. I giggled. There was something a little bit forbidden about the way we were doing this. As though staying fully clothed, even though we touched each other, meant we might suddenly stop if someone walked in. Of course, no one was going to do that, but I liked the forbidden just the same.

I reached under his clothes and stroked his cock in his pants. It was difficult. He was hard and his pants were tight, but still I managed. He liked it, or at least I assumed he did from the moans, which increased in volume the more that we did this.

I stroked and stroked until he reached out to stop me. “I’ll come any second, and I want to be inside of you. That’s what I’m thinking about all the time. Obsessively imagining. Is that okay?”

“Of course it’s okay, it’s more than okay.” But I needed something from him first. I wiggled out of my clothes, and he quickly disrobed himself. I took his hand and pressed his fingers inside of me.

He widened his eyes. “I imagined you’d be warm, but this is so much better.”

“Right there. That’s a spot I really like. Could you rub it for a few moments?”

He scooted closer. “Anything you want, always.”

Corbin was a fast learner, and that didn’t surprise me at all. I soon writhed against him as pleasure traveled through my body. This was exactly what I needed. “Yes, more.”

He listened, pressing slightly harder, but I wasn’t ready to come. Like Corbin, I needed more, I had to have the connection of his cock in me. It had been too long that we’d not done it. Maybe I just had to have the completion.

“Come inside of me. If you can. Please. Now.”

He rolled on top of me. In his gaze was the Corbin I was used to seeing—he was loaded with confidence. I smiled, and he pushed inside of me, inch by inch until he’d filled me up. He closed his eyes.

“Sienna.”

I touched his cheek. “I know, Corbin. I’m right there with you.”

Together we moved until we had a rhythm that had me writhing beneath him. I couldn’t get enough. If this could last forever, it wouldn’t be long enough. And yet I needed it to end because what I wanted more than anything was to have his cum deep inside of me, proving he had been there and he was mine.

I wanted to drip with it.

Minutes passed. I dug my fingernails into his back, knowing I wouldn’t come until he did. I needed his orgasm to trigger my own. There was too much tension, too much had happened. I had to see Corbin come. That was a must-do for me to find my own. We were in this together.
